First time getting sent home from work early guys. I was working the door, which means I help seat customers and give wait times and help clean up tables. Literally, that's all my job entails. Problem is our booths only legally fit five people, and today we had a party of nine, a party of eight, two parties of seven, and more than I can remember parties of six.
So I'm sitting here scrambling to clean up messes left on tables while trying to keep everyone waiting and I was getting super stressed out and one of the waitresses had a party of seven and couldn't take the rest of her tables because of all the focus such a big party takes and then her booth opened up and another party of seven came in and I didn't want to do that to her, so all that stress added to the fact that I'm still new and occasionally making rookie mistakes and that I'm terrible at wording things in a customer-service friendly way I guess, yeah, the manager pulled me back and told me to go ahead and clock out.
I didn't get written up or anything, and I don't think anyone's really judging me because I'm still getting used to it and it was pretty stressful since first shift on a Sunday is our busiest time ever, but the stress is still killing me and I've been home for a while.
