Welcome to MangaRaiders! There's nothing wrong with some D&D creativity. I know I've spent some time doing the exact same sort of thing. As long as you're being creative, that's what's most important!

Welcome back! A clean(ish) slate is a perfectly fine thing to ask for. People do change after all, so good luck with the rebrand!

Welcome to MangaRaiders! Glad to see you're already engaged in a spirited conversation with Suuper!

I totally agree that you can always find a little time to be creative! I'm a writer first and foremost (or, entirely one might say), but my world was revolutionized when I discovered google docs for my phone. It definitely took some time to get used to (and I am certainly slower with my thumbs than a real keyboard), but being able to work anywhere I have signal really is life changing. The real hurdle is just committing to it at any one moment. You have to make the active decision to write instead of just looking at memes for 5 minutes.

It is 100% a departure from your regular style! Honestly I'm looking at it now and it's hard to believe you're the one who drew it just comparing it to your previous stuff. Really good job on taking a step out of your comfort zone!

God I used to have a bunch of those ball bearing maze pens as a kid. Drove me absolutely insane trying to get the thing from one end to another. I swear they weren't created to actually be solved, just to keep kids busy.

I was speaking more metaphorical there. How you chose to represent the metaphor is up to personal taste. I just mean that the experience has ingrained itself into the hero.

No worries! As long as you learn from the experience, that's what matters most.

Well, first of all, welcome to MangaRaiders. We're all happy to see you're enthusiastic. If you've got the tongue of a true conspiracy theorist from the sounds of things. Remember to have some fun while you're here though! We're a light hearted community intent on spreading the joy of creativity first and foremost.

They are awfully popular. I mean there's clearly an appetite for fantasy escapism, but not so much for the extensive world building we tebd to see in Western fantasy. Hopefully one day soon we'll see that change, because I was to see the chrazy histories the are invented for full fantasy stories.

Noticed that for sure. Unfortunately I have already deposited my secret for drawing eyes in your notebook, so I am of no further use in that realm.

Hmm... I definitely like the idea of someone being required to help maintain a sort of cosmic balance. Having an afterlife "job" or purpose is pretty solid as premises go. You see it here and there, but never often enough that it becomes cliche. Plus it allows you to explore themes about our nature. That thing that drives us to have purpose. It doesn't necessarily sound like you're taking that path, so I'll digress.

The coma/all a dream thing I definitely a cop out, but I won't say not to use it for that reason. Cliches are cliches because they contain merit to begin with. However if you're taking the approach that the whole thing is still influenced by higher beings, it seems more interesting if the coma is replaced with something more in line with that. Maybe he has to find a way to escape his new lot in life, and that involves bending his new powers in such a way that he can resurrect himself.

Just some thoughts. Good luck!

Great facial work! You really get a visceral sense for the emotions he's going through! Might have to do with a certain cartooniness your style has (in no way an insult), but the eyes capture a lot here!

- As in "one of the Wardens"?

Makes sense when you say it. Just didn't at the time. Seems like it's a sentence ripe for rewording.

Chapter 1:
- Am going for an ancient technology take actually haha. Is it too abrupt? Do you think there could be more preparation for it?

I think you could definitely have a smoother build up to it. Some sort of exposition before we're suddenly on hover bikes. Maybe talk about the level of integration there is with the surroundings.

- There was a rule like that?? I will remember that. Thanks for the tip.

It's more of a universal rule than a literary one. 'Three' is a number with a lot of meaning, but it also sounds good off the tongue. (Ready "Again, and again." out loud, vs "Again, and again, and again."). It give it a level of repetition that drills down into a readers brain.

Good luck! I can only hope I've helped in some small way!

So to me, this sounds a LOT like a personification of Death kinda story. Am I anywhere close to the money? Because if so, I definitely have some thoughts to offer. If it's just a judgement/response thing, I will have to think on it.
