Manga Artists Wanted / Re: Looking For Artist

Who his statement was crass, he's not entirely wrong. MR was never designed to be a place for finding commissions or whatever. We're designed to be more like a commune for artist/writers than a job board.

We only added these boards due to popular demand, and they have been roughly as successful ever sense. If you want to expand your search Vikings, I would throw up some posts on some of the more mainstream artist sites.

Well, yeah I think that's your answer then. Do a partial rebuild on him so that he's more in line with the other characters. You definitely seem to be pulling more towards keeping him alive too. My advice is to trust your gut on that kind of thing. Obviously you don't want to create a story where no one is allowed to die and the stakes just go out the window, but that balance is for you to decide. Save those who need the saving, let the others go. Let the characters serve their purpose, whatever that may be. Let them reach their destiny.

Hmm... Well, the way this King character is introduced, it definitely sounds like death is more fitting from a karmic point of view. If he's been up there killing people for a while, then it feels like it will be hard for the audience to accept him just making it through everything.

I guess the difference lies in how willing you are to write a redemption arc for him. Cause as it stands, if you just leave him to wallow around, then saving his life definitely seems like the wrong idea.

Another note to touch on I guess, is that if he's so OP that it would cause a problem, then you gotta power him down until he isn't. Otherwise you run the risk of writing yourself into a corner.

Well, the difference is that edgy teenagers and bad horror movies didn't kill 10 million people.

Of course, the original versions of the swastika (cause a lot of people had swastikas as apart of their culture love ng before the Nazis rolled along) are still used in the same way in their original cultures. If you go to Korea for instance, you will see a lot of swastikas around. A different version of the thing obviously (spins the opposite direction), but still clearly a swastika.

In short, just because someone coopted your symbol for some dumb *censored*, doesn'tean you should lose the right to use it as originally intended.

(Yo, moved this thing to the video games board)

So I've got a PS4 for this generation. Although I have to admit I don't really go in for online multiplayer anymore. It's too much of a time commitment to get good, and trying to play with a specific group is a level of coordination I just can't promise in this adult world of mine.

Right now I just finished Borderlands 2 (fun to start, ran real thing by the end when it was clear that the supposedly amazing powers your character has never evolve in meaningful way). Now I'm on to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Which of you've got a Castlevania itch that needs scratching, this is a great get to do it with. Admittedly, the controls don't feel as tight as I would have come to expect from Castlevania, but I'm also only a few hours in, and frankly out of practice. So that estimation could change.

All that being said, I am also a huge fan of the souls series. If there's anyone out there looking for some jolly cooperation, give me a shout.

I will have to check it out. If it's working for echo, is there a chance your program itself might need updating?

Hm,... I mean when you put it like that, it sounds like you're not describing an ending at all. It's sorta a weak ending if the story just immediately picks back up again right? It's more like you'd just be trying to make a sequel out of thin air. But you can put in a big time jump like that, but I would just call it a change in act. Same story, but now it's on to act 2.

In that case, I'd try and find a way to make this a true 3 act epic. It sounds like you're already wanting to go into it for the long haul. So you might as well lay out the structure. Maybe find a place to cut/skip ahead some before the one kid gets zombied. Depending how young these kids start, maybe you jump ahead 10 years to when they're in their teens, and then you can explore your characters at that age. The protagonist can be more advanced as both a fighter and as father. Make that act 2, and then at the end of it, we learn about the zombie controller, and one of the kids die. Then we get another time skip to when the kids are adults in their own right, and the father character has come into his midlife.

That way, we get to watch all of the characters learn and grow through multiple distinct parts of life. And there's the added bonus of adding a sense of continuity, because the kids will have become the same age as our protagonist by the end as he was at the beginning.

But maybe I'm spit balling too much. I just hope it's some food for thought.

It's a marked improvement! The first version definitely felt lacking on the left side of the image compared to this one. The extra shading provides much needed balance to the darkness of the suit, and is much more interesting texturally!

Yeah no, ending posting is perfectly fine. In fact I'd encourage more people do it to help give greater scope to what they're doing while on this board. It's just that I think as writers we all have an instinct to self regulate and keep the endings back as way of avoiding spoilage (assuming most have endings already in mind). But if your story is truly in development, I don't see the harm.
