How to post images!

Hello, everyone!
It's been brought to my attention that we don't have one specific thread for how to post images, so I'm here to fix that!
So for those who don't know, here's a few ways do it!

The first way:

Step one: Find your image! This way will work on pretty much any site you want to take an image from. I'm going to use Google images. This works for gifs too!

Step two: Right click your image and press "View image."
If you're using Google images, there's also a button on the side of the image that says "View image."

Step three: Copy the URL.

Step four: Click the "Insert image" icon.

Final step: Past the URL in between the image code.

And here you go!




The second way:

Step one: Find your image and save it this time!

Step two: Go to a image hosting site such as Photobucket or Tinypic, and press "Upload image."

Step three: Copy the IMG link and paste it!

And you're done!

How big does it have to be?

There are no strict sizing rules, just try to make it large enough to see clearly, but no so large that it fills up the whole page. You can take a look at some member galleries to get a good example.

That's strange, it's supposed to show the images themselves (the gifs in the first post are posted using each method, for example.). Which method did you try?

i know this sounds dumb but is there another way to post your art without it being on public on another site? i was using photobucket but its been giving me the finger for a week now

The way the site works is that the picture needs to be public in some sort of way to view it so that some sort of bot can read the picture you sent. Otherwise the site your picture is posted on blocks it and therefore isn't viewable in the forum.

I personally used DeviantArt's Scrapbook to post my images. That way, everything is hidden from the public unless you're intentionally searching for the user itself. Ergo, if no one knows your username, there's little else they can do to find your art.

Can this site do image hosting so we can humiliate ourselves with just a drag and drop?
I just dragged photos of "that one time I tried to draw and am willing to talk about", out of my phone.

None of the links are working anymore. It says "please update your account to enable 3rd party hosting" so can you please fix them all?

^^^ To further BobbyJoe's warning, there are several viable options (for all you PB users out there)

Not many image hosting sites have done what Photobucket did. Since now PB is not an option, it is recommended that you instead look for said sites. The majority of the community now uses IMGUR, but feel free to choose whatever suits you.

You can also use a free cloud sharing site as well. Many sites support images, such as Google Drive. I don't use this option, but I'm sure there are others out there.

Communities like DeviantArt are also reliable ways of permanently keeping your photos without potential for loss.

Choose what you think is best for you in the long run, and have fun drawing guys.
