@Shane It's only one way of doing it. Some people just draw without bothering with body constructions.
It works for me might not work for others.
The head.

Facial features have their own little steps.
Draw over different styles and find your sweet spot.

I agree. It's amazing that you've grown comfortable with the human anatomy to the point where you can pull something like that off and have it look natural.

I tried the technique you use for heads and sure enough, it made it easier for me.
I think the other takeaway from it though is that now I know where to put the ears every time.

My tablet stopped working. It's been broken for months. I just come to terms with it. until I buy a new one I'll be using pencils and copy paper. which is fun actually but I need a proper traditional tool for it
Tenma from monster.

Characters design ideas

Digital drawings

Sketch hoping to color later.

I'll try to make something about drawing light and shadow. Nothing deep, just an idea.

Your talent with traditional art media is amazing. It kinda inspires me to maybe give traditional work a try again. =)

Killer B Thank you! In digital coloring, needs some methods and getting used to it. I still don't fully understand most if it.

SaiHawkeye yea Its fun. just find the tool that feels right and go for it.

Yea. I made a huge mistake practicing drawing with the tablet only. everyone said to practice traditional first but I didn't listen.
My hand is much more staple steady with a pencil.
Now I want to buy a sketchbook micron ink pens and Copic markers.
I hope the screen tablet is a good mix of digital and traditional

I look around me for ideas/designs and play with it.I used to draw the characters first then think of a story for them

Penance fanart

Trying to understand light and shadow.

Very good on the light studies! I see a lot of new people often forget about the refracted light, but you remembered to put your dark shade one contour area away from to allot for the refracted light before the cast shadow. Great value stuff.

Yeah, I think I used to try to tell people that traditional is good for you, but at some point I just came to accept that the digital medium as opposed to traditional is as different as crayons and paint--they take different skillsets anyway. I don't think there's a problem in having your skills put more in one basket than another, but as artists, it tends to be a little more helpful to not put all your eggs in one basket, as the saying goes. More versatility means more moneymaking possibilities.

They also say, Jack of All Trades, Master of None. So have to settle for one medium eventually. Trying different things will help find your favorite eggs basket.
