Oh man, Red Dead Redemption 2 is just killing it.

Like, everything you do matters. Little decisions you make on one side of the map during a random side mission creep up again during another random side mission. Characters remember you for the little things you say or do. It's crazy.

Even the people milling about your camp. They'll go into some line as you walk by, that at first you think is just going to be some sound bite that you're going to be real tired of come the end of the game, but instead it turns into a whole conversation about something you or another character just did. It's crazy detailed this game. Really feels like a living world, and not just a video game world dressed up like one.

Will review stories upon request. My latest arc: http://goo.gl/KYgsfF

Beat Shadow Of The Tomb Raider after on and off play.

You know, the game was pretty fun. I have my issues with the story and how Lara felt unconnectable as a character in this game as she turns into Rambo and becomes a stealthy murdering machine, but I can't deny how enjoyable it felt. It looks amazing, the environments are excellent and the story keeps you going. It has some puzzles and some of the tomb sections where quite remarkably especially late game. There are all the optional tombs and little side quests that I kind of ignored, so I only finished the game with about 50% completion! It's amazing how great the game looks, but it plays a little wacky at times. The close quarters combat is awful and I wish there was better melee in the game. The focus is on stealth but any of the combat in small spaces was a little annoying. The final boss fight was messy and kind of...poorly done.

There are good moments in the combat, and though some of the platforming can be wack, it feels good when you get going. Though the game can be too easy at times on normal difficultly, it really leads you along at times, even going as far as to help you ahead a bit if you die. Seeing as I've never played a Tomb Raider game before the 2013 one I can't compare to anything but I find these games to be fun action adventure titles with some great set pieces and fun. This is a good $20-30 game, one to get used for cheap rather than full price. It gives you a cool world to play in but there was a few problems I had with the characterization and combat. I feel Lara's character in the game has a strong disconnect from her killing machine actions. Still worth the play, just should've waited to pay less that's really all.

So I started playing Tomb Raider Underworld and thought I would be making a great post about the game after presumably beating it today. I figured it was a really great game and though buggy at times it proved to be a great challenge with legitmently great and clever level design and super hard but rewarding to figure out puzzles and platforming.

Than came the Southern Mexico level. At first it was fine, the rainy mood was great and set a fantastic atmosphere. The bike was tough and the gate was a little annoying but it all went good. Then came the four stones. Very hard but with a walkthrough, which I didn't want to use too much, it proved to be challenging but cool. I thought alright this is very hard but do-able. Then came the blue water part. Hard but if you use a walkthrough you can do everything.

THEN came the final swing.

Now I haven't played a lot of hard video games since the PS1 era. Sure enough I just kind of stopped playing games that where too hard, and even ones like Halo Reach and Halo 4 that I solo'ed legendary I just used videos to help speed run, and Halo CE Anniversary solo legendary I got through with the infinite ammo skull for endless grenade spam. After Driver 2, the hardest game I've ever beaten, I never really moved on to something even more challenging. But this final swing is the most ridiculous and fundamentally broken thing I have come across in forever. It's insane, it's meant to make you fail. It's basically impossible unless you do every single movement correct. It's beyond explaining how it made it to the final game, it's so fricking hard I was ready to smash my controller in half everytime I died.

I don't know if I'll ever get past it but I'll keep trying. It's just crazy how the game went from so good on the Costal Thailand level to a complete and utter BS festival. I was really enjoying the game until the blue water part and this last swing is just stupid. I ordered the first 3 games, which I feel might have been a mistake. I kind of forgot there was no analog sticks at the time so the movement will be next to impossible. But I wanted to play the old games after beating the new one. and Underworld was doing great for me until this part. I hope I can pass it because I have been really liking the game otherwise.

I jumped into Love Ribbon for that sweet yuri wincest, not expecting for the characters to be hit with real-world consequences once everyone found out that they were more than just sisters. I quite enjoy VN's like that.

I played Wolf Tails after that. I was promised wolf girl action. I got wolf girl action. No complaints there.

fault: milestones 1 & 2 were some great feels-trips. Kinda slow-paced but the payoff was always worth it. The main heroine underwent some sort of dynastic ritual where the knowledge of all of the previous lords of her kingdom is zapped into her brain (for lack of a better way to put it). One of those lords was a particularly infamous queen in her kingdom's history, known for being both ruthless and heartless, but ultimately empowering her nation because of it. The consciousness of that particular queen takes over the main heroine for a while and the result is entertaining as hell.

