Quick sketch of Azusa jamming on the beach "Another Girl" style.

I defiantly drew her guitar too small, she looks like Robbin Crosby holding that thing. I couldn't find a good picture of someone playing a Mustang. I could've used my Strat and twisted it but I felt a little lazy. Just a quick picture.

nice last manga page, your shading is very neat as well , which adds to the overall niceness of the page
i think your drawings would look better if your final render (inking or whatever) was less sketchy, i know its pencil, but around the arms and hands youve got thicker lines like you changed your mind slightly on how you wanted the placement. if you are avoiding erasing or keeping it to a minimum for speed then thats understandable, but i thought i would mention it anyway :P

yes possibly i probably tried to speed read the page so my brain jammed on the angle changes :P

and nice last drawing, it looks really balanced. the low angle means we cant really see much of the background though, which is neither good not bad just saying :P
i think your proportions are getting better as well, keep it up :P

The Manimal's Sunshine Run - Day 1 : Chika Takami
« Reply #32 on: June 21, 2016, 03:33:36 PM »
They would if I get good at inking, I still am overly used to drawing this way so when I make things refined it looks quite terrible. That is something to work on, and I might ink that comic so...we'll see. As for erasing I generally don't eraser much to not destroy the picture and have to redraw things. I don't have tiny enough erasers...it's also a lazy thing for sure.

OKAY SO HERE IT IS! The Manimal's Sunshine Run

Building up to Love Live! Sunshine!! which begins airing the first of next month I will be trying to draw each member of Aqours everyday. We'll see what happens.

Day 1 : Chika Takami

Day 2 : You Watanabe

I don't like how this turned out, it's a very poor drawing that falls apart as it goes down. The "Koi Ni Naritai Aquarium" outfit is very nice and looks great on You but I had trouble with it. I only put this up to make it in time, it's a back-up of sorts.

You's outfit looks like something I'd totally wear on a femme day. Super cute! I can see what you mean about not being satisfied with the overall turnout, though. To me, her eyes look a little derpy and off-center.

and they are to! That's an issue with my guidelines, it's the same deal with Chika above and...everything in this thread. Another thing to work on for sure. Ya I don't like this one but if you do a 9 day challenge and drop out after 1 day then...you know.

Ah, I understand. For me, it helps to keep in mind that generally speaking, although it's quite flexible, as with all guidelines, that the corners of the mouth tend to be a pretty good indication of where the pupils are in the eyes. I use that to then guide iris placement.

I hope that helps a bit.

The Manimal's Sunshine Run - Day 3 : Kanan Matsuura

Day 3 : Kanan Matsuura

Not a very good drawing, I think I messed up a number of things. The issues with daily quick thing like this. I searched a while for the perfect reference picture and I found a good one but a lot of it was cut off and the girl in the picture was wearing a sun hat which covered most of her face. I had to get crafty...

Neat pose.
I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way - so I stole a bike and asked God for forgiveness.

Day 4 : Riko Sakurauchi

I have a feeling Riko, or Yoshiko, will be my favourite. This drawing is another not good one, I just quickly did it so I could get it out before tomorrow. These daily challenges bring out the worst in me, but I also wouldn't have drawn a thing today otherwise so atleast there's that.

nice poses on the last two.
i think your drawings would look better if you drew on a larger scale and shrunk down a bit.

and having a challenge forces you to do work, i agree :P

The Manimal's Sunshine Run - Day 5 : Ruby Kurosawa
« Reply #41 on: June 25, 2016, 04:04:41 PM »
I do size them down a bit actually, but I only draw on normal paper so it's not too large. I find when I draw bigger it looks much worse. Though when you downsize a big picture, yes it looks much better.

Day 5 : Ruby Kurosawa

Another day, another idol. Unlike the other ones I only did this in one take, I was like "good enough". Not a great drawing.

yeah i know what you mean, i can hardly draw full size on paper either but thats more because i dont like to waste paper and i cant get over it :P

although you say that last one isnt so good, i dont see anything particularly wrong with it. the post is a little off balance though, she looks like she is falling to the right :P

Ya I dunno, I just thought it looked kind of strange.

Day 6 : Hanamaru Kunikida

Hanamaru is the girl that sticks out the least in Aqours. But reading her bio she seems to be amusing, being all out of date and never having used the Internet. My picture is meh as always.

Day 7 : Dia Kurosawa

Meh this one blows as well, daily challenges you know, two more left though. Her 'Torikoriko PLEASE!' costume is pretty bare as well. At least what I could make out of it on the single cover. I choose an awful pose, I didn't realize it covers her mole until it was too late.
