We live stream our Mangaforum podcast through Twitch - Basically live review a manga we read each month and welcome others to participate in our discussion about manga and anime (minus the pervTrolls) - Maybe see you there! https://www.twitch.tv/mangaforum/videos/uploads

These are fantastic.

When I was about 15, I was in a bad mood, sulking with my feed up on our glass-topped coffee table - mum comes in and asks me to do something completely reasonably; I huff angrily and, in defiance, slam my feet down, still with my school high heels on,  momentarily forgetting the glass...the whole thing shatters and theres a split second of mutual shock between me and mum - The atmosphere in the room instantly changes as my mum swells with rage and i scramble to apologize and also get out of her arms length...

Sometimes it hits the mark, yeah, but usually it's just really random for me. They say having all your teeth just spontaneously fall off in a dream means someone you know is going to die. Well, I don't know about that, but it's weird that I keep dreaming about my teeth falling off all the time. I basically know what it feels like to have my mouth full of fallen off teeth from having those dreams somehow.

I also keep dreaming about not being able to walk or run properly. It feels exactly like trying to run underwater. It's so common in my dreams that I wasn't sure if I was actually able to run properly at one point.

Misyne  - I've had both these types of dreams in the past; The teeth falling out is one dream i had repeatedly throughout my school and uni life, during exam time...interpret that as you will; and people i knew didn't start dying, which was good news.

The running one - that's exactly what it feels like; I've read a bit about things like that, and i think the general consensus is that it's a result of not being fully unconscious when your asleep - a bit like sleep paralysis, where there is a mismatch between body and sleep cues.

But also, does anyone else find it incredible that we can have essentially the same dream-theme?? Makes me think how many people, over the course of time, have had this exact dream!? *mind implode slightly*

I love that. The mundane to the extreme surreal - all in your head

I think dreams are just a cool weird human phenomenon! Like, brain, what the actual *censored* are you doing while i'm asleep?!

Sleep paralysis too; I've had it a couple times, linked to exhaustion i think, but I've never been scared luckily. The first time it happened, i remember thinking "well, thats it, i've had a stroke, i guess this is my life now"...i'm not sure i'd be that chill if i actually had a legit stroke...

I'm reading Goodnight PunPun by Inio Asano at the moment - its incredible. Hard to describe, but just heartwrenching and incredible art.

Anyone else feeling like this about anything else?

OOOoo thank you! I really like these recommendations. Annoyingly neither of these seem to be easily sourced in English physical form, but i'll have a closer look on online sources. God bless the internet

I love this idea.

I now want to give it some proper thought, but the first brain fart that came out when i read "Sleepyhead" was an icebath of realization that someone ELSE relates to "Sleepyhead" in a life-identity way! I've sometimes thought its what the inside of my head would sound like composed...But when i listened to the link, turns out it's a different "Sleeyhead" - Not sure what this says about me but some times my brain sounds like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThbJtOAkHy4

Thanks for your reply Manimal. I love Nama!  I'll check Non Non Biyori; love fun and plotless.

But, I wonder if there's more out there that isn't based on school kids though? Have you watched Genshiken? - I'd recommend that too for Slice of Life easy watching.

I've read Solanin  by Inio Asano recently, a beautiful true to life every day story of a couple in tokyo; I was wondering if anyone can suggest a similar themed book? or any other slice of life manga?

Hi, I'm EalingLa.  I'm on the artist side of things and am mainly hear to learn and chat as a veteran comic and sequential art appreciator...and potentially read the next big thing!!

Apparently i needed to introduce my self officially, so hope i've delivered. I assure you i have read the forum rules and will obey them to the letter but i historically suck at forums.

So, how was your day?
