No worries! We're all on the same level here.

The limited number thing is mostly to keep from adding randos in the middle of things and destroying any sense of established flow (which doomed the original project I took part in). I definitely agree with your notion of having people who are well versed in the material. Myself, Lego, Fro, and Mahlua come to mind in this case, as I think we are the most well researched/read when it comes to MR Canon. Although since this is not actually happening (as of yet), there's always room to add people who know their stuff, and I think that's a good as barrier for entry as any. It's more about keeping a consistent team once the ball is rolling.

Okay, so not to double post, but I may have the best single idea for how to pull this off. It would be an epic collaboration that builds to a grand unified story line, would allow individual writers on the project do their own thing, would leave open room for varied stories within itself, and would be spiritually salvaging a once great MR plotline/collaboration that never got it's time to shine.

As a bonus, it could be a good way to bring in new people interested in writing some canon, without handing them a massive task, or expecting them to share their weight on a single giant collaboration story.

I will put together a sales pitch in the next couple of days once I get my thoughts a little more in order, and pm the standard canon writers. If anyone else is interested, let me know, and I'll get you on the mailing list.

Yes please my work email is posted on my accounts now.

Oh gods we're not going to do like a DC 52 reboot of the entire MR canon are we?
Because while on one hand that would be kind of great, it would also be a tremendous hassle to figure out in the Coryn's Quick and Easy Guide to the MR Universe or whatever...but like, now that I think about it, I'm not really against the idea. Some cohesion could be great, and a collaborative reboot would be a marked date starting place.

Oh gods 2x combo my current project is about resetting Ecchiworld. It's literally called Reset.

I'M ONTO YOU, CORYN.
Haha signature go brr.

I'm ten toes down for this all the way! A group chat of some sort might even be in order for a MRverse story of this magnitude. Then again, PMs work just as fine.

I'm curious about this abandoned project you keep mentioning, Coryn. Was I around when it first surfaced? Is it a grave that you wouldn't mind me digging? Cause you know, if it exists, I'll eventually find it anyway.

Huh... I need to make that an official rule...

That honestly sounds like the best idea imo. Communication would be vital and all that, and it'd probably end up a little easier. It might also be a little more fun to organize between everyone working on it, you've got a lot of options. My last bit of advice based on the project I did awhile ago is that everyone involved will really have to be committed, especially as time goes on. I didn't mention it before, but in said project, me and who I was working with as the head of the thing made a difficult decision to cut someone out completely (other than a little cameo) because as crunch time got closer and more people were writing, they disappeared off the radar without a word. It was only for a couple weeks, but they were just falling behind, and it was for the greater good, yanno? I guess what I'm saying is that there shouldn't be that hesitation from the leader(s) of the group to make decisions like that if necessary, because one person being like that or going awol can mess with the whole thing.

Oof. Another rant. I'll stop poking my nose into places it shouldn't be in now. Good luck with all of it, it sounds like yall will have fun working on it!
I'm too shy to initiate... But I'm open to anyone else doing it. Just tell me if you need to say something :D

No reboots, dear god no reboots  :( we've built too much to tear it down. That's what the alternate universes are for.

No no, although this would certainly be an undertaking of massive proportion, I don't think that any one of us, even together, hold the authority to pull any sort of final crisis nonsense. When all this is said and done, I'm not envisioning any major universe changes, although it does feel like a good junction for any character decisions we might want to make.

To answer Fro's question: this is definitely something you could dig up if you tried, but I don't know if it's something you really want to do. Considering I'll be putting together a pitch including it in a day or two.

As for communication, a discord server seems ideal. It worked pretty good for last year's Raid. And we can pair that with a Google drive folder which we can all access and use to aggregate and peer edit writings.

@effie: definitely a good point. Hopefully we can get it together, but as with my experience with DOTS, I found that the best way to combat people falling behind to to keep hard deadlines, and have people in back up to replace them. Get everyone to agree up top, and then you can hold that against them if they complain later. Although I'm thinking we can mostly eliminate that with the way I'm formulating this plan.

I'm definitely curious, though I would be more interested in the artistic side of things if I were to contribute.

But... if you need a Discord server...

You're more than welcome to contribute art, though this would definitely be a writing exercise.

But... if you need a Discord server...

Then I will want to keep it dedicated, so it doesn't get bogged down with unrelated crap.

I learned that lesson the hard way...

Ayy, probably gonna want to make one for it then, the one I use is mostly for art though we have channels for just about everything. If you do make a Discord though, I would like to observe and possibly art if that is an option (I need to catch up a LOT on the MR verse before I'd feel confident writing anything without stepping on toes)

I got no problem adding yah. MR Canon is definitely confounding, no arguing that. But maybe we'll be your guides during this endeavor, your erstwhile escorts, your taciturn tour guides, your god damn jimminy crickets of stupidity.

I'm losing track of my point. It'd be great to have you as a fly on the wall.

Count me in on the Discord group whenever you make it. I think you have me added as a friend. At the very least I know lego does. I just sent him nekomimi cosplay girls like last night.

Guess I really should invest in a mic now, huh?  :sure:

I'll make a discord account tonight. I literally have no idea of what it is exactly, funny enough. So to the Googlelith I go then.

End of the day, it's just a voice and text chat program. So don't feel the need to Shell out on a high dollar mic. Most of this will likely be text based (but like, maybe at least have some mic available)

Alright then. I'll probably just settle on a decent headset at the very least.
