Shkreli would, fricking guy.

Also Nair, we have to set it up somewhere in America so you or Coryn are hosting the event. We can easily raise 50K, it's such a great cause. What should that money go to? Hurricane relief? Sick children? No, the Gene Simmons Barry Goldman jam event 2018. They will play Strutter, Sure Know Something, God Of Thunder and if all hope is all hope, White Bread and Grandma's Vacation To Cuba. Kickstarter now open.

Alright, fine. I get the sarcasm and why the money should have better applications, but that's not fun for wishful thinking. I'm never gonna hear the Gene Simmons version of the Bop-Bop without a little help.

OH! And since you've talked about Carly Rae Jepsen before, you might appreciate this video, as well as the enormous (150-ish page) document about the theory behind every one of her songs. Seems like the kind of thing up your alley, maybe? I just like Max Landis, so I'm already reading this Far-too-long document as it is.

I saw some article comparing CRJ to Mozart which I thought was a bit weird. Like, you can claim that CRJ's songs are complex without comparing her to Mozart who was playing with a completely different set of standards and expectations. Like, unless she's subverting Sonata Allegro form (and, even then, Beethoven would be the far more apt comparison), it's kind of a labored comparison. But that's poptimist journalism, I guess. When your arguing for the legitimacy of a form long dismissed as unintelligent, invoking the name of Mozart as a stamp of validity makes some kind of sense, I guess, if you're desperate and aren't really familiar with his music.

Anyway, I believe it was some journalist's take on that essay, which I'd be interested to read.  I'm especially interested to see if the author makes that comparison as well, to see if they substantiate it with a bit more evidence.

Peeps making memes out of Carly Rae's greatness. I'm more amused at this weird following around Carly Rae, which stems from how actually awesome Emotion was, how she's actually a nice person and how radio ignores her. She's kind of becoming one of the most positive memes I've seen, in real life people will still be like "wait what?" when I mention her. Two times I've been talking to people who thought I was joking when I mentioned Carly Rae in my favorite artists. It's a weird fanbase she's built, but atleast people are realizing the greatness.

It's telling that the lead singer of a band called Cannabis Corpse wanted to stop talking about weed before this Vice journalist did. Oh, Vice:

(also, weed-themed 90s death metal puns abound)

Yeah, honestly, that CRJ thesis... could have been trimmed to about 5-10 pages without the Crazy-Steve-on-ecstasy tone. Shouldn't take 150 pages with caps lock on to say that most Carly Rae songs deal with romantic longing.

Anyone can figure that out with Carly Rae really.

Anyway the universe broke today. I was hanging with my friends and one of them put a piece of cake in a cup with ice cream. When I turned and saw a piece of cake in a cup I was dead. Like my mind broke so hard that it was too much to handle. Then someone said "what you've never seen a cupcake before" and I was KOed for atleast 5 minutes.

Sometimes it's those dumb little things.

So, Wendys.

Yesterday I got a double order of chicken strips and a medium drink. I wasn't really paying attention and bam, $17 unfilling meal of 6 chicken strips made by employees who look like they have no soul left in a semi clean, mostly trashy environment. Meanwhile I went to the Finnish restaurant today and got a nice full pancake & other stuff meal for $14 with quick friendly service in a nice clean environment.

I've been getting in the bad habit of eating out more given my school schedule...I'm so done with Wendys and A&W now, disappointment and gross food every time, small worldly restaurants only. It's nice as a lone diner actually, you enjoy your meal more when you aren't talking to people. and you get good time to sit and think. We have a great Scandinavian restaurant here with a homely feel. Still...I can't let this be a new habit!

Man, Canadian Wendy's is pricey. Not like it's super cheap here, but you can still get a large meal for like $9. Hell they even have the 4for4. Which is like, a burger or chicken sandwich, 4 chicken nuggets, a small fry, and a drink for $4. Which while it may not look imposing on a plate, is still probably like a 1000 calories. Which is more than I ate in a normal day back in college.

TBH I think I was topping out at like 700 calories on an average day? Explains how I stayed so thin.

Will review stories upon request. My latest arc: http://goo.gl/KYgsfF

Yeah, I never was able to gain the freshman 15. I just kept losing weight. Anxiety, walking, and lousy cafeteria food burn a lot of calories I guess.

Also: remember exchange rates

Never heard of this Freshman 15. I guess it applies more to people who leave home for school. I don't know what this college life I see in movies and stuff is, but it sure ain't my or my classmates' lives. With food, for me it's just, I can bring a sandwich or eat somewhere cool, but the $...gotta stop. Cafe food is kinda gross looking, we have Tims which is good enough for me, I had the pizza once and didn't need to get it again. Right now I'm just curious about the small local restaurants so I hope it's just a phase Mom.

It's not just Wendys that's costy in Canada. Don't forget how awful our dollar is. R.I.P. the time a few years ago it was on par with USD. But with that $15 min wage increase coming along soon...

When will people learn that you can't just arbitrarily increase the minimum wage? I could write a book about my economic grievances with several nations.

Please do. I want to see where your data comes from. I'm not being a dick. I just like seeing how people form their socioeconomic opinions.
