Looking for an Artist (Unpaid)
« on: May 28, 2019, 06:28:25 AM »
G’day, My name’s Yuri and I’m a writer looking for an artist. I don’t have money, so it will be unpaid work. (Sorry). I’m hoping to get it published properly, and the profits will be spilt 50-50. Before I try get it published, though, I’ll be positing in on sites like Webtoon and my Deviantart page (With the artists permission, of-course) to try and get it some exposure.

I have many ideas for different Manga, but I’m focusing on one at a time. The one that I’m focusing on at the moment, is the one which I’m looking for an artist for. It’s called “Battle of Warriors”. The story is about a boy named Jessie, who is very girly in appearance and speak. But, don’t let that fool you. Jessie is strong and capable, because of his Grandfather’s training. The story begins with Jessie’s grandfather dying and Jessie made a promise to be train by the one who trained his grandfather, so he can become stronger and win the World’s Fighting Tournament.

This is basically all I can type without giving away the rest of the story. So, if anyone is interested, that you very much! And, if you’re not, that’s ok because I know a lot of artists want to be paid for their work. (It’s the same with Writer’s, too, but seems I’m writing then I’m not paying myself XD).

If you’re interested, please PM me.

Thanks :)

Are you that Australian guy that writes GL stories?

You have a higher chance in finding an artist on webcomic communities such as Tapas or ComicBookCollabs subreddit.
When pitching an idea to an artist, you definitely need more information and a better synopsis than just saying "Jessie wants to enter the tournament to be the best fighter".

Also, don't aim for publication for your first comic collab. Go for experience first - and it will take you years.
