Hi desu
« on: May 21, 2019, 08:58:03 AM »
Hi! I'm not sure if this is the right place but I read that this is a good place to talk and share with others about manga creation!

Its been a long time since i joined a forum though.

I'm not really an artist or a writter but I love manga and i gotta say I'm finally starting to draw and write manga on my own, maybe I will show something soon hehe.

I have some experience with spriting, animating and drawing, however my art skills are not yet good, a few years ago I decided to make my own manga but I never had the skills to do so, specially because its not my main area (I'm a coder), however my work required me to draw everything and ended up learning a lot of things.

I'm not sure how posting pictures / links work yet in this place so any advice on that would be great ^^, I usually upload with puush so...

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi!!

Aha, a fellow coder!!!!
This is indeed THE place to hang out :P
what sort of coding do you do?
I'm mostly Visual Basic at the moment :)

I don't know about puush, but you can post an image by it's direct link using bbcode like so:
Code: [Select]
[img]https://www.website.com/yourimage.png[/img]
a lot of image upload sites have a set of codes you can copy for posting in different places, and often has a forum version with the <img> tags already in place.

welcome to the forum and hopefully we'll see some of your work soon!!

Oh i see!

I code in c#, specifically in unity but i also coded for some the binding of isaac mods made in lua.

Unity is basically all i want for an engine :p

Anyway, this is a manga forum and thats what i'm going to be showing here :p

You know, when you said spriting I suspected you might have been a game programmer lol
I'm working to get back to Unity once I can make my own game graphics :P
If you want to show off bits of other stuff you're working on, we don't mind. It's not such a strict forum as there's sections for off-topic stuff. I mean I have a craft/sewing topic haha
But seeing manga would equally be awesome XD

Yeah spriting was the way to go for me about art, i got some nice animations but sometimes i still get stuck, i guess its what happens when you want to do many things xD (coding and art)

When I moved to a tablet (specifically to a cintiq) it was like some sort of magic for me, because i was better drawing on paper but i also hated how things work on paper, so that was like a magic trick.

I use it for work and sometimes when I draw concept art or just art in general, then i look to it and i think its awful, now I'm getting way better thanks to keeping on it.

I'm more a lover of manga than art though, I just love to see how it looks and reads so i work hard on getting to that point, same with games.

Yeah wanting to do a bunch of different stuff can get in the way of doing any of it well haha

I love drawing traditionally but I'm about 95% digital just because I can have a faster workflow and sort my work out better.

Most of the art I like is in the manga style, probably because that's sort of how I got into art.

Welcome to MR! You can work on the drawing skills, just gotta be in for the long haul.

Coding is nice. Good to have you on board. I only have to know basic HTML/CSS for work, although I do enjoy wrapping my head around Javascript so I might get back to that at some point.