Red Dead Redemption 2. It's pretty fun. Not a fan of some of the design choices. Having to wait for your horse in real-time is a bore. I appreciate the detail of the skinning animations, but when the animation glitched out once, Arthur just went ahead and yanked the skin right off a deer. It just kinda made me wish the animations were actually like that, quick and easy. Watching him skin a bear realistically is cool, but I don't appreciate having to wait for a lengthy animation to wrap up what the game can clearly do in two seconds. Kinda wish Arthur didn't just automatically put his guns away during long trips too. Re-arming every time is kinda tedious. It does give you a wonderful sense of panic when you're ambushed by a few thugs and realize you don't have your repeater because your horse darted off at the first sound of gunfire though.

It's hard to wear whatever you want when you want because there's apparently a "too hot/too cold" mechanic. Again, great attention to detail. Just tedious and annoying when you want to play Red Dead Fashion 2. Overall, fantastic game. Graphics are insanely good too. The lighting, weather effects, and texture work in particular are gorgeous. Bethesda usually advertises the hell out of their super special GOD RAYS (IT JUST WORKS!), but the volumetric lighting in RDR2 is some of the best I've seen in an open world game. Sunshafts piercing through trees will have this thick, flowy veil of fog sometimes. During the night, it looks especially spooky when you're walking through a forest.

Playing Red Wars in Mount and Blade Warband. I initially ended up joining the Swazi Reich to fight against the filthy communist menace, but my commander got all of us either killed or imprisoned. So I said balls to him and went full Big Boss, taking over a fortress on the island to the northeast of the Not-United-States faction. We've only got a few hundred men right now, but we're starting to take the fight to the socialist/communist factions. Then I'll get revenge on the Swazi Reich.

Got and NES a few weeks ago, I got about 9 games by now.

I like it! I really wanted to go to something dead simple, I'm sick of big cinematic games. I just want a game, straight up. No movie nonsense, just the game which is the core of these old ones. The NES controller is pretty great, the buttons are so perfect, the d-pad isn't as good but it's overall a good design. It was a good idea to buy one, the games are challenging, sometimes unfairly, but it's often your own mistakes that get you in some of these games. I wanted to go back to when games didn't hold your hand and make sure you beat them.

For games naturally I got Mario 1 and 3. How can ya not love Mario, even if the games are really hard if you played Sonic all your life and are used to that series, rather easy, gameplay. Man the hardest parts of Sonic & Knuckles are nothing compared to what goes on in these games. The first game is the one I like most since there is less on the screen, though the third controls better, but man oh man, beating either of them will be a task for me. But I find them to be super replayable and with these games you get better the more familiar you become with the levels.

Tiger-Heli is a very difficult top down shoot 'em up. You can only take one shot and you have to play the same thing over and over, memorizing where the enemies will be as you scroll along. It's challenging but very fun when you swerve around and blow up the evil tanks, boats and...people's houses? Mach Rider is...I haven't figured out that game yet, my God you just ride then you blow up, you ride, you blow up, you have to look at the top of the screen for the split second of warning you get of someone coming behind you.

Bart Vs. The Space Mutants was a game I used to play on my very old Windows 2000 PC I had in my room when I was very young. Man this game is...not good. I will have to be patient and try play more because, thankfully I played like $4 for this game...it's annoying. Track & Field was another game I used to play on my old computer, it's a button masher basically, good for 2 players. I just bought Ice Hockey, it's pretty fun. A Canadian from a hockey town should be amazing at hockey games right? Well, not really, I barely know what the game is doing vs. my input with this one, but with 2 players it should be fun.

I needed something like this I think, since I've been uninterested in playing anything more than Black Ops 4 recently. You can emulate the NES games dead easy but it truly isn't the same unless you have the controller and the terrible quality on your TV (those wavy lines!). For someone more casual like me a good pick up, play for a bit and start from the beginning when you play again type of thing is perfect for me.

Been playing through Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal. It's an enjoyable game, mission after mission of beating up multiple enemies and some really, cheaply done story telling scenes with like 3 still images over text with voice acting. The game controls pretty well, actually better than I thought it would, and it's pretty fun. It knows how corny it is and pulls it off well enough, I just hate having to play as Hibari, terrible character. I like the Yagyu and Asuka missions. The graphics are as typically okay as they often are in these games, nothing great or terrible. It's enjoyable enough so I might end up beating it.

