Music / Re: What are you listening to
« on: July 10, 2017, 06:28:06 PM »
Jeez, 10 years of my life right here, this is in me-chronological order. I feel the swirling vortex in my stomach when I listen to these tracks like this. Everyone of these songs is a time, a place or an era of my life. All of them bring vivid images and memories of the times they defined. I hate this feeling you know, ha ha. Literally it's overwhelming listening to some of these songs in the right mood. It's all here.

I totally get you, sometimes I will hear a song through the radio or internet and it will bring back so much memories. I can remember the first time I REALLY got into The Offspring and how they were my favorite part of having fun. I can remember Nelly and how I used to hang out with friends and he was coming out with some good tracks. Music definitely plays a role to everyone's life.

Right now I'm stuck on The Strokes

They are a great band and I have listened to them for quite a while now.

Happy bday, have a good one~

Phew, I'll continue with my 3rd one tomorrow as well.

Nice review, pretty long and in-depth. Overall idk if it will be one I will read myself in the future, but I like the idea of it. Go strong and be sure to finish up!

Also thanks, didn't really want to write so much where it is like a synopsis, but more of a general outline of what to expect.

Bartender(2of3 reviews)

Rating 9/10

Bartender is a very lively manga which is pretty short and tender to the point, but gives a great vibe overall.

The artwork is pretty good for what it is and mostly it takes place in of course, a bar. The overall story line is pretty easy to dish out in which customers come in and a story behind them is told. Generally simple and easy to grasp yet every story told is with uttermost the greatest presentation for such a simple thing as bartending.

Though this bartending is an art and the writer obviously has done his fair share in research or even worked as a tender himself. I believe this may be one of the better manga I have read so far. I enjoyed every second of the pages read. Go read for yourself this is a definite piece of art.

Nice art piece, words of advice though, work with the fabric along the endings of the jeans. They usually don't just lay flat and have some sort of ruffle or bump to indicate the resting along the hips. Your hands could use some work as well as stated, but otherwise it's a pretty solid piece.

*Gaff posted something pretty good as well.

I've read that and I do say it's generally a solid piece.

Tekkon Kinkreet (1of3 reviews)

7/10 Rating

Tekkon Kinkreet is a very different stylized manga in which the creator didn't go with traditional manga feel and is styled after european arts. The characters and everything portrayed aren't beautiful and in fact the story is about a dying city.

To start the art is pretty amazing for what it did. The backgrounds are amazing and the characters are specially designed to look like normal people and not super model always good looking people. I specifically enjoyed that everything they did was not a copy and pretty original.

Now for the story line it was random at times, but essentially it was about a poor city and a new generation of people are trying to model the city into their own view. Essentially the rich coming in to feed off the poor and beat away any "stray cats" or homeless people to make the city look better. In fact I have never read anything such as this and will say it's a decent read.

Only thing that bugged me is the irrational movements the manga took, most of it threw me off, but for the most part I stayed in to the end. Such as the story branched off to other people which made it seem like it was filling holes to make the manga longer. Overall the extra stories were ok, but it threw too much interaction everywhere in which you couldn't connect fully to a single character.

Overall a pretty good read and I would recommend it as it is a short read.

*(This wasn't on the original list so if the main person can throw it up there as my recommendation that would be awesome)

Phew got 1 of 3 done.

Hmm, I'd like to read some of that story if it's complete :D. I'm currently in a reading fad right now where I'm literally reading books nonstop.
