Koko & Vu Chapter 0
« on: May 05, 2015, 08:58:34 PM »
Everything was burning. Smoke filled his lungs as he clutched his mouth with one hand and a large bag with the other.
Noises came from the bag that were muffled but they were noises of confusion and fear. As the man looked around the flames for an exit, two small heads popped up from the bag. One head was a little green elf and the other was a doll’s china face. They didn’t speak but looked at the man and made their own whimpering noises.
He looked at the little creatures and removed the hand from his mouth and nose to motion for them to go back down into the bag. Suddenly noises of crashing could be heard. The fire wasn’t that large yet for the structure to be collapsing.
The man looked behind him to see two figures breaking through his windows. More slamming and crashing was coming from his door. The man looked around frantically on the floor and finally saw what he was looking for.
He started digging through the rubble to reveal a trapdoor. He did a small fist pump in triumph and set the bag down to open it. The movement of the bag caused a stir in the bag. The man opened the door and grabbed the bag. What he did not see until he threw the bag down the trapdoor was that a little patchwork doll had popped his head out and the sudden jerking bounced him out of the bag.
The man realized this after he threw in the bag and cursed under his breath. He quickly grabbed the little doll which made a surprised “Mm!” Suddenly the man was grabbed from behind. They had finally broken in and to make matters worse the flames were growing larger.
One of the intruders had grabbed him while another opened the trapdoor and snatched the bag he had thrown down. The man’s eyes widened and suddenly he began to struggle against his captor. His captor chuckled at his efforts and began moving him towards one of the openings.
Suddenly, the man dipped his head down and placed the little patchwork doll near his lips. He then flung the doll away from himself and lunged toward the bag.
Suddenly, the entire house was enveloped in flames from an explosion. The flames had reached the gas in the back room. The explosion pushed the man and intruders back and the little patchwork doll out of one of the broken windows.
The doll flew out of the building and bounced slightly on the ground. When it finally stopped it got up quickly. The man was nowhere to be seen for the little doll, and all that could be seen was the burning house.
“Mmm!” the little doll said. But no response but the crackling of the flames came.
Suddenly the house was filled with thick black smoke choking the flames into silence. The smoke then formed into animals with glowing eyes of varying colors. They all let forth terrifying cries to the sky.
Three people emerged from the house running in varying directions. A smoking eagle came forth and grabbed one and took him to the ground. A wolf of the same substance ran after another while a swarm of smoking bats ripped the final one to shreds.
The little doll saw these creatures ripping the humans to bloody piles. It ran. Ran far away from the smoke. From its home. And into a world of unknowns.