Oddly been enjoying Cruis'n USA on the N64. It has a lot of terrible buggy bits, like anytime you run into a car and all the spinning, and all the hitting walls and suddenly zipping back to the road. But when it runs good it gives a good sense of speed and fun, even with some of the annoyingly tight corners and that tree level early on that is a pain. The graphics are kind of Sega CD in parts. I like that it's just a simple kind of racing game, it works with the N64 controller well. I also got Rogue Squadron which has been a long time coming since I used to play it on the old Windows 2000 computer in my room that didn't have Internet, just games. I haven't even seen this game in...what 12-14 years. It's um...annoying. Controls fine, looks fine, but shooting is very difficult, it doesn't help you at all so you gotta be right on point. Which is fine if you had a better stick to aim with like when I used a Joystick on PC. It's actually pretty hard, I just wanna get to the Death Star Trench level, it was like the best thing ever.

Beat Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal

I did both stories, all the free missions and both DLC characters (one was free with the game), because this game was fun enough to do everything, and plus it's not that long. Man this was a good time! Very enjoyable gameplay and a good cast of characters. There is a (little) bit more to it than just boobs and button mashing. The characters are actually pretty decent and there are some good little bits here and there. The combat is fun and every character plays different. Rin is the best, she is fast and has all the good moves. Ikagura is good when you get the hang of her, and so are Homaru, Yagyu and Mirai. It's really easy to level up and the game is just the right length for me. It's not too hard, only a few missions I had to redo a bunch.

This is a great game for my trademark super nights. Something I can listen to records with and just have fun without thinking too much. Short missions and good characters. It's the best anime themed game I've yet to play, I ordered Estival Versus so we'll see how the other games in the series are. This is certainly my kind of thing. The DLC however is not worth getting. The Yumi one comes with the game, it's actually a good little story, it was done quite well and had a theme to it. It was a little too easy though but was a little satisfying. The Miyabi one though is not so interesting, her design is boring and she isn't all that unique to play as. I just wanted to do everything in the game, but for $7.99 I was not too happy with that. The actual game though, worth getting if you like these kind of things.

Got Dead Or Alive 6 and have been going at that

I like fighting games, but there are only so many I actually enjoy playing. Mortal Kombat is only with friends and Street Fighter is too much for me. and those really complex super anime ones...they always go bad (though I liked Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax). This one seems to be a winner for me. I haven't played the others but it's a really fun game with simple enough mechanics and a cast of cool characters. I basically picked Marie Rose as my absolute main right away and went from there. I love the look and feel of the game, it has great character designs and a good aesthetic, not too cartoony or "dark". I haven't picked up a lot of things in the combat yet but I feel I'm getting it down. It seems the characters all have their own things, I like to play as Kasumi and Leifang also.

I played a bunch of matches online today which was awesome, it was a real challenge for once, not just me being destroyed mercilessly like Smash 4 competitive and Ultra Street Fighter IV online. It feels actually intense and I had some really great close games. I intend to keep doing that, since it seems pretty fun. Arcade is dead easy until you go to Champ and I haven't tried the other modes yet.

The costume unlock system seems like something kind of annoying that will take forever, and ya let's not talk about that DLC. The whole clothes breaking thing isn't a bother at all to me, it just seems more random than anything. I like how the characters get scruffy and actually beat up as you go on, it makes you feel kind of badass, I think the hits and impacts are right on in this game. I'm no fighting game pro as I said but this game seems like it should give me the simple fun I want in a game like it. Certainly it's my style for a fighter and I'll just keep trying to destroy as Marie online.

Played through Senran Kagura Estival Versus or atleast the main story.

It's alright, the game has a lot of content compared to Burst Re:Newal and some different features in the combat. The unlockables and festival platforms to destroy in every level give it a neat element and I like how the special missions are laid out. Combat is not as tight and I found it to get a little repetitive. There are a lot of characters, some are cool and some are pretty bland, but pretty much all of them have their own thing or style. I liked Homura, Ikagura, Jasmine and Asuka the most. The story was kind of whatever, some fun character bits and scenarios. I found Burst Re:Newal to do just about everything better besides the content, which this game certainly boasts more of, and gives you a lot of characters to replay the levels with also. Very fun game to listen to records to.

Still enjoying Dead Or Alive 6. It gets harder the higher grade I get and I've had some pretty great fights online. It feels like everytime I lose it's because I wasn't good enough or didn't play well enough. You get a feel for how different people play the game. I've encountered a lot of AFC for 2 rounds then coming back to wreck me in the last. I still feel most of what I do is random luck of button mashing since I don't have everything down yet, and people who are good at Hitomi always seem to destroy me with the grabs and counters. But it's a fairly enjoyable game to play online. The rest of the content I don't think so much of however.
