Manga Anime FanArts / Re: legomaestro's fanart

teh coolness overwhelms me :clapping: ;) Haha, they're great art for sketches though lego. Like you said on your most recent sketch, the hand pose is strange in that one, but overall I think that they're both well drawn!

Manga Talk / Re: Bakuman Discussion Thread
« on: June 13, 2014, 02:18:26 PM »
Bakuman was once my favorite series. But some of the glaring holes began to widen as they never covered them and the story started to get sketchy. The art slowly deteriorated, and so did the story. it really ended off.

as if the series got canceled or Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata have gotten tired or ran out of ideas and ended it abruptly.
There's similar problems with Death Note's second half, I hear. . .

There wasn't really a problem with Death Note in my honest opinion. Fans hated the second half because it killed one of the most important (and most likable) characters in it's story. I think it achieved what it wanted to achieve- a manga that is different, fresh and intense. I think N and M would have been great characters if only they got their share of character development but they didn't and so people thought they were rip-offs of L.

I'm gonna agree with what Lorenx1 said though. It definitely ran out of ideas. But still, it was a fun read overall. A 9/10 for me.
I do agree with Loren's opinion on the deteriorating art and storyline. Just comparing vol 1 to vol 10, for example, there is a huge difference in the quality. Still, the story really hooked me (and still does) and the artwork is nice (generally).

Impermanence is the only thing that's permanent.

Is this your work? Because if it is, then this topic should be in the Fan Art section. But meh. I can't really comment, seeing as I'm not a huge Hunter x Hunter reader, but it's definitely interesting and the characters look pretty cool with their dynamic poses.

Yeah, I really love his work. If you're a fan of Shaft animations, there's a solid chance he did the direction. He's even directing the Nisekoi anime, which is why it has Monogatari-esque flair. To be honest, without him Nisekoi would be a complete train wreck.
Shinbo fanboi!  :clapping:
As for writing dialogue, I have pretty much the same approach as Coryn: just sit down and write it. If I know my characters well enough, it's easy, so I just let it pour out. Although it sucks when I get interrupted, becuase I have to start again. :)

General Manga writer discussions / Re: Steampunk
« on: June 06, 2014, 01:18:23 PM »
Hehe, what's it about? And steampunk is just that fun.

Have you people ever heard of His Infernal Instruments or something like that? I'm not sure but it's listed as a steampunk novel when you google...
I don't think that's a book title. . . . I mean, there's The Mortal Instruments and His Dark Materials, but. . . steampunk? >.< I'd call em fantasy!  ;)

. . .I doubt that would be possible, none of us are Ron Burgundy after all.
Completely offtopic, but can you imagine Ron drawing manga?
Anyway, I think this is a neat idea, but as Loren says it would be very hard to cover everything/only the interesting topics. I mean, covering major/general stuff wouldn't be too hard, but there's some very niche series out there and someone may cover/not cover something because they feel it has a lot of fans/doesn't have many fans, only to discover the complete opposite. With that problem, it'll be difficult to generate huge amounts of interest, because certain people like certain things, and you're never going to have everything up there - and if you do, other members will be annoyed that there's so much stuff there ('But I only want to know about Naruto and new Shonen Jump series'!'). The best scenario would be having a group of members who are interested in everything on the news, but that's unlikely. Good luck with it if you go ahead Vacant, but it's going to be a lot of hard work and will probably involve a lot of self-taste ('I don't think [insertserieshere] has a lot of fans. . .') or time-consuming polls ('Do you like Bakuman and want to hear about it in the news?'). . .
But go ahead if you want to dude!  ;)

Manga Talk / Re: Where do you read Manga Online ?
« on: May 20, 2014, 02:30:10 AM »
Well they definitely took all of their manga down at one point. They kept open the forums and stuff, but they weren't actually hosting pages due to new laws.

Not sure what country .me stands for, but i'm guessing the two sites are unafiliated.
Having just Googled it, .me stands for someone's personal site or domains in Montenegro apparently (which was soo obvious :P) Anyway, I found the answer here.
