The Manimal's Music (NEW SONG)

Part I of the "Hopcake" saga, a four parter. This is...well let me say the others won't be like this, maybe. We'll see. "Guess My Number, Get My Colour (Hopcake Act I)".

The Manimal's Music (2 NEW SONGS)

Part 2, since this is the Ritsu piece and the last was Mio I figured they should be similar. "How Dusted Is Rust (Hopcake Act II)"

https://soundcloud.com/deepspacenoise/how-dusted-is-rust

"If Only Ice Froze As Nice (Hopcake Act III)"

https://soundcloud.com/deepspacenoise/if-only-ice-froze-as-nice

Also I was messing with 6/8 today and WTF I RECORDED FREAK CON IN 6/8! I had no idea I just put the metronome on and played. I hadn't even tried 3/4 yet but I somehow did that by mistake which is why the song sounds so out of time, I thought I was playing 4/4.

The Manimal's Music (2ND EP COMPLETE)

The Manimal : Krayon (EP)

1. Pretty Kitty (Acoustic Ver.)
2. Guess My Number, Get My Colour
3. How Dusted Is Rust
4. If Only Ice Froze As Nice
5. Just Wait For The Pay Off
All Songs Scribbled & Performed By The Manimal
https://barrygoldman.bandcamp.com/album/flesh-krayon

Since I wrote all (but track one) in a day and recorded over 3 this needs to be an EP. Stuff like this doesn't work anywhere else. These are very much...free-flowing tracks. Each one is based off a K-ON character. It goes Azusa, Mio, Ritsu, Mugi and Yui. They are based on traits at first then become other things with the upchuck lyrics.

Just Wait For The Pay Off is the only song worth listening to here I think.

This was going to be fun and poppy like Wendy but I can only make big stupid rock songs apparently. "Cozy Nozi"

Thanks for listening Lego, the art is not my design I copied it from somewhere because...well it's obvious how I came up with the phase Cozy Nozi. I want to make the next album have lots of those radio bits, it's so...I dunno. Flipping through the radio feels so desolate but still direct, and getting those random vocal samples, it's interesting. I happened to tune it at the exact right time to get those lines about love for "Theme For Midnight Stella".

I haven't heard that one yet, I'll check it out.

Ah inspiration. Music is really interesting on that front. Keep on coming up with tunes, but I'm hitting a dry spell on the lyrics department.

I've had trouble with songs lately to but the best thing to do is listen to what's around you. I've found with lyric writing if I just sit somewhere where people are talking I can find bits of conversations and random lines to put into songs. Some of my rambling in my lyric thread is from this, I heard like "hey McDolands is doing breakfast all day" and bam there's a song "Breakfast All Day". You gotta keep your eyes open to! There was a picture on the mirror in the washroom of a shirt saying "this could be you", bam I made the song "This Could Be You".

You're coming along with your stuff Lego, you just gotta keep looking for new things to do and improve on.

It's late now but that thing Paipis posted about, FAWM, it's very cool. February album writing month, it's cool to see what people do and you often get a comment or two! It's neat, I've got 11 songs written so far out of the goal of 14. After listening to Trout Mask Replica I've got lots of inspiration to just do literal whatever is in my head. I recorded myself spewing vocal vomit non stop for 7 minutes, just speaking bs framed around K-ON. It spawned much of the key phrases on the Krayon EP, worked fairly okay.

I'm sort of loosely doing that myself for FAWM. Same "first though, best thought" kinda thing. Have no idea if I'll actually finish it. I'll prolly release what ever I got at the end here. I'm mainly taking this as an opportunity to do synth-y stuff and learn some of the plug-ins I've got.

I like the riffs on Idol Eyes. I think if the drums and everything were more in time with each other. Btw, I remembered that a way you hear the click over the drums is to wear earplugs turn it up really really loud so that it's clearly heard over the drumset.

Love Ballad #282 is really cool.
