If I read the title correctly, does being a self-promoter make you look fake, I guess it depends on the execution. I see this a lot in YouTube videos. This one guy, seriously, omg, okay, this one guy before he started with his video content, straight up yelled at his audience to share, comment, donate to his patreon. I was like, this mother Fudger.

However, if you watch the Hodgetwins, I think they do it right. They say they are doing shows or offer better content on their own website. because you know, YouTube is for little kids sucking on that lollipop.
