@manimal nice one, and cute character you got there :P

@lego day 2, right?
but that's way higher quality than you normally draw! fantastic detail and consistency on the clothes!

my day 2 - I have neither an excuse nor an explanation for these :P

Yeaup, day 2. Almost gave away my secret as a time traveller there.

Also no excuse needed... Give me that mandala on a t-shirt yesterday tomorrow now. I want to wear it. How did you even come up with it?

Also you seem to have mastered the beauty of the cube. I've always wanted to be able to use cubes to draw everything as a central building theme for all my drawings, but I can never make anything seem to look good. And here you prove me completely wrong with organic looking stuff. Great linework dude.

Sort of just adding lines and circles trying to keep the balance of light and dark the same, then half way got bored and thought hey I'll throw in a ring of fire. it was meant to be pure black flames but no way I'm colouring that in with my tiny fineliner :P

I had some really cool idea in my head for having all these houses on different levels and trees everywhere with these cubes but it executed so badly lol

@fro you can still join if you want to!! nothing like the must-draw-every-day commitment to kick you back in gear!

a late day 3: I was too tired tp upload last night. So far it's taken a whole hour for each page, even though I am not sketching, I am taking longer to draw as I am "sketching" in my head. hmmm.

Was tired too, and then mangaraiders refused to load for some great reason just before midnight. At least I drew before then.

Day 4

Spoiler

I was inspired by the black witch  moth for this one. I imagine her as some sort of ability user with that motif.

I'm seriously missing doing sequential art though. I'll try drawing silly comix later down the line.

@lego nice tight hatching lines and very neat overal. maybe the clothes were a bit too plain? love the glowy moth :P

@Manimal how's it going ?

my day 4: I learnt that I need to decide how long I will spend on a piece before I start it, otherwise I will get bored before I finish. took about an hour for the page again.

Haha yeah I thought so too. It's why I added a logo to her shirt but I should've gone more HAM with it.

Jeegus do you know of hard surface rendering suuper? Dude just looking at those pipes is amazing. How could you even draw all of that haha. And this is you when you're bored? Like the faces. They seem realistic in a natural way if that makes sense? Like there's no forced in stylization - even though they do show an accurate representation of how humans look. I like their expressions for real.

Also nice lizard. Fat lizard.

Cool stuff guys Lego with yer characters and Suups with yer um...pipes wtf that's cool.

As for me, I fell behind because I'm in the last phase of my next album, so yesterday was devoted to finishing as much as I could, I didn't have the creative energy to draw anything. But I will try to try a bunch to catch up and hopefully be done this album in the next few days so I can just throw that aside and draw.

@manimal that's a great reason and you are forgiven! looking forward to hearing the album and seeing your next artworks!

haha thanks :P
that's what happens when you draw without a clear objective in your head :P

@lego oh because you double posted I forgot to mention your day 3 one. I like the costume, especially her top, the center spike seemed kinda novel. both day 3 and 4 have very sharp neat facial expressions which are very good as well.

do you know of hard surface rendering suuper?
A quick google led to only 3d modelling websites, is that what you meant? if so, then no idea :P

Quote

I have no idea lol it started off as a small idea in my head and then I got into it and couldnt stop, but then I got too ambitious and got bored lol at one point I was going to fill the entire page, even the blank spaces behind the pipes that were already there. that will probably take 3 hours at a guess.
having a bit of knowledge helps otherwise I wouldnt have known to split the pipes into sections, or use bolts for the largest container.

thanks! it was sort of a lazy half from memory half generic attempt at a simple realistic style. I'm still wondering if a realistic style would work for me with a manga instead of a stylized one, although I do like stylized.

Fat lizard.
that's what drawing from memory does lol

Haha the 'Nice x. Fat x' thing is just one of my sayings. The lizard was okay really.

I'll try for some random background esque stuff next. And yeah, I know the feel of losing steam. I could barely be bothered to even think up a character name or something.

I really want to enjoy this. Hopefully tomorrow will bring a better day.
