MR on Youtube!
« on: January 26, 2014, 10:24:51 PM »
This is a standing call for videos to add to the MR youtube page. It's not the busiest place, but we're aiming to change that.

We are looking primarily for tutorials, amvs, speed paints, and reviews. Though other manga/anime or MR themed videos are welcome.

All videos must be created by you personally. Don't go around submitting other people's work. If you have a video to submit, please contact Coryn by pm.

Will review stories upon request. My latest arc: http://goo.gl/KYgsfF

Sounds like fun. Though the only thing I'd be able to do is Speed paints. I'm not in the skill area for tutorials, or amvs, and I have no idea how to give reviews.
I've also been messing around in the area of animation if that means anything.

This sounds like a cracking idea!

I'd like to see some video's from the Mod's and other prominent members of MR community. Maybe like a two minute interview, about their works or just a general introduction or something :)

This is a nice idea, I have no idea on what I could video about currently, but we shall see.

its really hard to do...i question the need to even have one. MR is still a little on the greenhorn side. Plus...i'm pretty sure there are others who can provide better tutorials. Reviews will be harder with manga and scripts and the only good ones we can provide are anime reviews as their more visually appealing.

its a fun idea, but not a good one.

Having spoken to Coryn about it, I'd be willing to do troubleshooting/advice type videos, if people were interested.

I do occasional digital speedpainting videos already, so if people wanted to submit their art to be featured, it wouldn't be a huge jump for me to do a video explanation of how I would go about colouring a piece in a certain program or even just how I would approach part of a drawing, if the original artist was having problems with something.

What say you?

I don't see this as a bad idea, If there is a larger number of videos added to the channel on Youtube, surely that would increase the exposure of Manga Raiders to a wider audience? That can't be bad can it?

What type of tutorial are you telling to submit. If it's something digital then I might help.

like i said, it sounds fun, but its not a good idea....its just a place for members to feel important, not to actually help others, there is something videos can't do and thats fix videos. sure, you can put a commentary on it, but its not going to help your video anymore.

Why are you so opposed to the idea?  No-one is forcing you to contribute or even to watch anything.

The impression I get is that there isn't a lot of demand for videos, but I don't see that there's anything inherently wrong with or damaging about people submitting them.

i'm suggesting we get popular enough for there to be demand, or else these videos end up being a laughingstock to those who actually want to improve.

look...we're most of the people here barely know how to help others, they need help themselves, unless you're a professional, what good do you think it will do to make tutorials or so and not be an expert?

we're already looking at other tutorials from other videos that most likely do things much better.

this is a "fun" project, but it could damage the site.

Doesn't matter what medium it is, just be educational!

@loren- I understand your concerns. But I really don't think the youtube will hurt us. We can't get more popular without spreading the word somehow, and even if the early stuff is bad, it'll improve. That's how growth works. I don't think it'll make anyone hate us if they see the grow pattern.

yeah..you're not convincing anyone...either way...i suggest this not be "official" or not use "MR" as the main group. also talk about hasith about this.

this is only a project to get fun. but really, what "kind" of promotion do you want.
