Comics and other Gallery / JP89's other artwork

Here is some of my non-manga related artwork. :-D

Mountain Ruins
This one was drawn with pencil and paper, scanned, and colored/shaded on the computer:

Old Church (or something)
Aside from some brightness/contrast adjustment, this image is straight from the scanner:

I hope to post more, although these drawings take me forever so it might be a little while. ;-)

Graphic Softwares / Editing line size in SAI?
« on: March 22, 2011, 02:26:04 AM »
Is it possible to change the thickness of a line (on the linework layer) in SAI after placing it out, without using the "pressure" setting? I think I inked my drawing with too thick of lines, and while I know how to select it all, I want to know if there is a way to change the brush size of all the lines while leaving the pressure setting at 100%.

If it isn't possible I guess I'll go ahead and use the pressure setting, but I'd rather change the actual line brush size if possible.

Manga Art Gallery / JP89's artwork

This picture was from about half a year ago I think. It was heavily inspired by the game Monster Hunter Tri (Wii). The weapon she is holding is called a bowgun. :-D

Although they still have problems, the body proportions are at least somewhat better than my stuff from a couple years ago. :-)

Suggestions And Feedback / Error when trying to upload avatar?
« on: March 14, 2011, 05:41:14 PM »
I'm trying to upload an avatar from my computer, but it is giving this error:

"The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved."

Am I doing something wrong or is this an error with the server? (I have tried both PNG and JPG files at several different sizes and they all gave the same error.)

Starter Gallery / Some of my early work
« on: March 14, 2011, 05:25:40 PM »
Here are some of the very first full body pictures I did, back when I first started drawing anime in 2009 (about two years ago). I had done a few other anime drawings before this, although they weren't full body nor were they any good (mostly just practice sketches).

This one was the first. Yes, I know the proportions are off (among a host of other problems). :-D Like most of my work, I drew this with pencil and paper, then I scanned it and colored it in on Paint Shop Pro. This was before I knew anything about inking, so the lines look rather washed out.

I did this one not too long after the first one. It's an elven dude with a sword.

This was the first full body picture I did of a girl if I recall correctly.

OK, there you have it. Some of my early works. :-)

While I didn't post these for critizism, you can if you want. (I'll join in too.)

I'll try to get some of my newer stuff up in the main gallery soon.

Welcome Center / Hi everyone!
« on: March 11, 2011, 10:46:02 PM »
Hi, I'm Jason, and I'm a graphic/web designer from southern California. :-D

I got started drawing anime a few years ago after playing some Japanese RPGs a few years ago (Fire Emblem was one of the main ones). I actually haven't read that much when it comes to manga books/magazines, and the amount of anime I've watched isn't any greater. :-D

I found this forum from a link on yahoo answers, and I decided it would probably be a good idea to join. I have hardly explored these forums at all, and I'm already sufficiently jealous (and put to shame). Despite that, I hope to post some of my work up sometime soon (100% of it for critique, lol).

Suggestions And Feedback / Registration difficulty
« on: March 11, 2011, 06:04:40 PM »
I wonder if the second verification "question" could be changed to read "10 - 3 = ?"? (Instead of just "10-3".)

Maybe I'm just that slow, but it took me forever to figure out what 10-3 meant; I thought it was the police code (stop transmitting), and I couldn't figure out what was supposed to go in the field. Lolol.

Sorry for such a strange first post. :-D Anyway, I look forward to participating in these forums...a lot of good stuff here!
