Love ya last commission ( good luck with the rest!) but loving these works in particular, would like to see more of this style/look for sure
I will try to put out more works in that style. It seems people have a fondness for it, but it takes longer to finish over lined art. ^^ Thanks, dude.

nice splatoon one, it's different style to what you've produced recently and I think it looks more complete than your normal works? maybe because its less of a sketchy style and more blocky. looks great regardless.
(everyone here seems to be doing different styles lately)

It's pretty fun to switch up styles. Keeps your galleries from going stale, haha. I change styles depending on what commissioners are looking for or what genre I'm working with.

Usually, I'm stuck doing shounen work, but I had a different request recently - and it was a shoujo piece. Since it was a gift for someone, I took extra care when it came to using refs so I can grab a resemblance to the characters my commissioner had in mind.

Here's how it looks now, minus the sweet message attached to it on print. (This version is for gallery purposes.)

TK! I love your work, got a real professional look about them. Liking the blues and pinks used for the pic, you're improving - structure/form work and rendering is getting better

Well it's been a slow week, in addition to being ill. I've been doing other life stuff :P

started using my android tablet for drawing again in the evenings when I don't feel like sitting up at my computer.

getting a little more confident and starting to finally push past a couple of walls in my head that I've had for years, which is awesome. Also working on colouring and shading which I hate, but starting to get a work flow so not as much hate as last time :P

despite the fact I didn't manage Inktober's the last few days I still did do drawing so It wasn't a complete washout

nothing special

Yeah its sickness season now, haha. It's good to live a little too, rest up!
Good to see you're still practicing - what's the aim to make a small manga?
You're right you do churn out material fast - I think you could handle a one-shot pretty easy at this point, probably jus confidence now.

Very nice. The reds and purples work well with each other despite you using complimentary colours on the red(hair) and green (coat). The form on top I love. keep this up

a lovely cover page for the series hope u all like it

What I like about the colour here is you've shown the relationship between value and hue, rather than going straight down the colour triangle for darker values you've used redder hues instead, gives a better look overall.

Is there mattepainting/photo bashing here? You've done this SO well, very well done!

If there was anything I'd say the value of the guy in the front is a little too dark (his skin values) in comparison with the man beside him. The man in black is shielding his eyes and so would indicate the sun is directly hitting him, and so he should at LEAST be as bright as the gentleman beside him, in hue then at least value.

Fantastic piece

point taken :P
and thanks.

well it was slightly easier than I thought to scan my images as I forgot my printer had a scanner that is 3x faster than my normal old A4 scanner that I use, so it only took 15 minutes of flatbed scanning to get it all done. why didnt i use the document feeder and scan the whole lot in 4 minutes, you ask? well it trimmed 5mm off each edge which took off the date as it was so close to the edge and accurate recording is important to me. OCD at its finest :P

it was also a pain to get the images from imgur without going to each one and copying and pasting. I finally hacked the html with find and replace using notepad++ in a couple of minutes.

all are original sketches without reference, with the exception of the realistic portrait pages, and the skull page.
I hope to finish some of the good ones off in digital and colour.

SPOILER WARNING: hope your scroll wheel is durable :P

I'm also crunching a long term to-do of sorting all my traditional into a proper portfolio (scanning thousands of A4s) and finishing all those drawings I said I would redo in digital :P

Jesus... the sheer workload here is incredible, this is over a period of time or recently? Seeing you practice individual parts is nice to see too, as opposed to just grouping them together.

Even I'm shocked with the sheer volume here, how do you feel recently - you feel it's benefited you in anyway? Understanding, confidence, speed etc?

very gorgeous!
I think maybe a little too sharp detail on the stomach through the clothing maybe. face is very realistic and the lighting is great too. her right hand and wrist look a little too small I think.
you seem to like giving yourself foreshortening challenges though, both the ippo one and this one have arms facing along the line of sight. done very well though, it doesnt feel out of place.

that was a quick hiatus tho :P
I don't think any style of art doesn't belong here. we'd love to see what you do regardless of style. looking forward to seeing your art change!

Suuper thankyou my friend, I'll note down the main points of your critique, appreciated
Yeah it's my attempt to 'engage' the viewer more by introducing that Z axis more in my work.
I initially had no intention of returning so soon... but I realised I can still work on what I need to work on and post along the way on social media, keeping that engagement going.

Thank you so much for the feedback Suuper.

Man, I'm seeing more andmore vector style art and it's tempting me to give it a try even if just for the sake of learning, I like this piece, how long did it take?

