Currently, I am playing Mario Odyssey on Nintendo Switch. I won both the Nintendo Switch and the game at a cosplay tornament one month ago
The game in itself is very beautiful: the colors, backgrounds and textures are awesome! I often stop to look around at the details (the sand, water and vegetation animations are outstanding).
It is so outsdanding I even get vertigo in some scenes!

I'm still getting familiar with the controlers but as usual this Mario opus is very funny. ^^

It took me three days, but I did, in fact, finally beat Star Ocean Till the End of Time. Whoo, man, that was a trip. I enjoyed that a lot, actually. It was so satisfying, walking up to the final boss. They did a neat little camera trick too.

Just over 60 hours of gametime (granted, I had my save file from when my disc broke, so I did not accomplish 60 hours of gaming in 72 hours) and a party at level 78 and there I was. Credits rolled, and it was beautiful. I also got the couple ending I had been hoping for, although that's not a shock considering I followed the guidebook religiously.

Probably next up on my gaming list is going back and actually playing through Persona 4 and not being underleveled and item f8cked between the boss with Rise's Shadow and then Teddy's Shadow. Or, for old time's sake, I'll go back and play Galerians: ASH again. It's been on my mind a lot, and it's not really a long game. Just a little tedious at points. Over the summer I think my goal is going to be to play through the Jak trilogy in order. I played 2 first, then 3, and I only recently found the first one at a sale.
Haha signature go brr.

Now that I got a PS4 I'm wasting more time on games.

Mostly I still like to play mindless games. I've been playing WWII a lot this week, from before launch it looked like a disaster, and while it's a typical Call of Duty game I find it fun enough. I was good at Black Ops I & II, and this seems like another one I can do well in, it's fine for a fast and simple type thing which is what I prefer to play most often. The campaign is easily the worst of all the WWII focused COD games. Ridiculous, stupid, silly, over the top, and just a boring setting. Another D-Day opening? I'd love to play a game on the Continuation War to blast the Soviets and save Karelia or something with Canada. This one is bland, and I don't even bother with Zombies. Basically WWII is just another goofy but fun COD game. Most of the maps suck though, only the snow ones are remotely interesting, otherwise it just looks like oatmeal.

Battlefield 1 is fairly fun also, it's a good setting and all. I just play Team Deathmatch in these kind of games, so I don't care about the vehicles and stuff, but I like how smooth the Battlefield games are. But I don't like how every week or so I put the disc in to see "UPDATE REMAINING TIME 9 HOURS". I try Overwatch sometimes, I know playing on console is for peasants but I don't care. The game is smooth and colourful, but not my style so much. I love the designs and overall feel of things, but the rushing around shooting things style doesn't work so well.

Nier Automata, I've played for 8 hours so far and it's fun. I'm not fond of games that take a while, normally I'll get stuck on one part that's unfun and never go back, which I'm at right now. But this one is fine, the combat is cool but the guns make it pretty boring, where I'd rather just button mash and slice things apart. I want to beat the game, but it seems like it will take so long. I got the Final Fantasty IX PS4, as it was the only slim I could find in town, so I played a bit of the game, not my style. RPGs are often too involved for me, I don't like all the inventories and leveling up business. I don't like that kind of nonsense, I just want to go place to place and progress, not run around in the same spot.

Sonic Mania is a cheap nostalgia fan game. It plays well, looks great and has classic Sonic fun but I think it's just a cheap shot at trying to be like the old games. It has some new touches but often just reuses old elements for a familiar type game. This is what Sonic is now, and even if I find the gameplay enjoyable I can't get into this game like the old ones because it tries to hard to be like something that's over. I got some other games but really I'm still very casual so I mostly just like mindless things.

Started playing Gravity Rush 2, a few hours in or so.

It's a decently fun game. It's big thing is the gravity manipulation that lets you fly around, it's a cool mechanic and it can be pretty fun to float about. Sometimes it's frustrating to aim your kicks, or even do something as simple as change your flight course, but that might just take some getting used to. The side mission where you Superman 64 was annoying as you can't really turn without stopping. It's a great use of the gyro however, very smooth. You can do some cool things.

The open world is simple and actually fun to run around in. I find myself wanting to do all the side missions, although they are mostly just doing random chores. There are some neat addition elements like the photography and mining, which add fun features to game. The main story is alright, I like how the cutscenes are told in comic panels. The characters have great designs, Kat is fun to play as. The cell shading looks good, and in general it's a detailed world. The combat is simple, with only one melee button. It can get annoying to gravity kick, as you will go off course or miss often, but when everything works well it's smooth. The combat is a weaker point for sure.

I think it's enjoyable so far though, I like the tight open world setting and the simpleness of everything, it has good design elements and the gravity elements add for interesting gameplay, even if it can be a little annoying at times. Good so far!

I got to Route B in Nier Automata and man I don't even want to play that game now. I dislike playing as that stupid guy, he's lame and I just want to play as 2B or the other cool girl. But I have to go through this first...playing it all over again. I mean it's fairly fun, super smooth and great combat. But not 9S, his combat is annoying and the hacking thing gets tiring. I want to rush this route as fast as possible, but I've not wanted to go back yet.

I still need to get Nier. It's on my list of games I want to play but won't put the effort in actually getting them. I'll get to it eventually.

I'm really enjoying DragonBall fighterz at the moment. The mechanics are fun and noob friendly, and once you get past the basics and really dive deep into the core system, theres a lot of interesting tricks and techniques involving combo structure that really takes the game in a cool direction.

My only problem with the game at the moment is the lack of defensive mechanics. I understand that the game is meant to be played aggressively, which is why they added  mechanics like vanish and super dash, but I feel there are times where it's extremely difficult to deal with an opponents pressure on block. Hopefully the db fighterz community will figure out more ways to combat this issue as the game's run progresses.

Been playing a lot of jackbox recently on steam  :ninja: It's handy that all you need is one copy and other players just need a phone to play

Now is finally a good time for the Wii U, the used prices have gone down enough. I knew it wasn't a terrible idea to buy it 2 years ago.

I played through Super Mario 3D Land in a few days, very fun game but very very easy. It's a cake walk, and if you die enough it gives you a power-up to make you invisible anyway! Even though it's simple I find the game very enjoyable, it's just a great time to play through. Finally a game I could get really into and beat! and play again for the stars even because it's just so fun. It's so hard to find a game I want to play through, I was listening along to GenoSamuel2's Chris Chan : A Comprehensive History series as I played, better than any documentary series on Netflix, seriously. Amazing production so far and an Internet age story all should know. An engaging tale and a very well done series of videos.

Mario has classic music and it's a shame to miss it but the only way I can play games is if I multi task. I knew I shouldn't bought God Of War for this reason...good but I never want to play it. I bought some more games yesterday, still have to beat Tropical Freeze which is actually a more tricky game. I bought Sonic Lost World for the sake of it, I always like a Sonic even if it's subpar but I instantly regretted my choice when I realized this was Super Sonic Galaxy and that there is a separate button to run fast, what is this nonsense? Sonic games are all about momentum, Sonic Generations got this right. I'll see how it is, I'm not too critical if I enjoy myself.

Got Sonic Mania Plus today so I played through that in just under 3 hours.

I railed against the game for being just nostalgia and built only on the old games, which is exactly what this is. In principal this bothers me but because it's Sonic...I'm just like, man this is fun. Indeed this fan game published by Sega is ridiculously enjoyable. It has such great gameplay and the graphics are fantastic. There are a lot of cool touches and bits old levels put together. I think the game should've been only new levels though, as the few in the game stand out the most for being...new. Especially the desert level. The choices for old levels where fine, Oil Ocean Zone was a surprise that worked nicely, as was Lava Reef.

The game takes a lot from Sonic CD, I wish it had the Sonic 3 double jump shield thing. The music sounds great, the new songs aren't as good but still solid overall. Aside from the main boss themes that are not very good, unlike the old games. The boss battles can be very annoying and long, like on Flying Battery. I like when the game gets crafty, such as the Mean Bean Machine bit in Chemical Plant Zone and the reversal of piloting the bomb dropping thing in Hydrocity Zone. I like Eggman here when he does his funny fat guy things. Knuckles is such a bro as well, I outta play  through the game as him, I've never beat the old games as Knux, I found it was not fast enough.

So ya they made a pretty rad game, though if they make another I'd hope for only new levels. Give us stuff like Genocide City and whatnot, like what they did with the desert level of an original ditched idea. This game had so many creative new elements in the old levels that it felt new enough to not just be a better looking version of the old games. Sonic is always the best for me, it's the series that has always been there, and the classic games are the best video games ever made for myself. Mania is good stuff to, and warrants many replays, but it should've carried on after Sonic 3 & Knuckles to make something new.

Generations had the right idea, I think it had the best Sonic gameplay ever, it got everything right and felt amazing. It'd be nice if Sega could make a straight forward Sonic game with the boast and homing attacks like Generations and Unleashed but without any gimmick.

Started playing Spider-Man on Friday.

Man what a game, this is the kind of thing I bought a PS4 for. This is why through time I've loved the Sony systems. This is the classic video game fun I haven't experienced since Saints Row The Third. It's such a smooth and fun game, it controls great, has awesome combat and a fantastic setting. I love games in cities like this, where you can just swing around and go to various areas. It's set up perfectly, going through the story while doing the side missions that expand the game. The story is cool, it takes all eras of Spider-Man, with all the Tobey movie stuff I love and the science stuff from later. The game has good down time and neat puzzles and stuff to relax from all the fighting.

I'm maybe 30% through and I just love this game. It's like all the PS2 games I loved, Transformers, The Hulk Ultimate Destruction, Driv3r and all, same type of feeling. It's an open world I care about unlike boring fantasy ones. You got the city and you got fricking SPIDA-MAN! IT'S SPIDA-MAN it sells itself man. This is such a great game and for once I actually want to beat a title. God Of War didn't excite me even though it was technically good, Spider-Man brings the pure fun I haven't had in forever. The 360 era was all the multiplayer stuff that I still play and enjoy as a brainless thing to play records in the background to. The PS3 was similar but I played some awesome games from PS Plus in 2013 and on. But this game takes it back to the PS2 days for me in a better controlling and looking modern game.

Beat Spider-Man.

So, it was pretty awesome. The story was good, it plays like the best Spider-Man movie. Everything is linked well and the emotional payoff in the end works perfectly. Some elements where a bit off, Mary Jane wasn't a very dynamic character here. She was written pretty dully, but other characters where just fine. Some missions where a drag, the stealth could be boring and easy to just zip around. It was cool the first few missions but not all of them. It sets up a lot for a sequel and the reveals in the game become more obvious as you go, but are pretty cool anyway. I liked Yuri a lot in the game, and the various clips from Jameson. So as a story I liked it, and it was very fun and engaging to play through. I had to do the classic swing through the city after the last mission, it's not Spider-Man until you dramatically swing with the epic music going into the credits.

There is still stuff left to do and I liked how the world opens up, it's a great environment to swing around in. Detailed and alive city. The combat is satisfying even if it becomes the same thing over and over. On the normal difficulty the game is pretty easy with only a few parts I had to redo a couple times. This was just a great game to play and finally something I got engaged in and played bit by bit everyday till I was done. It helped being Spider-Man, since I watched the Tobey movies a lot in the earlier days like any real 2000's kid I have a built in soft spot for Spida-Man and all the fun that goes along with him. So the game hit me on that level, same as Sonic Mania, where other games like God Of War and Horizon I have issue getting invested in. Now it can be something fun to swing around in and do the little side missions and collectables when I listen to records. It was worth full price to me, and gave me what I want in a game, but I think to someone who wants a long game or something it might be better to wait till it goes down.

So after I dunno 6-8 hours I must say, loving Black Ops 4 so far.

Call Of Duty is the best casual game for me, the games I put the most time into because they are still fun and just boom put 'em on and blast things. and if I wanna get serious I can. Blacks Op 1 & 2 are the best CoDs no contest at all for me, Black Ops 2 is the last of the golden CoDs in my eyes and what a damn great game it was, I didn't play 3, but this one is seeming to be another great entry. Instantly better than WWII, which I put maybe 24-28 hours into and found enjoyable but lackluster in many regards. It was the first I played since Ghosts which was not a great game either, though I played it quite a bit regardless.

But Black Ops 4 is giving me what I want. Now, I wish there was customization. They have the different specialists or whatever so you like choose your character and they all have different R1 gadgets and specials. I only want to play as Serpah because she's the best looking character, but a tac-insert is not always needed, I'd rather make a character to feel a little more attached like in Halo. But the new bits in the game I like. No auto heal instead you L1 it to heal, which actually works smoothly. The game wants to be more "tactical". I have a tactic in CoD, it's called run, gun and have fun. Though I did go pretty hard in the objective based modes in original Black Ops, so I might have to try those and not only do TDM...

Still things feel solid, I like the slide and you move fast. The time to kill is a little longer aside from when you are killed which seems like normal CoD where as soon as you're hit you are basically dead. The class system is like Black Ops 2 which I liked, however I can't get the diamond launchers like I did in that game without having to gold ALL the sidearms, which is lame. The perks are pretty standard and it has gun prestige like WWII. I never payed much attention to how things worked in WWII, I pretty much only used one gun in that game.

Some things are stupid like the riot shield that also has a gun. Are you kidding me? The riot shield was always annoying but now you can shoot with it? It's absolute bs! Some of the gadgets get annoying as well, but atleast there are no weird extra things like wall jumping or that useless lean in Ghosts. The maps have colour unlike WWII and are pretty good though they use a lot of old maps which feels cheap, though I will never complain about getting to play in Firing Range and Summit.

As for Blackout I played a few games and hated it because Battle Royale is stupid, I didn't like the little bit of Fortnite I played and it's a trend I have no interest in. Running around the map or 5 minutes only to get killed in 2 seconds is not fun. I suppose if you play with other people it's fine, but I only play by myself or split screen so I have no use for it. I never play Zombies either. But ya, I think Black Ops 4 will get a lot of time from me...we will see but so far it's another really fun Black Ops game. Hopefully I don't go too crazy like I did with 2...

Also disappointed in the lack of campaign. I atleast like to play a CoD campaign once and Black Ops is good for campaigns. But it's no big deal.

Making my way in Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, maybe 30-40% done the story.

I do like the new Tomb Raider series, I have not played the old games, but I find these to be fun. This game is enjoyable as well, it controls decently and looks alright. The only issues are in the story and how you have to suspend your disbelief in an otherwise realistic feeling game. Lara is just inhuman in what she can do. Nothing really phases her and she's so apathetic to all the craziness. She has a sort of shocked look like she doesn't really know what she's doing, but it seems like everything dramatic just blows over her in seconds. I just got to a character death where I cared more about it than any of the characters in the game did. I was like damn I liked that character but it was shrugged off in the game like, eh life goes on.

Still the gameplay is good, I like the climbing and jumping and the combat is fun, very limited ammo. The puzzles are neat, nothing super hard so far but you get to think a lil bit. I like the Maya theme and it has all the good elements of the previous entries, the story is just iffy for me, but I want to beat it anyway and see how it ends. I don't care for the leveling up elements in any game and I never explore, to me I just want to beat a game as fast as I can, but there are the optional tombs and stuff in this game, I did one so far, it was a neat puzzle of sorts, but I got too many games to beat to mess around.

Now I've got 31 hours in Blacks Op 4 lol, you know it makes me kind of mad how these dead simple games are the most engaging. Call Of Duty just has the best leveling up system I've ever seen and it blasts you with so many feel good points and awards. Plus when you get in a tear it feels awesome. I am enjoying it anyway, I am NOT enjoying the nonsense from the specialists like that riot shield with a gun and the trip wires and barded wire thing. I do dislike all the extra BS ways to die. I like it simple, shoot shoot. It's pretty maddening when you play Domination and you just keep getting blown up out of nowhere. I play as Seraph everytime and the tac insert is useful but I never use the gun because I just want to get the AR challenges. I like the game just not the extra COD BS.

Hiu,

You have a pretty good list, I like Black Ops 4 as well, but right now my prime game is maplestory 2.
