Interestellar Crusade [Space Opera Sci-Fi]
« on: June 07, 2019, 12:25:02 AM »

Year 6073 of the Intergalactic Era, humanity has expanded through the known universe to reach the most unsuspected places of an immense amount of galaxies. The Pisces-Cetus Supercluster complex has ceased to be the only inhabited region of the universe, and the Intergalactic Confederation covers more than 14,000 worlds, with a population of over 700 billion inhabitants. Now the Confederation begins to crack and the civil war looms irremediably over its vast territory. The old and powerful empires of the inner zone of the Virgo supercluster have been threatened for centuries by the growing expansion of the external sectors, and before the refusal to cede new systems to these empires, war is absolutely inevitable.

An extraordinary summit is summoned on the planet Mars (Solar System) with which a last alternative is sought. However, two weeks before the meeting, a fleet of unknown origin sweeps the planet Mish-Netás, located beyond the complex of superclusters, in the well-known Hercules–Corona Borealis Great Wall. Faced with this situation, the external sectors launch a series of accusations against the Old Empires, but a few days later it becomes clear that the fleet does not originate in the interior of the Complex, but in the bowels of the aforementioned Great Wall: it is therefore an extraterrestrial threat.

The start of the story:

Bennet looked from side to side with great care, then hurriedly crossed the corridor, until he came to a side door that was half-open. He pushed it and once he was inside the room, he closed with a bang.
The little room, barely ten square meters, housed a small conference table occupied by five figures, all suit dressed.

"You're late," snapped the man furthest from the door, who was also the most stocky man.
"I apologize to all, in the Ministry we have been very busy lately, and more now that ..."
A punch on the table caused the young man to startle.
"Damn, Bennet, don't make excuses and sit down at once, there's a lot to discuss!"
Following the advice of his companion, he took a seat under the watchful eye of the rest of those present.
"You always harsh talk him, Falwer, you should stop for once, don't you see that he still has a lot to learn?"
The big man snorted, but his face relaxed. "Precisely because of that, the new generations are very soft, Huseff. How do you expect to prevail in the Council if you lack the charisma and the necessary presence?"
"Stop this nonsense and start the meeting at once" Calart said "Some of us cannot afford to waste time"
