I'm looking at getting a mannequin to help me with posing and proportions.

I've seen 2 of them that are intriguing to me (the female form ones but will get male ones shortly)

one being the Owfeel Action Female Figure

and the other S-H Figuarts Body chan Solid black

has anyone got any history/reviews on these? i am drawn towards the S.H. Figuarts one but will need to wait for the price to drop a bit (just so my wife doesn't go spare)

i personally dont use drawing dummies, well i do for certain things and i have used figmas to pose before owning both a few figma and SH figuarts, it is a lot better than those stupid wooden ones, i'll tell you that, as for which set is better, i cant tell you since i don't own these figures that you have mentioned, but the S.H Figuarts are the most recommended in the community

I don't know what kind of mannequin I have and I honestly forget that I have it sometimes. It's a little wooden one, and it can be hard to maneuver, but as far as I know, any mannequin with proper proportions can get the job done, at least as far as practice and learning. More dynamic stuff tends to be harder to do with them, so I'd save those kinds of poses for when you start developing your own sense of it.

Thanks for the input guys.

I've opted for the cheaper £13 one (owfeel one) as its not such a hit to the wallet and will be used for basic poses. So far I've been using lineart from the interwebs and fiddling for proportions/poses

She has arrived!!

posability is good, articulation is good for standard forms and poses. Kung-fu/Gymnastics poses will be an issue but theres enough reference material for that!!

the only issues i've found so far are that it needs a stand and the hands/feet pop off quite easily (possibly my heavy handed ness but still) i'll try and get some images posted up later of it!
