^^

Would you go on a date with a total stranger?
Why would you or why you would not?

I think it really comes down to who's setting up the date, and how much you trust them.

Nah.

I've never been on a date nor asked anyone out and I don't plan to unless I find the right girl. So, never but it's the way things go.

For me that is impossible, I am too shy to even speak with someone random, going to one is completely impossible for me~

I am not sure about that, I mean, even if you trust the one setting it up, it is still impossible for them to know your preferences, imo.

So, you wouldn't because of how important you want to date someone you actually loves rather than going in blindly?

Yes, the idea of a blind date seems...simply painful for me. I guess I put too much value on romantic things. I'm not into the idea of dating and being with multiple girls. "Then how do you find this right girl?" I dunno, if I do I do, if I don't oh well. An unrealistic ideal, but my ideal regardless haha.

I don't think it is unrealistic, it's kinda cute and romantic tbh~!

For the spectators, yes. For the participants... not so much. All I can imagine is a bunch of awkward glances and one-liner conversations.  :ninja:

In my opinion, blind dates are only as good as the people involved. If you really aren't the proactive type, you're gonna suffer.  :-X

Well, I'd argue that if you trust a person enough to set you up on a blind date, then they probably know you well enough to understand your preferences. Then again, maybe that's just me.  But it also depends a lot on you, and how personable you are as a person. Working in industry has taught me to interact with perfect strangers well enough, and it's not like a blind date is much different than a lot of first dates in general (especially before the invention of Google). You're still going to be taking in those first impressions. It's less a date-date and more of an introduction.

Yeah why not. I've never done a blind date,  but what's the worst that could happen? It's a few hours of your day. Granted, if they're showing signs of being unhinged/creepy then get the hell out. But if the dates in a public bar/restaurant or something then it's fine.

Nope. I would rather confess to someone and be rejected than reject someone, which is, unfortunately, a very likely possibility with blind dates. It isn't really cute or romantic unless it works out, which is unlikely if you don't know the person beforehand. It's just awkward. If a friend wants to set me up, I'd rather they invite the both of us to some group thing and introduce us and let us decide if we want to go out based on platonic interactions. Especially because matchmakers never want to do the hard part of letting someone down. They just want to take credit for it if it works.

I would never date a person who I do not like or a person that do not likes me. Case closed.
