TheClayMaker's Art

I've been drawing less and less recently. Let's hope I can get back in the habit.

Here's a rough sketch I did of Finn, the MC of the story I'm working on.

These are part of my “draw everyday” initiative I’m trying to start. The idea is, hopefully, by getting back into the habit of drawing, my skill will improve. I’ll probably finish these soonish just to make myself do some line work instead of being lazy and only doing sketches.

that's a great initiative, and you are right in that you will improve for sure if you draw every day. I look forward to your progress!

I found a site that has a decent library of reference poses. That was very helpful in getting these drawn.

I love the energy that your sketches have Claymaker. Somehow even more than the finished products some times ( though the referenced gal turned out pretty dope! Good stuff!

Finn looks like a cool person, and I like how you don't shy away from hands, feet and foreshortening.

Who's the battle-axe dude?

She’s an unnamed character I came up with a while ago for a story I never actually wrote. She’ll probably be in the story I’m working on now, if I can find a way to get her in the story organically.

Was bit of a slow day at work, so here’s a few doodles I did to pass the time.

I've been trying to post an image for three hours. I keep getting a 500 error when I click post or preview.

nice doodles, are you aiming to draw a certain number of figures? I see you have numbered them.
and cool character. Nice to see you're drawing the underlying pose first. it really does help to use guidelines.

I’m not entirely sure how many poses I want to do. I’m numbering them more to keep track of progression, to see how I’m improving and where I can still improve.

Also, thanks. I think I’m getting back into the swing of drawing again, so there’ll definitely be more of this stuff coming soon.

Well the more the better when it comes to practice and improvement!
For keeping track of progression, you might also find it helpful to add a date, not necessarily on every page, but here and there so you know when you drew it.
