very gorgeous!
I think maybe a little too sharp detail on the stomach through the clothing maybe. face is very realistic and the lighting is great too. her right hand and wrist look a little too small I think.
you seem to like giving yourself foreshortening challenges though, both the ippo one and this one have arms facing along the line of sight. done very well though, it doesnt feel out of place.

that was a quick hiatus tho :P
I don't think any style of art doesn't belong here. we'd love to see what you do regardless of style. looking forward to seeing your art change!

Suuper thankyou my friend, I'll note down the main points of your critique, appreciated
Yeah it's my attempt to 'engage' the viewer more by introducing that Z axis more in my work.
I initially had no intention of returning so soon... but I realised I can still work on what I need to work on and post along the way on social media, keeping that engagement going.

Thank you so much for the feedback Suuper.

May be my fair share of fan-art done for this year, but enjoyed this one.

I'd totally read that magazine. I really dig the sharp features, especially on Elsa. Disney is a little too "circular" and "cutesy" for my tastes, usually, so it's a nice change.

The chest area between collarbone and breast on our good friend Lara there looks a little awkward, but it's kind of hard to tell, since the values are predominantly so dark. A little detail is lost there. But hey, she can still kick me in the ribs any day, and I'd still thank her for it.

very nice. lots of lighting and depth going on here, and foreshortening once again done very well :P
the back lighting is pretty well done. I agree with Mahlua about the collarbone to breast area, hard to say what feels wrong though. maybe it should be a bit darker still, or a bit of a gradient, as that area looks incredibly flat, like her breasts are just stuck on :P
well done on a difficult piece though, I can't say I would have fancied doing something so difficult haha

Aphrodite/Venus - not manga related but thought I'd post anyway for late valentines x
Not really interested in being to impressed with current work, just pumping out stuff and taking note of the lessons learned along the way.

Self notes here: not to shy away from darker values, better edge control, and for accessories to make sense (scarf  )

Onto the next!  :sheep:

nice piece, very difficult lighting direction and colours you had but it came out alright. as you say, a bit darker would probably have looked better for the shades.

It would also be nice to use some red hues on the skin. There are particular areas of the body that are more red like the nose, the cheeks, the elbows, and the tips of your fingers.

You might even see some the red from that cloth reflected onto her skin.

Aphrodite/Venus for Valentine's Day makes a lot of sense, and I'm glad that we've been graced with it.

I think to me what makes the image look a little odd is that the colors on the shading and highlights are very saturated in their color. It kind of conflicts with the skin in some places. But hey, I don't want to critique the image to high heavens so much that it gets difficult for you to look at. It's still good.

That's a fantastic observation on your part, mahlua

I had seen a video from KNKL on the colour boomerang as opposed to doing my highlights less saturated and my midtones more saturated I flipped, it round, right now I think more than ever I'm trying to test/push things - (albeit even to the point of 'incorrectness') to find things I would want in my final style.

Thanks for dropping by!

Noted!  8)
Nicely spotted on ambient light, usually my fave part of a piece and I neglected/forgot about it here, thanks for the reminder!
