Very cool! I like how the lines connect between the first and second piece. They definitely feel like a planned sequence. It would be interesting to see you expand on that with a larger canvas. Seeing as how you went I to this with the idea of 'blending'

Well, you just gotta push through it sometime. But I've found that just setting aside a few hours every Sunday will at least keep me pushing forwards. As long as you can find a time to consistently put to it, even if it's an off day, you'll get something done.

Damn bro! You've seriously leveled up a few times since you were last around! Great design on that guy. He looks like a JoJo antagonist.

Congrats Lego! There's definitely an improvement that can be seen between the beginning and the end of all of these! Some of the thumbs feel like they're about to be focused into a more flushed out piece.

That magazine run does sound interesting, although the thought of you getting back into the regular comic routine is an awful appealing one. It feels like years since you've been on that consistently (hell, maybe that's not far off). But yeah, I imagine once you're back to it on the regular, there will be a marked difference.

Oh yeah, I forgot how Tsukio was from the same area of the country as you. She's long since inactive, so who knows, but good luck!

I'm somewhat of an opposite example, but it's a similar tact. Personally I find that taking in other story telling media while I'm trying to think of writing ideas is detrimental. If I really want to get the juices flowing, I gave to disconnect myself. Cut away anything that could be distracting you in the moment, and just let your mind wander where it will.

My suggestion if you feel the same way, would be to just go out for a long walk. I usually listen to music as I go, but the important thing is that I'm not thinking purposefully. I just empty my head out and see what comes in. Just the physical distance from whatever else it is that's drawing your attention is often enough to keep you from falling right back into it. It's always harder to start than to stop after all.

Thanks Mahlua! Believe me I can sympathize with the terminology, but I figure if you're going to write a story set on a pirate ship, you gotta get the terms right. I'm doing my best to give context so that you can can figure out what's going on, but let me know if there is anything that you want some clarification on!

There is of course a time for dialects to shine through. Mainly in dialogue, but they are a tool. A specialized tool to be sure, but still a tool for when the moment calls for them. There is something to be said for choosing a narrative voice where you can drop the sophistication and just narrate plainly for a moment.

Ah, the good old "thing I found in your store that you didn't even know you had" bit. I once obtained a copy of Vespiria Chronicles that way. It was scratched to hell and completely understandable, but I did get it for free.
