That actually made the dub of Sister Princess hilarious, because each of the girls used a slightly different term for brother, and in the dub they had to come up with 13 different ways so each of the girls would, as in Japanese, refer to him differently. One of them already used French, so that was nice.

More to the point of the thread, Sister Princess is definitely in my top 10 nostalgia anime, along with Hellsing, Bleach, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and Marchen Awakens Romance. Let's see, that's five...I don't know how long it would take me to come up with five more...

rewatching beelzebub and also hayate no gotoku as well at the moment

Hayate no Gotoku seriously has so many references to other animes and mangas its unbelievable. I thought I understood a lot the first time I watched it but seriously references are EVERYWHERE. its almost a permanent otaku test. They also directly mention shows and merchandise and stuff but half the word is usually bleeped out. I'm not sure if that is done as a deliberate joke (and to see if anyone actually knows what they are referring to) or it's an actual legal problem in mentioning the names of other brands and stuff, but either way it's great fun.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei has bunches of references too, I need to rewatch that...

I think you probably hit the nail on the head there Suuper with the references. Skull Face Bookseller Honda-san is the exact same way. But I think it's about copyright first and foremost. The comedy is just an unintentional side effect (although one you can definitely use to your advantage). Because let's face it. Bleeping a word out is much funnier than hearing the word itself.

just started watching Ao no Kanata no Four Rythym. I was reeled in on the Sci-fi slice of life feel, but after ep1 I think I've been tricked into watching a sports anime :/

just watched my neighbour totoro for the first time on TV. was so cute and lovely, not quite what I expected but great nonetheless. I really want to draw ghibli style now :)

That sure is a way to see it for the first time. Honestly Suuper, your art isn't super far off from Ghibli already. You probably wouldn't havr too hard a time getting there.

Funny. My niece just got Totoro as a christmas present, and I never watched it. Funny enough, the age 0 rating has made me suspicious about it being worth a watch - too used to P13 and above I suppose - but i'll give it a shot because Ghibli.

Come to think of it it's almost a crime I haven't watched every Ghibli movie by now.

@lego its not as childish as Ponyo if you've seen that (although I liked that too), but yeah it's definitely family friendly. I've only watched about 1/4 of the Ghibli films or less to be honest :P

Just finished Gamers on a friends recommendation. was interesting and funny but felt like it stopped half way through a season. the plot was a bit thin, or strange or something. worth a watch but not on my recommendation list unless it gets a better sequel. the relationships and character interactions felt original at least.

-Baki (Netflix English Dub)
-Rising Of The Shield Hero (Dont get all the drama over that one?)
-Boogiepop 2019 (Is it okay I dont know whats going on?)
-Dororo (Amazon Prime coming through where Crunchyroll failed us)
-The Promised Neverland (Thought it was airing later in the month, but sooner the better)
