Not really any need to continue rambling on from the last post - but for those that had worked with me when I joined MR (the massive team we had of artists and writers all trying to collab LOL) I had begun to start drawing without copying and looking at things - the work was elementary at best, and so I made an oath to stick to a road of practice until I reached my goal - now I have different goals in art, ones that make money, however I feel it's wrong to continue posting my non-manga work here on a manga forum. :) So a farewell post was in order

Oh, and health wise I'm doing much better! :)

So, my versions of characters - creating a portfolio of disney and marvel/dc chars, though I'll branch out!

Latest piece - finished today, My version of Elsa, Frozen - Disney

Realism study

Think that's enough. There will probably be a way one can reach me if anything, advice or a chat - but otherwise I wish everyone the best here, always. x

It's been fun!

It's been ages since I've last posted - I had health complications that had arisen and it was around the time I wanted to adopt a seinen/realism touch to manga, as I felt the manga style fell short on a lot of things that I looked for. I eventually fell in love with realism - I then made the transition to western based style drawing. Almost a year later I've come back to say my goodbyes x

It feels good to be back. I feel the need to post my work now to show my journey as I started my journey here with you guys - it was here I decided to stop observational/copying work and move into innovative study. The wrong is far from over but this chapter has come to a close. I will leave the majority of my stuff in the non-manga section.
A couple of posts from last year (last few pieces of manga work I did before the crossover) will be shown here.

If any of the guys I knew are still on here, I hope you're all well. :)

My modern up to date stuff will be over in the non-comic section in my last post in MR.
Stay practising & stay smiling

Will just chuck my insta pics up ere when they get uploaded perhaps.

Caesar's back. Be much more of him and Albert from now on.

For those that keep an eye on me - my manga/shonen style with Nayk Eddy Stroia, (other pics outdated and disappeared now cba to re-upload).

5

Learned the 'flatting' process used in comics, also means I'll be able to digitally sreen-tone properly now.

6
Digital tab is resurrected, that's a goodie. Will consider inking digitally but all in due time.

More Albert, AKA  Mr Cancer Survivor!

Gradually moving onto foreshortening and creating my own hand poses - again without ref - art is theraputic but I guess hands are a body part that is both crappy and rewarding at the same time. Though it's getting to the stage now where it feels normal to do better pieces of work than I did last year, makes sense right.

My goal is being achieved, no rush, no competition, just me and improvement so I'm happy

Have a healthy & awesome day to all.

D.age Fans ?

The grinding has been going well, I'm on the brink of starting clothes and perspective/backgrounds, so it's all going well atm, whenever I have time.

Guess the guy needs no caption

Lion drawing I did for a friend not sure if I ever uploaded here.

Got so many other sketches but cba to put em up here they all get outdated and stop loading anyway.

Hands study

So yeah you'll see my sense of comic/western/realism is settling back in slowly - kinda getting sick of manga style lol, simple style anyway that is. So perhaps I could still call myself seinen based - but I'm very much proud of wanting to stick to western aspects.

Will prolly stop here, think that's enough of an update for now. Tons of work I guess will be on the instagram whenever I get the spare time, everyone who views this take care &  stay healthy

(p.s I think it can get addictive not using references at all (this current phase I'm in all work you see you'll see lack of some fundamentals for that sole reason); as you want to master getting independent, for me it's working with my improvement but for others never stray from reference, I personally feel to proud to use em but it's inevitable it will happen, however before then I want to get as comfortable as possible.)

Well I'm here for now, might as well post more stuff up before I disappear again god forbid

Edit: Should add whilst I'm here I've ditched pure manga style (kiddy shonen at least) and adopting more comic/western concepts, so you'll see me return back to a few old habits of mine I used to have before going thru the second manga phase. Anyway enjoy if you can.

Caesar, if anyone remembers my first pic of my oc (him) well done lol, not protag but yeah.

Protag pic ink version

me free-skating (what I used to do).

I will my friend, thank you so much

Yes I'm a fan of martial arts (I boxed until my illness/injury stopped me from doing so) but I love my astro-stuff. Astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology etc. So I want to combine martial arts/combat with sci-fi! That's my dream.
Figured drawing martial art poses are the best way to force yourself to grow (learning), grasping general combat and how the body moves.

But before I even do anything like a one-shot or whatever I want to draw for people :) I want to draw them in manga versions in funny/serious scenarios, as long as they enjoy it I'll be happy, so I practice so I can do that

I appreciate it Lego, yeah health issues have stopped me from doing couple of other hobbies important to me, lost my job too, hard times! It's okay I'm getting by.

Thankyou for the kind words on the art! Yeah he reminds me of android 16 a lot, bazz B I've heard, haha. Zumasu from DBSuper, and this mma fighter from dolly kill kill manga or something. It's inevitable I guess.
Haven't seen FMA (or more than 10 eps though it was amazing) or darker than black, though Riffo (big guy) reminds me of the zoldyck brother in Hunter, lol ... well kinda, he's just a char idea for now so after grinding I can start re-doing my char designs properly.

Once again thank you lego

No more crap.
Updates, illness and hospital issues - but in the mean time I'm doing my x100 challenge in which I have a 10 piece list of things I'll grind 100 times, for figures/bodies/poses it'll be 350 times, ay I'm finding it theraputic in times of pain so why not; not interested in showing off - practice is the only thing I need to do now.

Before that, a little manga page I did in few hours for a friend just for banter's sake.

The rest will be my own poses i'm creating along with figure poses I'm creating for my own training, like I said 350. At least 30% of those will be drawing from life, I'll make sure to caption: Sycra on the ones that are, otherwise enjoy my crappy poses as I continue to improve. Watch this space

Character idea during practice, going to restrain from the temptation of clothing and other stuff until that section comes for grinding.

SYCRA (much thanks to him)

eyes in my style, just doing them in a way I can use eyes to signify things - also helps me come up with ideas.
