Christmas Plans
« on: November 07, 2015, 05:16:52 AM »
So, in typical Christmasphile fashion we as a community should probably have stuff done for Christmas time. There are already some fun ideas I've heard of, but if you've got any suggestions or plans of your own then be sure to post them!

I'm at the very least hoping for short christmas holiday stories for the raiders. That was always fun to see. And I do remember a Secret Santa art trade thing that went on. That one worked out pretty great too.

So share your thoughts!

An art secret santa is a brilliant idea! I'd particpate....if I could draw! :(

Well  we've been brain storming  for the happy hour so potentially more contests/themed episodes to come!

As for myself. I'm down for a raider story and a xmas story omake for one of my own stories.

Might as well add you to the list for laughs and kicks mwahahaha! How about writers write a tiny story for whatever they recieve, or a greeting card?

Yeah, counting on Happy Hour for much awesomness. Was it Coryn who volunteered to read some Christmas stories? Either way you and No1sey are going on the bill again. The voice acting is necessary.

Omake. If my art is suffecient let's make one dude. They can be 4komas right? That I can swing.

First we'll make snow angels for two hours, then we'll go ice skating, then we'll eat a whole roll of Toll House cookie dough as fast as we can, and then we'll snuggle.

We should try another Writer's Relay of some kind of Yuletide theme. Maybe like a Mall Santa disaster or something, I dunno.

Secret Santa Art Trade is a cool idea, maybe another themed Art Contest as well.

Cookie dough was made to be eaten like that. Now if only I could be sure to see snow where I'm from

Hahahaha the writer's relay could go all sorts of ways. That is definitely happening.

As for Art Contests *cough cough* I don't know how the prize thing works, but that'd be really great to have.

Did someone say... Christmas plans?! I'd like to add an excited Christmas gif but I dunno how from my phone... Just imagine that gif of Buddy the Elf jumping up and down and screaming. ::)

@Coryn: I'm in! I already have my favorite childhood Christmas story picked out and ready to read. ;D

I actually had an idea for a drawing contest... Instead of the usual "draw a Christmas person/scene," how about draw/design a gingerbread house?

Party! Everybody!

What do you mean Churro? The whole contest will be drawing a gingerbread house?

Well, my original thought was an actual gingerbread house competition, but I figured it'd be a lot more inconvenient  and limiting to make actual gingerbread houses to submit. ::) So I was thinking it might be fun to do a gingerbread house design contest instead. It would be mostly judged on creativity probably, and you could design/draw anything as long as it is gingerbread and looks at least vaguely like a building.

My crafting skills are next to zero, and forget about cooking, but if there are other members who could do something it would be pretty fun to show off such skills. Post it forward I say (either as drawing or crafting) How long does it take to make a gingerbread house?

Yeah I was thinking that, it might be better for everyone just to make it drawing. ::)
Depends on if you bake it yourself or not. If you do, it can take all day. If you buy a kit though, so it's pre-baked, I'd say it only takes 1-2 hours to decorate depending on how complex you want it. :hmm:

Hm hm, maybe we should do just a general MR Christmas Bake Off! Not just gingerbread houses, but cookies, cakes, anything Christmas and baked. :hmm:
