Although I have to say that Melvins are simply amazing. Best Melvins Album would be A Senile Animal or Houdini.
Mmmeeelllvvvinsss. I can't say I've listened to enough Melvins to call myself a superfan or anything, but I do like them and did not expect to find another fan on here. I'm going to try to see them with Melt Banana and Napalm Death in April.

Have you listened to Boris (the band)?

I have several favorite artists, It's hard to choose only one.

Tracy Chapman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Orv_F2HV4gk
Her songs hit my heart no matter how many times I hear them.

Kalafina: I like singers with good vocal technics. This group is incredible in live. I had the luck to go to one of their concerts (two years ago in Paris): it was incredible! They are also very gentle and close to their public.

Yoko Kanno: I love her work in Cowboy Behop, Wolf's rain and her collaborations with Origa.

Alanis Morissette: I love her voice , the energy and honesty of her songs.

Sawano Hiroyuki: I discovered his work some weeks ago: I really like his songs because they are rythmed, dynamic and full of energy.

I can also add Kenji Kawai, Linkin Park, Birdy...I have a rather long list.

I can't only choose one, so I'd have to choose one for each genre that I listen to, haha!

Alternative rock/metal: NateWantsToBattle
Alternative Christian: Skillet
Metalcore: XanduIsBored
Pop: ...Probably either Taylor Swift or One Direction, and that's because I haven't heard many other ones.
Rap: Manafest
J-Rock: ONE OK ROCK
J-Pop: BoA
J-Metal: BABYMETAL
Dubstep: Alan Walker
And so I strike, like an unseen dodgeball in an echoing gymnasium.

Going to update my list as I do everytime this thread pops up! I've been listening to a lot of exciting stuff recently but it takes a while for things to stick as favorites. Though I have no hesitation putting Sonic Youth among my favorites. As soon as I make a tape of a band they are a classic. Other groups are hard because I might like one or two albums but not know enough...other bands only have 1 album.

But my favorite band never stops being KISS. Nothing tops the magic and wonder of when I first started listening to them. Without KISS I wouldn't have got super into music. I would literally be a different person.