Probably around 5-6 hours. I'll probably get faster in the future but it was a huge learning experience the whole way through, practically had to start over twice. I had spend some time studying how other artists approached certain problems like facial features. The most photorealistic work typically just maps out every single value. Imagine having a contour line project where you need to distinguish between 50 different value grades. So I went the easy route using gradients to create facial features.

I haven't been drawing much recently, but I have been working in 3D. Working on a 3D model for a character named Caroline.

Jesus, didn't know it could get that heavy for vector work, mapping out that many values? I can see why you went for an alternative.

Haha you're attacking 3d now eh, I guess it's good to broaden the horizons and gain experience across the field to see where you want to specialize in.

Elsa for now x

Hiatus has finished, having returned I feel refreshed but with a new outlook on the art direction, I'll pump out a couple fan arts here and there but I definetely want to do more angel/renaissance/classical style digital work, as well as some other stuff. Not sure if it'll belong here, if not I'll be on less but will come to support the others here regardless.

Alright I'm going to be honest. I saw somebody doing something I thought was cool so I did it too. What I mean is photo-realistic vector art. But for a number of reasons I decided it was better for my sanity to go for a less photorealistic finish.

TK, I like the style you have. You use sai for your work?

Yes, I do. :) And thank you, Noir.

wow great bright artworks!
I hope you sell the prints because they are really good :)
the manga page looks fab, although the speech bubbles look strange without a black outline. is that a popular thing nowadays?
and regarding speech bubbles again, just a preference, but I like it when the tiny pointy triangle thing is curvy rather than straight. I think thats a Japanese vs. American thing though maybe.

I think maybe the Bakugou one is too mild? I can't imagine him making such a peaceful calm expression! Those are some thin sketch lines.

The manga is a loose sample, so the balloons aren't outlined. ^^ The small, pointy tails on them are a preference: the large, swishy tails are a bit bulky for me haha.

I agree that Kacchan looks pretty mild, too! Lol. I guess he's more like a perpetual wrong-side-of-the-bed person in the mornings. :D

Post-event update: I sold out all my prints and Jobclass (Gamer, Cosplayer, Artist) pins on both days. ^^

Here are the other ones that went out on the table:

In Celebration of Oktoberfest here is Lilith, Athena, and Maya cleaning up a Cafe and enjoying down time enjoying one another company.

Good to be back, but good to see some sequential art once again! Love the last Oktoberfest Lilith, Athena, Maya trio. Good story telling without caption

wow, looks fantastic!
the folds on the clothes are great, and both them and the body is shaded really nicely. great lightning effect overall as well. I think maybe the eyes need a bright highlight in them though, that would really make it pop awesomely.

I hope the hiatus goes good, how long you off for?
You will surely level up amazingly!!!!

Suuper thanks a bunch! Yeah I enjoyed this piece for sure. Note taken on the eyes! No excuse for why I neglected them this time round. Length of hiatus is to be decided to be honest, all I know is I want to better my skills! I also passed my driving test 4 days ago lol, so I gotta sort a few things, finances etc I want to be on the road asap!

Kind words Suuper thank you dearly my friend, you'll level up tremendously too for sure trust me!

@oviumnoir many thanks :) true I hardly ever finish my work, partly because I have never felt that I was able to give it the quality that I wanted. I seen to have hit level 1 for finishing artworks now, I have gained quite a bit of confidence. as you say, its just practice and perseverance :P

latest: I hardly ever post WIPs, but this has taken 2 hours so far. a request from a friend. theme: "Young male steampunk revolutionary leader". Sounds random enough ,right?
some colours are placeholders while I outlined the shapes, don't know which ones I will change, though.

had to go through 3 sketch layers to add the detail up.

EDIT: was so excited about the WIP I forgot to post the rest of my work lol

just copies:

my own

and trying our a new hair style. let me know what you think of the hair, or anything for that matter.

For those wondering, I didnt trim this image to make it SFW, thats all I actually drew lol

I agree with Coryn's take. I do love these finished pieces/WIP indeed, love the concept design behind your character and the weaponry, maybe you should consider CD one day, some real nicec clean work from you Suuper. Good to know you're doing what seems to be commission work? Even if non-paid it's good you're getting into the habit. Let us know how this Steampunk kid WIP goes ;)

nice! looks very realistic. No idea if it's a famous person or not as I don't know that many people :P

It's MySpace Tom, lol. It's just an iconic picture since he founded the website and was the first user I think.

LOL Yeah knew who it was straight away, haha how old are you to know this? Probably my age group ;)
Ahh good times  8)
