Musicians are always in competition with each other  :ninja: Pretty much everything except the solos are planned carefully. I just wing it for the solos. It took me 4 takes to get the solo as heard as Jealous Jane just the way I wanted it. And yeah I'm just recording on my phone, actually.

I recorded like 3 songs today and then didn't like how any of them turned out in the end, so I'll just post this as consolation

Together in the Urn
http://chirb.it/1mEpk7

A few things about this song

1. I don't play Piano

2. I would sing, but my voice was not made for singing. A shame since I wrote it from the perspective of someone who his psychotically obsessed with a young girl. Not even in a comedic, satirical kind of way. More like in a Ricardo Lopez or John Wayne Gacy (well, Gacy was into boys, I guess) kind of way. The song was written to be creepy.

3. If you recognize the little coda at the end, you win an imaginary trophy to put on your imaginary trophy case.

Oh boy, this song. I made it up and not even I can get it right  :ninja:

Belgian Blue Groove
http://chirb.it/4ONgGq

This was made to be difficult and impossible for anyone to cover. Jazzy intro, the meat of the song is a sort of hard country with a lot of E Major riffs and a few odd-time sections (though I think they're more based on abrupt starts/ends rather than falling nicely in the time signature). Then silence followed by little 12 bar blues improvisation, and then back into country  :bored:

Haven't played this in a while. Jimmy Page's White Summer (stolen from Davey Graham, which is turn taken from traditional Celtic songs anyway)

I think this progression is going to turn into a full song. Jazzy, with Rock choruses.

It's a Jazz piece with a bouncy, snazzy rhythm. I wrote lyrics to this too, but I'll have to find someone who can sing over it.

Been a while  :sure:

First, I guess I'll share this snippet. I'm reviving one of my old songs. The interlude for that song was me making some very monstrous sounds with the guitar. It's usually a very long, the first recording of it was around 19 minutes.

Not Your Fool PV

And then there's this one I just made up. Groovy riffs galore.

No Idea (Because I have no idea what to do with this). Riff porn.

When Seashells Sing. Been a while since I tried out Open D tuning. Mellow and gentle.

And I found some of my old songs  Though, I wasn't as good back then.

Gracious Maiden. Another gentle one

It's been a while since I dropped in here. Man, I've missed some good stuff. It's almost like MR has its own set of musicians enough to start a radio station. Maybe we should look into album anthologies rather than manga lmao.
Haha signature go brr.

Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to make more. Busy with work, writing, rushing to pack and move, and I've gotta get my Les Paul looked at for a pretty bad grounding issue.  :ninja: Glad to know what's here is still good. Which reminds me, I've got to go ahead and post the lyrics to some of this, since I'm no good at singing.

Lyrics, Lyrics, Lyrics

Sunday
Well I've been thinking 'bout what to do on Sunday
See all the girls get extra curls and spend their money
And I've got a ticket to the finest show, maybe baby you and I could go
But I don't feel like breaking a commandment on Sunday

The city's shaking
The store's are baking
People awaken
And dawn is breaking
The cars are driving
One crash and silence
A young girl just died

And everybody only cares for you on Sunday
Everybody likes to be your friend on Sunday
Everybody only prays for you on Sunday
Everybody likes to give you love on Sunday

And I've been thinking 'bout the people who owe me graces
Spoke to my reflection and he helped me recall their faces
He said "Son, be a man, get a gun, form a plan."
"Go to their homes and get your revenge"
But I don't feel like breaking a commandment on Sunday

The city's shaking
The stores are baking
People awaken
And dawn is breaking
Bad men are runnin'
Reach for the gun and
A good cop just died

And everybody only cares for you on Sunday
Everybody likes to be your friend on Sunday
Everybody only prays for you on Sunday
Everybody likes to give you love on Sunday

Well I've been hiding from the sun and the sights since Friday
The paper's talking about what occurred on the highway
No no no, just turn away, tell the lord I wasn't even there that day
But I don't feel like breaking a commandment on Sunday

The city's shaking
The stores are baking
People awaken
And dawn is breaking
Two men are fighting
One girl is crying
All three of them died

(x2)
Well I've been hiding from the sun and the sights since Friday
The paper's talking about what occurred on the highway
No no no, just turn away, tell the lord I wasn't even there that day
But I don't feel like breaking a commandment on Sunday

Together in the Urn

Sweet Emily, beautiful queen
Seared in my self-esteem, your skin in my dreams
Your name is written all over my walls, with candles and wine
Sweet Emily, you must be mine

My wife became so troublesome, she tried to take you from me
And now she's gone with Jesus Christ, but you're all I need
I kept your scent wherever I could, even the strands of your hair
Arrive at my door, shed your cloth
So pure, so bare

Why don't you remember my name? My queen, my heart, my soul
Does my love mean nothing to you, and all my heart beholds?

Give yourself unto me, in Jesus' name
Let your blood wash over me, In Jesus' name
Amen

How sweet your taste, gentle your smell, and warm your tears
But why do you weep, sweet Emily? I swear there's nothing to fear
I will never let you go. Here and together, we'll burn
They'll find us charred, together in bed, together in the urn

Why don't you surrender to me? My queen, my heart, my soul
Does my love mean nothing to you, and all my heart beholds?

Give yourself unto me, in Jesus' name
Let your blood wash over me, in Jesus's name
Amen

The Light Will Shine On You

She's got a pitch-black heart filled with cancer and avarice
The taste of blood and many poor souls on her putrid lips
With a delusional duty to the act of morphing hearts into crucibles
It's irrefutable, a bit unusual, but our destruction is mutual

She walks proudly like your father and smiles in a way that reminds you of your mother
Her incandescent eyes of mystique and her hair hang above ya
Now you love her
Her gravity exclusively attracts agony and avidly, you followed her to hell
Oh my god, please don't ring, don't ring the funeral bells

Well god damn you, and be born anew
Some day, the light will shine on you
And no shadow, no darkness, will remain to shield the heartless
Some day, the light will shine on you

Her modus of locomotive motion is to feign formlessness like she's a lotus
You're under hypnosis, her misdiagnosis, your lips are stained by cyanosis
And free will is blasphemy, punishment is apathy, a fool like you could never die happily
You know it's insanity, in reality, your love story's nothing but a tragedy

Well god damn you, and be born anew
Some day, the light will shine on you
And no shadow, no darkness, will remain to shield the heartless
Some day, the light will shine on you

(Slow Solo)
(Double-time solo)

Kills like Whitman, fools like Gacy
I thought you knew the light would shine on you
Lies like Judas, words are useless
I thought you knew the light would shine on you

You don't love her, you don't need her, but when you cut yourself, you bleed her
Cursing in tears "If I was just a little cleaner, just a little keener"
But you fell to your knees and you sang in tongue, singing 'Holy Holy, look at what the Lord has done!"

Well god damn you, and be born anew
Some day, the light will shine on you
And no shadow, no darkness, will remain to shield the heartless
Some day, the light will shine on you

OGHM redoes a song as a one-man band. (Forgive me, I'm not a drummer)

OGHM tries his hand (or throat, rather) at singing. The results are atrocious. But if there are any drummers that want to lay down a chill track on top of this to complete it, do let me know.
