how do your family react concerning your manga passion?
« on: February 28, 2009, 05:07:36 PM »
the question is simple:
how do your family react concerning your manga passion?

do they like manga?
do they reject manga?
do they think it's only a mode?

my parents don't read manga but they support my drawing.
what about your family?

Damn, my father really doesn't care... Making me angry >:( Always if I'm trying to say something about manga or a something that I've drawn (?), he just ignore it and go to another subject.... (How I feel)

My dad says he could care less - but I always catch him watching anime when I have it on the TV and he makes no effort to hide the fact that he's impressed with my drawings (probably because no one else in my family can draw beyond stick figures so we can't figure out where I get my artistic abilities from :laughing11:).

Mom is actually quite enthusiastic about it.  So is my 10 yr old nephew.  He's pretty good at drawing, too, for his age and is asking me if I'll teach him some things about drawing in the manga style.  His brother and sister are always asking me to print copies of my line art so they can color them.

My sister (their mother) and her fiancĂ© both think I'm just weird.  But I know they only say that to annoy me.
