Really love that character design Echo! Such a simple costume but he bleeds personality and mood. Awesome.

Great action pose of Link there too. Love those circles that really place his feet in space. Like how sketchy and yet structured it feels. I'd love to draw like that!

Wahaha, I can see how that looked like a kinda BOTW Link  My bad, yes it was supposed to be my character, Roun. Although, that's a thought. I haven't really done fanart before. Hmm...

@Bobby Best boi up there with Kinan! QwQ

@Lego Thanks! That's what I was hoping for. My favourite character designs are those exactly.
Sketchy for life >w<b The circles are actually really helpful especially with foreshortening.

Evening wind down sketch.

Jeez that's a mood if I ever saw one. Poor gal.

Sort of imagine it as a super artsy video 2d puzzle platformer where your character can't really do anything and you have to keep to as much light as possible to avoid them freaking out.

Yeah digital is fantastic for not smudging your work and also for adding colour.  Great sketches and cool creepy piece too.

Thanks for the game idea Lego I might just do that :P

Somehow that idea sounds hilarious. Usually in games involving darkness and light, you're trying to stay in the light so you don't get killed by things in the darkness. But staying in the light for another's sake? XD Would love to see how that works out.

Definitely taken a liking to platformers recently. Ones like Hollow Knight and Ori and the Blind Forest really put a neat spin to them compared to the days of Mario Bros on the GBA.

I want to play both of those some day. Shamefully I haven't haha. I love unique platformers though. Child of Light was not super super innovative but I loved how different it was.

Gaaah how do you do hair like that! And your eyes, your eyes are so expressive Echo. Love them so much. Teach me, Sensei!

I haven't played games for forever lol. I probably will when I get more into game design, to get inspiration haha

Nice sketches, I love the hair rendering as always. Cute dragon snake thing too.

@Lego I recommend them both c: Both have neat settings and the music is great.

@suuper The games have certainly taken up my time for drawing lol. But no kidding character and setting art are always satisfying to look at for designs =w=

Thanks guys c: Y'know, I will one day make a little tutorial thing for hair. Is it the hair in general, or like the shading on the hair you'd be more interested in?

Semi-Chibi piece I did for RoinRyuu of her characters Thomas and Jasper!

For this second one I attempted to copy another artist's style that I really like (@angellmiico on IG). Learned that using a darker shade of some colour actually looks better than a flat black.

Another drawing tip thing I learned was about eyes on a face when it's angled say 3/4 or something.
Apparently it's natural to draw the far eye smaller both in width and height (which I know I'm guilty of doing). But according to the tip, the far eye should be the same height as the eye that's closer, but it's width would be narrower.

Yeah games are the enemy when it comes to time spent on projects haha. That's one of the reasons I don't play games at all,too addictive XD.

Cute sketches!
Yes it can be a style choice with how much solid black you use for shading. At the moment I don't use any, but I want to try using more black. Dark blue or dark pink works well if you use the multiply mode on your shade layer.
I think the dark colour works because in real life there's not too much solid black, there's always some scattered light hitting even the darkest crevices.

Yeah I know that thing about flat-blacks. Keep on forgetting though. I'll try to keep it in mind this time. Also drawing with white on a black canvas is fun as heck when you try it out once or twice. Just a really different feel.

Thomas and Jasper look kawaii! Love them

@suuper games are a bane to time. I keep on thinking I'll be able to make something productive like Lets Plays but nope it doesn't work out.

ahhh I haven't done white on black for ages! must do that again soon. it is indeed fun, and it's also good for reducing eyestrain haha

yeah people who can make money through gaming will always be an amazing brand of person to me :)
