@ Suuper Thanks!
Haha, that's true XD They were similar to the drawings at the beginning of my gallery, which unfortunately aren't there anymore because that image service went down T_T

Have you written a story before? O:

Well I'm attracted to fantasy sci-fi rpg games like Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, and Blade and Soul so something along those lines. The idea of making of game is pretty much motivation, as you mentioned XD I can still dream and plan out the story. Putting it into a novel would be more feasible for me though.

Thanks for taking a look! XD
Yep, that's pretty much it ^^ I like to outline the parts where the shadow will go and then hatch it in.
Sometimes I do both - put the normal shade then hatch over it to make it darker.

woaw!! I just really like your traditional artworks! I also noticed that you have a special way putting shadow, you hatch the parts you want to put shadow on and I really like this style! Is there a technique for doing it or you just replace "normal" shadow by hatchs?

If you zoom in more when doing final details, you will find that you have more control because your movements can be larger.
Once I start an individual sketch, I very rarely move out of that screen so I know what what I am drawing will fit. I often glance around to see how much space I have underneath or to the side so I can sort of plan my next sketch as well. for a final piece style sketch, I do a really loose sketch like the ones in my step my step, as large as I can, often while I can see both the top and bottom of my canvas. I then either rescale the layer immediately, or do an over sketch or two and rescale all layers to the correct size to suit the canvas.
So I really recommend if you "happen to do a sketch that you want to finish", copy it to a new page of the same dimensions that you always work in, and rescale it to fit. I use either A3 or A4 @300dpi so I always know what to expect when I draw. Or if you start out to do a finished drawing, work at really low zoom to start off with the balance everything out but no details, then zoom in and you follow your previously laid guidelines. Then you know everything will fit.

Thanks Suuper XD Those were helpful tips indeed.

and a goodish redraw. took 40 minutes on this one as I was trying to work quicky to see what would happen. tried a slightly different rendering on the hair, which is a bit difficult to see in this one anyway.

I like the colours and shading on this one.
Just looking at some of your sketches and finished works, and I noticed the wrists seem a little thick a lot of times. Not sure if it's the guidelines you use? Could just be my preference (my wrists are pretty thin too).  :hmm:

Love the Levi and Mikasa stuff. Is that first coloured one... *Starry eyes* IN MSPAINT?

Love them in anycase.  You seem to be good with the grayscale ones too. Colour is your friend methinks.

Fanart is great stuff and you should never feel sorry for drawing it. Just do what you like and keep at it. The art community would be a boring place without original art, yes, but it'd be even emptier without fanart and fanfiction. Follow yer passion... And all that jazz.

woaaaw thank you!! this is so sweet!!

and noooo haha I just realized that it looks like something made on MSpaint but actually I drew it on Paint Tool Sai using the "binary" brush (I like using it!)

and, speaking of fanart...guess who drew one
yeah haha, but this time this is not a snk fanart

and the sketch

it's from Hataraku Saibou (or cells at work) a very funny and educative anime and I just can't handle the cuteness of the two main I drew them haha

and well done lego for recognizing an old raider!
I read the other two chapters, reminds me a lot of Senyuu anime/manga. very parody in the fantasy hero genre. can't wait to read more as it sounds like you got a nice story going :P

nice consistent style on all of those!
well if the original sketches are too bad to show then that's totally proof you have improved!!
I like the backgrounds on the bottom two.
and a LN or game, huh. It's good to have a far off goal, it keeps us on a feet and not stagnating :P I'm sure I've got a novel in me somewhere :P
what sort of game are you thinking of making?

Thanks Lego XD Yeah I figured ya'll still preferred the traditional stuff based on the responses haha.
I've always wanted to write something like a LN and put my own drawings in it. A project to plan for the future.

Update --

Some digital character design stuff from a story I wanted to make into a game... far ambitions, heh. I actually redrew these from a bunch of old sketches from 2010 (not showing you those  )
