We need an on demand Printer
« on: January 21, 2015, 09:37:18 PM »
Since we no longer use our old printers we need to find a good online on demand printer. Those who will print and send copies of our Anthologies on-demand.

01) Since this is an none-profit project we need to find one with little or none upfront fees / deposits / down payments.

02) We have to keep book price and shipping to minimum. Preferably less than $5 per copy.

03) I guess it would be cool if we can sell both printed and Kindle version. or have the e-book version available for free.

I found 3 printers who might be good for us,

Plz check these guys and tell me your opinion about them. If there are any other good printers then post about them too.

I'll look deeper into these and give you my opinions on them once I do, but for first impressions, CreateSpace drew my eye because it's an Amazon company. I am a faithful Amazon shopper and Kindle owner so I obviously trust them to be a safe and reliable company, if that helps you any.

CreateSpace is a popular Choice but I know Amazon is more keen on Kindle products than hard copy stuff when I comes to CreateSpace. But it's been a while since I checked them so maybe things has changed now.

I wonder if we can offer free e-book version so everyone can get the book, even those we can't buy the hard copy.

Thanks Churro. We will need to do some research about these sites. I hope others will able to help too.

I'll go ahead and agree with MissChurro. I'll pick CreateSpace out of the three. But if possible, I would like to know more about their publishing rights policy.  :hmm:

If we use a printer like that we have to sell the book. So we usually set the lowest price we can.

Blurb or Create Space would be the ones I would go with. The prices per copy are roughly the same as is the layout from the looks of things. The only thing is Blurb didn't show any shipping costs, whereas Createspace did (About $5 to Europe/UK).

I'd lean towards Create space because of that. Is there an option to publish both as an E-book and a physical copy? since that would eliminate shipping costs for those who prefer digital versions.

I think with CreateSpace  we can do a Kindle version. But I don't think they let you offer it for free though.

not in the general populace (yet) but plenty of MR members bought copies in the past. In fact I have the two previous antho's sitting on my self just next to me. It's fun to see that physical form of your work.

Create Space does seem like the legitimate choice
