Love ya last commission ( good luck with the rest!) but loving these works in particular, would like to see more of this style/look for sure
I will try to put out more works in that style. It seems people have a fondness for it, but it takes longer to finish over lined art. ^^ Thanks, dude.

nice splatoon one, it's different style to what you've produced recently and I think it looks more complete than your normal works? maybe because its less of a sketchy style and more blocky. looks great regardless.
(everyone here seems to be doing different styles lately)

It's pretty fun to switch up styles. Keeps your galleries from going stale, haha. I change styles depending on what commissioners are looking for or what genre I'm working with.

Usually, I'm stuck doing shounen work, but I had a different request recently - and it was a shoujo piece. Since it was a gift for someone, I took extra care when it came to using refs so I can grab a resemblance to the characters my commissioner had in mind.

Here's how it looks now, minus the sweet message attached to it on print. (This version is for gallery purposes.)

Hi, guys! Woot. It's been so long since I last put something on here. There's another event coming this weekend. Even though I won't be running a booth until next year, I'm there for two things: one, to deliver commissions from people who'd taken my card and contact details from last con, and two - it's for the karaoke contest. (Defending the two-time streak maybe?) Haha.

That aside, here's one of the artworks requested on short notice - it's for a friend who's running a mini-event Splatoon showdown there. ^^; He needed time to promote, so this was put on prio.

One down, three commissions to go.

TK, I like the style you have. You use sai for your work?

Yes, I do. :) And thank you, Noir.

wow great bright artworks!
I hope you sell the prints because they are really good :)
the manga page looks fab, although the speech bubbles look strange without a black outline. is that a popular thing nowadays?
and regarding speech bubbles again, just a preference, but I like it when the tiny pointy triangle thing is curvy rather than straight. I think thats a Japanese vs. American thing though maybe.

I think maybe the Bakugou one is too mild? I can't imagine him making such a peaceful calm expression! Those are some thin sketch lines.

The manga is a loose sample, so the balloons aren't outlined. ^^ The small, pointy tails on them are a preference: the large, swishy tails are a bit bulky for me haha.

I agree that Kacchan looks pretty mild, too! Lol. I guess he's more like a perpetual wrong-side-of-the-bed person in the mornings. :D

Post-event update: I sold out all my prints and Jobclass (Gamer, Cosplayer, Artist) pins on both days. ^^

Here are the other ones that went out on the table:

Great work on all the new stuff. Those BnHA ones definitely look like the kind of prints that vendors sell at conventions. Such good quality...

I'm glad that the work's been steady for you. Just don't forget to take a little time for yourself! (I say, with a sleep schedule that wakes me up in the wee hours of the morning and puts me to bed in the late afternoon).

Doing my best not to burn out, Mahlua. Thank you. Your sched sounds pretty steep, too! o_o

Here's another print in progress!

Man your old stuff is still better than my current stuff. Congrats on the developments. Eyes look a little sunken in IMO, but the shading on the facial hair is crisp.

Haha, thanks. The,er, sunkenness was intentional (the actual person I drew this after has them lol). :D It's been a while, Mahlua!

Awesome stuff like always!!
Thanks, dude!

I haven't been on here in quite a while. To be honest, I have never managed my schedule this steeply before - upcoming con in a week's time, and commissions to do while running on deadlines. Hahahaha.

Here's some new stuff up lately. The last three I'm selling prints of next week. :) I'm tabling for the first time so I have to make the art count lololol.

Art Dump!

The illustrations I've been doing for a book -- have turned into manga pages (eventually was asked to do the manga adaptation). Here's a dummy sampler. The actual pages would differ, and be more polished, though. XDDD Did this fast. This is read right to left.

let us know how your event goes! hopefully you make lots of money :P
what sort of event is it?
I love the shading on Deku, if my finished art looked as good as that sketch I would be happy :P

Sure will, suuper! It's a gamers' event, but artists are invited to sell their works. Cosplays, too! Kind of like a small-scale con in our city.
Loool. I'm trying to get a hold of grayscaling. Might help quite a bit when I'm working on semirealistic stuff.

Speaking of--- did a quick doodle thingy. I saw an abomination in my old files and gave it a go again.

Drawing even on break, how admirable! I just tried something like this myself, drawing anthropomorphic characters. Never did it before so I just ripped off Fumikage Tokoyami's concept from Hero Academia lmao, well done as always!

It's pretty fun to experiment with other stuff once in a while. The recent one I did, was the first I drew something mecha for the commish. ^^ Likewise with kemono/furry.

Something I'm working on for an event coming in two months' time. I have to scrape together prints, keychains and postcard/bookies for merch. I plan to do anime and semi realistic styles on them for variety.

Yeah regular updates are really hard to work with only suggestion i can tell you if you have a team try to make sure they really are productive and try to have many pages in avance before beginning its publication otherwise if any of the team member dont do his work youll hardly be able to respect your schedule. I used to work in a team and one of our teammate Found a better offer it literally killed the project. :( Hope you have a good team im sure you can Do it.

Yep. Agreed. It's why I chose teammates who are looking for work and are also flexible, art-wise (we all live in the same city so we'll be able to meet up to discuss). I'm just hoping we'd be able to work together well. We each have different styles, but they've got some experience already so I'll put my faith on their skills that way.

Anyway-- putting up the latest WIP of that artbook illust. ^^

Nice to see you're still around and making great art K-Seki!

Keep it up, I can't wait to see more

Thanks, devola! I try to visit from time to time, if only to update a little bit about what's going on the full-time art side here. It's tough, but hey. ^^;

Cool hair
Took a liiiiittle work. XD Spiky hair's troublesome!

U p d a t e s

A writer had approached me to create a series with a scheduled number of pages submitted a week, and had me assemble a team to help me work on it. This will be the first team I'll be working with, and I'm feeling a little anxious, seeing as time-restrained scheds are merciless --- even for Japanese manga artist teams. This one's a seinen manga.

Consequently, there's another shounen manga series incoming, too, aimed for online webmanga. I guess now would be a perfect time to look into last will and testaments.

A little peek into an artbook illustration. One of many in a planned collection. Also a separate project.

Yeah, I have four fursonas and Fro has been building up a Fighters Division in one of his writing projects for MRverse.

I had a bit of a squabble with my friends last night. For some reason they seem to be under the impression that my art is getting progressively worse instead of better? I did my best to explain that my art never had a solid foundation, so now that I'm exploring fundamentals, it's like working one muscle and not the supporting group; some areas are going to be very weak and prone to mistakes simply because the foundation was never solid. It's not that I'm getting worse, per se, so much as my art is probably going through puberty.

Still, that conversation was a tough one to have (mostly because one of my friends said something along the lines of "You're just mad that I've improved more over the last two years than you"--which, first of all, our styles are too different to make value judgements between and compare, and secondly--what a dick move!)

I have only... two Furs, I guess. XD
Interesting, are they going to be posted as a series here? ^^

Aa, I understand that one. >___< It's tough when you're halfway into evolving your art, where things just go wonky for a while before you adjust. Your friend needs to chill. With a bag of ice cubes. Over their head. Keep working on that art, Mahlua! <3

His costume is soo well detailed. How long did it take you to finish coloring ? Great work of art !!

A span of a week, but collectively a little over 16-18 hours (I had other work to do in between). :) Thank you very much, Hasith!

Something I'm working on, too. This is just half of a book cover I'm working on. I'm also working with Carshald on his manga, too! ^^
