I remember trying to get into this one back in my freshman year. I probably got a good third of the way through it, but I don't know, it just couldn't hold my attention. Something about the pacing I think. I never felt like we were going anywhere.

I remember reading the manga a bit and finding it really interesting but it is a slow burn. I want to go back and reread it actually.

I read the manga. Naoki Urasawa is a master craftsman of conspirancies and characters. He's just so good, and it just keeps on upping the ante. Monster, like 20th Century Boys really has you so tensed up by the thriller that you get the feeling you get when you watch a supernatural horror like The Ring or something. So good.

I haven't seen the anime, but I suspect it's as good as the manga if not better. As it was in the case of say Death Note.
