The apple painting looks amazing. Aside from its shadow on the ground, I wouldn't have known that it was a painting before seeing the steps you went through.
Thank you! ^^
I still want to try something with a more painterly style, because making paintings like this one feels so mechanic =/

Oh it seems even at twelve you could draw better than me.
Thanks, you can do it too, you just need to practice ;]
Btw, have you created a thread to post your drawings here?

Nice! I like his outfit!

You made this drawing directly with a pen? Or you sketched with a pencil first?
Because if you want to make cleaner lines, I reccomend you to sketch with a pencil first and do it almost as if you're finishing the drawing. Then, when everything is ready to be inked, you start tracing it with a pen. For me, the secret to make cleaner lines is to draw with relatively fast strokes and use the movements of your hand, forearm, even your arm movement. But since it's traditionaly, there's an advantage, which is: you can rotate the paper and find the most comfortable position to draw. When you're using a tablet, it's a pain to keep rotating the drawing in the angle you want, specially in Photoshop (when you're using SAI, it's easier) so we have to rely on our arm movements and precision to draw singles lines in an uncomfortable position. At least when drawin digitally we can use the "undo" button, so we don't need to eraser our drawings everytime xD
You can also train your lines by drawing grids, diagonal grids, circles, curved lines, etc.

As for the best pen to use, I don't know which one I'd recommend  :hmm:
When I draw using a pen, I use a Sakura Pigma Micron 0.8, but I noticed that it's not so good to make fast strokes, because when they're fast, the ink "fails" (I don't know a word in English to use in this case, but I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say). People always recommend this brand, but I don't know if it's a problem of this specific pen I bought or if all the Pigma Microns are like this... I still need to find a pen that works with fast strokes on paper  :hmm:

I know what this feels like ^^''
There are two different situations for me, although they're a little similar:

1- When I want to draw and things turn out horribly, I insist a little... I make some doodles, sketches, quick and easy stuff. When I'm reeeeally uninspired, even after doing this, I give up. Sometimes, however, I end up feeling more inspired and turn some of these sketches into finished drawings =)

2- When I'm worried with studies and busy with other things, there are times I don't feel like drawing at all. In this case, most of the times I'm uninspired and I get easily pissed off when I'm doing something I don't feel like it, so I simply forget about it.

I like what you've got going here so far, especially the realistic stuff and portraiture - very nice. Concerning the most recent image however, I find there are conflicting stories going on. His chest indicates that he is extremely well trained and toned, but the limbs do not reciprocate this. If you are going to give males muscly chests, make sure the rest of the body is also built up. In real muscle training schedules you generally work on all muscles as differing strengths of different muscles can result to conflict and weakness.
Thank you! =D

Oh, I see, thank you for pointing this out! I'm going to study muscles more and then I hope I can fix this drawing. Thanks for the comment! =)

Not my cup of tea at all ^^, but i admire the design skill i guess.
HAHAHA, how do they say? "Did it for the lolz"? UAEHUAHAH, thanks for the comment, Lego! xD

Since the year is ending, it's time for 2013's Improvement Meme.
Man, it seems I've just done last year's Improvement Meme and I had to do this one already, this year passed soooo fast! o____O

Well, I confess I'm not really proud of my improvement. This was a bad year, I guess. Went through an art block, had to push myself to keep drawing because I was really uninspired... Maybe it was because of the fourth year of university? I don't know... And to know that in this year to come I still have to spend one extra year there doing stuff I haven't done in this 4 previous years, man, what am I doing with my life...

Hey there! Nice faces and hairstyles! I also started by focusing on faces, then I gradually moved to full bodies (I'm still not so good with full bodies entirely from my imagination) ^^

Just a little tip: when drawing profile faces, take care with the space between the nose and mouth, take care not to let them too close. I also struggled with profile faces, so I started to pay attention to real faces and compare them with manga-stylized faces. It helped me =)

Keep up the good work! ;]

Indeed, your work is awesome! Very beautiful drawings and painting

OMG, I have to quote this:

It's in a few hours...! How's Christmas been treating you guys so far? -offers flan-

Hijirikawa Masato!?!?!?! OMGGG, I love him, he's my favorite character from Uta no Prince-sama!
This drawing is so beautiful, he's so cute

Btw, Merry Christmas (a little late) and Happy New Year, also!  ;D

I love impressionism! I want to learn how to do it so bad! Have you seen Ashley Wood's work? I need to be able to paint something simply by getting the light right.

The christmas pic is full of story hehe. Nicely done! The apple rendering puts a lot of my work to shame. Great stuff! Interesting that you start with a line sketch though.
I googled his works now that you mentioned and, wow, they're really beautiful! I like the colors he uses, and the style of the drawings, too ^^

Thank you! What's your story for it? I asked some friends and each one gave it a different interpretation ^^
Yep, I do! A sketch, even a rough one, is always good. I've painted some things without a preliminary sketch, but it's more difficult to keep things in the right place ^^
Thanks =)

Kirei la Kill

Open it in a new window if you want to see it in a smaller size: http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/362/f/0/kirei_la_kill_by_tinosa-d6zqpt9.png

Drawing Kirei wearing Senketsu was fun! He's so serious, that's why he looks good when crossdressing (not that he crossdresses in Fate series, hehe). Yeah, I like this kind of thing, crossdressing is nice, specially if the guy really doesn't pass as a girl, LOL. I hope you enjoy!

This is the official art I referenced Ryuuko's pose and Senketsu's details from: http://i.imgur.com/VxqlogP.jpg

Nice new drawings! Stylish, as always ^^
It seems you really are a B/W fan! Hehe, I like b/w too, a friend of mine says that b/w drawings are special xD
They're really nice to play with contrast.

Looking at this last drawing, it looks like you've been studing shading, is that right? I also noticed one in which you used more colors. That's cool, too, sometimes we need to try out different things, even if we end up coming back to a style we feel more comfortable with. Just keep experimenting ;D

Nice drawings!

And Demonfyre, I know that feel, bro, hehe. But it seems you did a very good job on the shading, despite feeling lazy. I can notice the volume clearly ^^

Ohh, I remember your thread! You've posted a lot of new drawings arealdy! Studying facial proportions and drawing traditionally too, nice ^^
I noticed that you are improving, the facial features are more aligned than before and your drawings are getting cleaner. Keep it up!

Ooh, that is one foreboding picture. But I like the realistic approad personally. I almost thought the apple was real. In fact it looks so good I think I'll have one right now.
Hahaha, thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
Ohh, apples are tasty, unfortunately they make me even hungrier, so I don't eat them often D:

1st drawing: Looks good! All I can add is that the nose looks wrong, it looks like one bar where I think it should be more curved-in on the middle. Just me' two cent

2nd drawing: Amazing....
Thanks for the comment and critique, I really appreciate it!

I'll try to fix the nose soon.
Oh, and I'll fix the light's inttermittency too! I don't know what I was thinking to forget to make a slower transition in this animation  :push:

Thanks

Maybe when I start working again...
