I was seriously considering pushing back this post until I had everything together and ready, but hey, what the hell?

So, I write 3 fanfics, and I would like to have a manga artist to adapt one of them. It will be paid, and the wages will gradually increase depending on how popular it may become. For the first 20-page chapter, the artist will be paid around $600. That will only be for the first chapter, though. Pricing will be negotiable, and I am willing to be flexible.

My three fics:

To Hyrule and Back Again - Legend of Zelda + Attack on Titan crossover - 27 chapters - This is the one I would like to be adapted the most since it's the longest. If you're in it for the long run, this is the way to go.

The Straw Hat Ghoul - Tokyo Ghoul + One Piece crossover - 6 chapters - This one has lots of potential as its popularity on FF.net rivals THaBA despite it only being 6 chapters.

Deku's Bizarre Adventure - My Hero Academia + Jojo's Bizarre Adventure crossover - 1 chapter - this is my newest one and it's still mostly in the planning phase. Not recommended, but hey, if you want to adapt this one, cool.

At this current moment, I'm not 100% ready to enter a long-term partnership, but it's what I'm working towards. I mainly made this post to let everybody know of this. If you are interested, let me know in the comments what story you'd want to adapt, and consider PMing me an example of your art. I may ask you to draw certain characters from the story you're adapting to get a better idea of what the art will be like.

This post will be continually edited as new updates come along.

9/10/17: I have found an artist for my Zelda + Attack on Titan crossover fic. The other two fics will have an artist eventually, and it will be posted on this forum once more.

General Manga writer discussions / Giant Crossover Fanfics

This is a weird idea. A really weird idea.

But hear me out.

You know how all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies are apart of the same ongoing storyline? Some movies are about just one superhero, and that's how it was at the start, but it eventually built up to big movies like The Avengers and Captain America: Civil War? It started with standalone movies like Iron Man and Thor but when the groundwork was laid they went all out.

What if there was a version of that, but for fanfiction?

Can you imagine? It's kinda hard, right? I mean, how would it even work? The MCU is set in the same universe, but anime, manga, video games, and movies are all usually set in different ones. It just doesn't make sense, right?

Well, it's exactly what I'm doing.

It is starting with three crossover fanfictions. Six whole universes to kick it off. They each have their own story and do not reference each other at all. Eventually, either at the end or somewhere in the middle, they will start to come together in an Avengers-esque, giant crossover fanfic. It's a giant multiverse with various characters from many different anime, and from one video game too.

Certain characters have the ability to create interdimensional portals to travel the multiverse, which is what starts their initial stories. The Straw Hat Ghoul starts off with Kaneki unknowingly creating a portal to the One Piece world, and he with all of his friends (and enemies) fall in it. In Deku's Bizarre Adventure Joseph creates a portal while fighting the Pillar Men and stumbles upon it years later with Jotaro whilst searching for Dio, and the Stardust Crusaders arrive in the My Hero Academia universe, which is being ravaged by Dio. And in To Hyrule and Back Again, Link is forced into a portal to the Attack on Titan universe by a mysterious being, and is instantly chased by a titan.

More crossover fics will come to join the fray, such as a Dragonball Z + Hunter x Hunter fic titled Dragonball Hunter. They will all come together as one big story, where people fight, die, love, and betray each other.

Sounds weird as hell, right? Right.

Posted this to see your thoughts on it. I have to juggle three fics at once and it's a little hard, but, y'know, I'm hanging in there. If you want to help out, that's cool, but otherwise thanks for reading my crazy idea and tell me what you think.

FanFics / The Straw Hat Ghoul - One Piece + Tokyo Ghoul crossover

New thread for a story I've been working on for a bit. I'll upload a chapter every day or two until it's caught up
PROLOGUE

In the multiverse, if two universes' timelines are running side by side, it is relatively easy to connect them. However, if there is no spark, the flame cannot be spread; therefore, two of these universes have not made contact… yet.

One universe is very much like ours in which there is modern technology, modern transportation, modern… Well, modern everything. The only difference is there are these beings that terrorize the humans known as "ghouls." We shall call this the Tokyo Ghoul universe.

The other is a bizarre world, completely different from ours. Strange powers originating from strange fruits bring a whole new layer of danger and adventure to this world, and a corrupt world government as well as pirates constantly fighting for power only add to that. We shall call this the One Piece universe, named after the treasure one of the more notorious pirates left behind before his death.

