Awesome! I had a rough feeling it may have been greyscale first, but even so it's very, very well done. A lot of times, people colouring from grey to colour seem to have quite a washed out look. Are you using colour layer types in photoshop, or a different type (multiply, overlay, etc)

It kinda depends. When it's just the basic colour then I use overlay, but if it's for vibrancy I usually use colour dodge. To reduce the muddiness I usually just experiment with some levels and brightness/contrast settings And when I've done that I just paint over it, and use the heck out of the colour picker

- Hair colour + style A similar hairstyle as Zero Kiryu from Vampire Knight with silver/grey hair. Also add a ponytail, not too long or short.
- Clothing (I will mostly draw from waist up but feel free to write everything under :)) Wearing a dark hooded robe. Underneath a shirt similar like they had during that age.
- Accessories + props A Scythe similar like Oz Vessalius from Pandora Heart, a bit thinner with a sharp cross on top of the scythe. A straight scar over the left eye, though he can still look with it.
(Environment) (putting it in parenthesis, since my background skills are almost non-existent -_-)
(As mentioned medieval style. He can stand near a demon looking corpse. Since that has a bit with the plot to do.)
He is a demon slayer with supernatural powers.

Okay, so I have a character that I've been kind of drawing blanks on designing.

Genre of your story: Adventure (Shounen)
Name: Khae (Kay)
Gender: Male
Age: 10
Personality: Shy, timid, but very creative/crafty

I'll give you a little back story to him..

Like I said above, he's a young boy that is very creative and crafty with a big imagination. He also is extremely shy and awkward when talking to people. To combat this and make himself more comfortable around people, he puts his creativity to work. He came up with a big orbish helmet to fit over his whole head and an outfit to go with. He can now be normal! (Ergh, wait..)

Something that may help: He lives in a village in the hills called Addersberry known for all the wild berries that grow in the area. I was thinking maybe the berry juice is how he stains and designs the helmet.

Here is a rough outline that I came up with..

I've tried painted eyes on the helmet, a single eye, and other stuff.



Change whatever you want! The only important part is the "helmet" thingy that he's trying to use for comfort.

- Eye type + color: Dark brown; Type is like Tsunade's from Naruto,  and he doesn't wear eyeglasses.

So, it has been a while since the last post here, but how could I resist the urge to throw in my lot, when there is such amazing artwork to find here. So here goes:

Genre of your story: Psychological, Action, Low-Fantasy
Name: Jacob von Zollmark
Gender: male
Age: 23
Personality: sarcastic, level-headed, proud, resourceful
Looks:
- Body type: reasonably athletic, tall
- Skin colour: caucasian, pale
- Eyes: sharp grey eyes
- Hair: Short, apart from that you may feel free to be as creative as you want. If that is too vague, maybe going with black hair and a high forehead is a option, but it is really up to you.
- Clothing: A reasonably altered german WW1-Stormtrooper uniform should suffice, alternatively a trench coat with an officer hat.
- Acessories: I would like you to draw him with a gun resembling either a Mauser Modell 98 or an Awtomat Fjodorowa, with a crude, small dragonfly carved into the gunstock. And if it is not too much trouble, if there could be a small belt of cylindrical glass capsules filled with blood (kind of like shotgun rounds in form and size) on one side of his waist, I would be delighted.
Environment: It would be great if you could add the outlines of a military trench

The story is set in a Fantasy world embroiled in its own version of the Great War, with humans, centaurs, harpies and other races fighting in brutal trench warfare. This would mean, that there are also a few characters which are not exactly human, but I was not sure how comfortable you are with drawing non-human figures, so for now I went only with the human protagonist.

I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you should know the original artist hasn't been active here for over 6 months now. 

I recommend checking more recent offers for a better chance at getting what you're looking for. Otherwise outside sources are also viable.

Something that hasn't been done in MR, or at least I haven't noticed, is rather than posting in an artist's free commission thread, is make your own "draw this character" thread, and you might get multiple artists joining in. I would love to do some more free commissions for my portfolio, so whether you want me to or not (lol), I'll have a shot at some point :P
