New to writing

hey guys, so as this post is named im kinda new to writing, im in the middle of writing a story at the moment but i dont know the lenth i should go up to,  i know how i want to end it and some of the stuff in the middle but i sometimes feel like it might be too long.

if you have any info that would be awesome

so far the story is at 1500 words

The main thing is to end a chapter where you feel is best. I used to make chapters about 5 pages long as it felt like the right length but it really depends on what you wanna do with the chapter.

Think of what you want to cover in the chapter, what purpose you are making it for. There’s no set amount you have to do for a chapter or even the series itself.

A story needs to be exactly as long as it needs to be. No longer, no shorter. This is something you need to feel out for yourself, but it's helpful to ask "are all of these scenes necessary?" And "Are there any scenes that I'm missing?"

You probably know this already, and it won't help much with your current tale, but read great writers. See what they have done or are doing. Like was already said, don't pad your story with extra words using 6 where 2 would do. Be your own critic and editor. And ask yourself when you're done going over a section, "Is this something someone else would want to read?"