Both universes contrast sharply; yet, they are so close together. All it takes to connect the two is the right power, and a little bit of will and determination…

...which brings us to a ghoul named Ken Kaneki. At one point of his recently changed-for-the-worse life, one of his enemies captures him and tortures him, and Kaneki's fellow ghoul friends fights for his life. After hours of excruciating pain, he can no longer take it anymore, and something awakens inside of him; this, in turn, is the spark needed to connect the Tokyo Ghoul and One Piece universes.

Around this time in the One Piece timeline, a pirate group destined to rise to infamy is approaching a town known as Loguetown. They are known as the Straw Hat pirates, led by their captain, Monkey D. Luffy. This is the town where Kaneki and the Straw Hat pirates will meet, and where all else near Kaneki in the Tokyo Ghoul universe will fall to.

That town is where it all starts… where two worlds begin to come together as one, and where a new chapter in Kaneki's life, as well as his ghoul friends' lives, comes about. In that town…

is where the rise of the Straw Hat Ghoul begins.

Talking about on this board mainly, but also in general.

How much would a writer pay an artist to draw a manga for them? Is it usually by the chapter, by the page, or, if the manga brings in a profit, do they receive a percent of the revenue?

I read somewhere on this board about one artist who'd want $30/page. An average manga chapter is 20 pages, so that'd be $600 a chapter right there. For a student barely getting by with what I have, that's a hell of a lot of money  to pay for a chapter. I'd be willing to save up, but it'd take some time.

So, is that how the writers on this forum pay the artists? Mainly by the page? Are there any other ways to get paid? Maybe a mixture of by the page/chapter and revenue brought in by the site that's hosting the manga?

I'm pretty much clueless, so if someone could fill me in, that'd be great.

I was disappointed when no one leaked the Avengers: Infinity War trailer at D23, even though phones were confiscated. Someone had to sneak one in there, right? Nope.

So I'm really hoping Marvel drops it at comic-con. I'm not too keen on Inhumans, and we've already seen some Thor: Ragnarok, The Defenders, and Black Panther, so some IW footage is all I'm looking for.

 Alright.

This is the thread for my longfic, THaBA. It's around 30 chapters right now but I'm going to rewrite the first act of part 1, and then post those rewritten chapters here as I do so. Then, I'll post the rest of the story.

Will eventually look into paying an artist here to create a long-running manga adaptation as partners.

Without further ado, here is the prologue to the story. It is a flash-forwards to a certain part of the story I haven't written yet (but I have planned out).

PROLOGUE

Link's Point of View

...and, the disheartening fact that time now works against me, instead of with me, makes me question whether or not time is a sickness, ever corrupting one's mind into thinking in a fallacious manner, or if it is an inevitable burden, reminding one of their inescapable death.

I used to think of it as something far from a mere concept, no, it was something glorious that I could control in some cases. If I felt like going to the past, I could place the blade of evil's bane back in its pedestal, or, more recently, I could play the Song of Time.

But it was still limited; however, that limited control I had on time was all I needed to achieve my goals.

But the simplest of goals, of needs, of desperate desires, is what is so far out of reach it has forever altered my perception on time. The need I'd never thought would be the one out of grasp, the need I always took for granted, and the one that typically would be taken for granted - to be at home, to have a life similar to the one before I was woken up and told I was the world's only hope.

All I want to do is return to my house in the forest, to sleep in every day, to not have some deathly moon reminding me of the burden of time; to see Saria, to see Zelda, to see Malon, Ruto, Darunia, Impa, and even Mido. To possibly see Skull Kid, finding him playing his flute on that stump in the Lost Woods, and maybe - just maybe - see Happy Mask Salesman, amidst his travels.

Looks like that isn't happening.

Welcome Center / Hello, new writer here!
« on: July 20, 2017, 10:20:08 PM »
(I posted this somewhere else and didn't see that there was a welcome section, so I went ahead and reposted it here)

Hi!

I'm Zeldro, and I write a lot of fanfiction. When I found this forum, I got so excited, because it's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I mainly write crossover fanfictions, and was hoping in the future it could get a manga adaptation from an artist here - paid, of course.

The fic I have in mind is a Zelda x Attack on Titan crossover. It's almost 30 chapters, averaging 5k words for each chapter.

It won't be for a few weeks until I actually start searching for an artist but I just wanted to check out this place early, and also introduce myself.

What kind of stuff do you guys write? Mainly original works? Do you collaborate with artists? If so, how much control do you have of what is drawn? I'm genuinely curious of how that whole process is.
