Boku no Hero Academia
« on: June 30, 2016, 07:19:49 PM »

Does anyone else read this manga?

I've got to say, for a story based on inheriting the mantle of current heroes, as a shounen manga it does a great job of inheriting the title of one of the new mangas for the generation.

I really think the anime should've been done better - the first two episodes at least - but in any case I really like it. It's got some basic plot points, but really shines when it wants to.

The latest chapter has had some really interesting things going on for it. It was sort of a twist for me too

Spoiler
I thought All Might would be killed off

i have reduced my anime watching to virtually nil, to give me more time to draw manga. i prefer reading manga, and i do that more frequently now i have the extra time as well :P
was it any good?
i mean i know the story but was it worth watching?
i did plan on watching it sometime :P

I feel like this arc is a 'necessary' arc more than anything haha. It's going real shounen with the whole competition thing. Still some interesting powers there. The OP dude totally looked like Jotaro from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

Also, mellorine! *nosebleed at the latest character*

Will Deku finally stomp Bakugou to the ground like he deserves? His indecisiveness has got to go somehow in some way.

I was dissapointed by All Might's conversation with One For All. I thought he'd really be more conclusive with his goals and the like.

That chapter with the clone-dude was also pretty interesting. You usually see hero centric stories focus on their problems, their scandals and their environments, but people rarely talk about what the villains are doing meanwhile or how their society is affected.

Still really like this as one of the new-school shounen. It has that nice level of cool and weight that a lot of the others don't bother with.

No sympathy for Kaa-chan there, but it is an interesting conflict to bring up. Just hope Deku doesn't get too badly penalized for this.

Wow, two insta-kills. I did not see that coming at all, especially from Boku no Hero Academia.

I like how even the villains have some in-fighting going on. It really adds a much needed new dimension to all of this.

I have no idea how Deku is supposed to match up to the likes of instant-disintergration power...

OH! Are you guys up to the latest part when Bakugo and Deku "take it outside" i have been waiting for this to happen and it did, it was just a lot shorter than I had figured.

Yeah I thought it was pretty short too. To be honest I don't think Bakugo should be a match for Midoraya. I mean come on he can't be that problematic when it comes to speed right? I don't understand. But he's got to have a rival, I suppose.

I kinda thought that would be that the greatest opposition to speed would be strength, not really to do anything with personality.

I do have to admit that Bakugo's constant problem is the only thing that is feeling the rivalry which is not very reciprocal?

If it was like a rivalry in Bakuman where each character faces off it would make sense

I laughed at that too.

Also, it looks like it's going to be a rescue arc. I'm glad that they're progressing as heroes, and I know as a shounen it can't be helped, but I need some more development rather than a fight > healing wounds and training > fight. I need some plot progression.

It's interesting how the side manga is sort of OK and adds to this story itself.

Necessary chapter, when you look around it, Nighteye never once considered the Eight Perceipt and the League joining forces...

Duh, Deku and All might would have the same madness, who do you think gave him OfA?!
