What tools do you that you think others should be aware of. This can include tech, pencils, basic art supplies, etc.

For the people who don’t have a scanner/printer/copier., buy this. This Is what I use.

I guess it’s in sale for $59.99

How do you sing your original song without copying someone’s else’s rhythm or beat, whatever it’s called.

I feel like I’m singing a Weird Al song.

Movies and TV shows / Best Death Scene
« on: December 11, 2017, 04:21:09 PM »
I hate dumb deaths scenes by main characters. Red shirts can get squashed, I don’t care. But don’t let main characters die in uncool ways.

For example, I hated all the deaths from Kong: Skull island. Seriously, if they were going for insignificant deaths, they won.

So share a death scene that deserves recognition. Movie or tv.

General Manga writer discussions / How can you say it’s bad?
« on: November 28, 2017, 04:53:03 AM »
Money is the great equalizer, you either have it or you don’t. It can be used to measure what truly is effective or isn’t. So let’s move to my point.

What is a good story from a writers perspective? It’s kinda an easy answer if you are taught it by writing gurus. You can learn the answer from in a class, a book, a YouTube video.

However, what is the point of a story? I think the point of a story is either to entertain or teach. Most books/manga/anime we read are for entertainment reasons. At least in our circle.

So, how can you say Dragon ball, DBZ, DBGT or DB super sucks from a writing perspective? The money and fandom say otherwise. Even if it was nostalgia, wouldn’t the first time around prove it sucks. Or the Japanese markets from the beginning shun the bad writing?

My point here is that you can('t) live with the paradigm of what story/character development is. There is more to it since obviously authors capture something more that what is in a character arc.

MR Pub / Web Developer/Design Offer (I can make you a website)
« on: November 25, 2017, 02:38:17 PM »
So this is one of many attempts to create an additional source of  income to pay for my future manga.

Okay. Here is the pitch.

"Are you in a desperate need for a platform to showcase your comic without compromising your intellectual property?  Do you want to have your own website that offers your opinions in the form of new journalism? or do you want to combine the two?"

"Do you want your website to look like you want it, and not appear like a generic blog website?"

"thats where i come in."

ahh, forget the pitch.

If you want me to make you a website, i will do it. I'm still trying to find the perfect homepage design that meets all the needs required for a comic/artist portfolio. My website is me still playing with the design. If you have a design in mind, i'll make it for you.

if you noticed my bottom links, you would see.

Also, if you know a small business who needs a website, you can get a 10-15% referral fee.

i'm currently doing a construction website for this person. This is the basic design without giving you guys his info.

As an additional incentive, Mangaraider members can get a free site made for them if they promise to spread the word. I will even design pages the way you want them. If you want me to mimic a website design, i can do that too. Just know that you will be hosting your own site. Basically, it will cost you like minimum $12 a month to run your website. This is my workshop story. Please don't comment on this thread, so i can keep it clean. I doubt people will anyways

I don't write novels. I read them, sometimes. I don't much care for them  Why read when you can get information twice as fast with half as much effort with television? I'm kidding here.

Anyways, this story is written in Third Person Limited.

Develop Your Story / New Moe Manga Idea

Title: I Adopted A Young Dead Girl (but she's really cute though)

Logline: A young woman moves into an apartment, but is confronted with unexplained phenomena while trying to create a new life for herself in the city.

Genre: comedy, drama, slice of life, supernatural, fantasy

Demographic: Seinen

plot: The young woman has been fired from every job in her hometown, so she moves to the city to start a new life. She is given an once in a lifetime deal for an apartment and moves in as soon as she can. Unbeknownst to her, she is being haunted. After she realizes that there's a poltergeist, she, being a jack of all trades, conducts her own exorcism (thank you YouTube), but she finds that the ghost is just a little girl who wants a mother. So, seeing this as an opportunity, plus she can't leave the apartment because of the deposit, she decides to raise the little girl until she fulfills her unfinished business.  Which means, she just wants to live her life as a normal girl.

Rules of the universe:
1) Ghosts exist
2) Ghosts can eat and put on clothes (but they don't have to)
3) If they are loved, other people can see them and touch them, not just the host of the building.
4) Ghosts don't age, but can change form
5) Anyone can perform an exorcism

This is probably the closest thing to an autobiography. You know, except about the dead girl. Or is it :sure:
