Dead season for MR has arrived with the start of school it seems. New semester started last week for me.

Really late replies... Been busy with life.

It's really coming along nicely! Were there any particular kind of feathers in mind you pictured it having?
Thank you. Not really no.

The design is pretty cute! Do you just come up with these designs on a whim or do you draw inspiration from places? I'm trying to get into designing creatures/beasts of my own but I use features from realistic photographs of animals and sometimes it makes them look a little TOO real and not stylized enough.
For this one I used patterns and markings from some of my favorite animals without pulling too strongly from any specific one.

This looks sick.
Call this one Caesar ok? ok. :)
Thanks, but this one is basically me. lol Thinking of calling her Fawn.

Looks nice!

awesome! wings and feathers can be a pain, for a simple or a detailed style. Just drawing a whole load of the same thing can be annoying depending on who you are :P
very cute face, and I love the eyes!
Thank you. Yeah, especially when if the pattern is off people will know.

And here's a new art.

I have a love/hate relationship with feathered wings. Need to find some bird pictures for marking inspiration.

Same for the art in D.Gray-Man.

This rings so true. Honestly, maybe you guys can see the difference in my latest art wips. When it comes to my stories or stuff for other people including my school work, things just become so stiff and emotionless. I'm reluctant to work on them because I'm afraid of messing them up. But now with the latest chibi I think I've had fun drawing for the first time since I started drawing with the goal of "getting better". And I can see it in the art itself. She doesn't look dead like the others. The chibi is the first thing I've done specifically for myself and my own enjoyment since my classmates destroyed some of my art in middle school (which made me stop drawing completely until I got an idea for a comic).

I'm planning to make note of it somewhere else too, but I think I'll be putting art development for my comics on hiatus. I think I'm going to focus on doing stuff for myself using characters that exist purely for my own entertainment for a while. I'm still developing my stories don't worry, just going to focus on getting the story written and as long as I keep drawing, my art will improve to the point where one day I'll have the speed and confidence to draw stuff for the comic again.

Eh, I think you'd have more job opportunities with graphic design than studio art (fine art). I'm a studio art major and the classes are about like oil painting, sculpture building, charcoal drawing, etc.

Our art department only gets like 1 or 2 new freshman a year despite how many hundreds of students join this university each year.

Is it just me or does MR feel like it's having a slow period?

Design is still a wip

I avoid using the google docs phone app. It does plenty of weird stuff. Like I go to remove a word by hitting back space and it turns it into some mutant combination where it merges several words and copies a different word from somewhere else and adds it to the mix.

Thanks guys. Though @MK, I don't mind critiques, but I do mind it when people edit my pieces to red-line and such without asking first. In any case thanks for the tip, but I've already given the piece to to the client and don't intend to work on it anymore.

It's more or less the same for introverted girls too (like me). I mean... I've dated technically, but I've never been on a "date". Wasn't in a relationship long enough to learn the ropes at all.

It's possible it's something like that. I just don't and may not ever have answer for him.
