Thanks. Glad you all like it. Also I love to transfer my drawing and use illustrator to make them clean. It's a long process but I think the end result is worth it.

I know it has been a while since I've post on here but I've been pretty busy. I've finally found time and decided to make a vector out of my OC.

It still a work in progress so I just wanted to get your input on a few things. What colors should I use? I'm kind of like the color I have so far but I am to suggestions. Does it need more shading and where? I was kind of going with a minimal shading style but it definitively seems like it could use shading in some spots. Lastly any name suggestions?

Thanks for the pointers. I will try to work on the legs but now looking at it again I kinda like the long legs :3 idk I'm going off the proportions in the book. As for the breast I guess I'm off to the store to buy some water balloons lol.

Thanks for the feedback I greatly appreciate the thought you put into your comment. I like your idea on looking at your drawing with a different perspective seems like a pretty good technique. One of my art teachers would suggest to me to always look at my drawings from far away to achieve something similar to what you described. Or even take a break from the piece for a day or two then take another look at it.
As far as developing my style goes I am pretty excited about it! I want to try out all sorts of coloring styles, eye styles, hair styles, and everything else! What has been the biggest motivation to me is this competition.

Right here you could see the improvement from many artists over just two years. I’ve always wanted to be able to draw manga/anime but never took the time and regret it. However, I decided to finally take the leap and begin on my journey to becoming an anime artist. I’d figure if other people are able to progress that quickly than I should have a pretty good chance of at least becoming decent with practice.

Thank rojas. I am using the paper underneath my palm method now. It works pretty well.
Also here is an OC I made today. My first so there might be some flaws. I know the arms look a little wierd and the legs look really long. Also I didn't add any fold to the clothes but I decided to keep it simple for my first try. I used all the guidelines in the book for proportions so I hope there okay. I am going to be polishing this up with illustrator and photoshop soon.

Thanks glad you think so. I always draw lightly until it's perfect. Although I am much more a of a digital guy since I like to rest my palm on the paper causing the led to smear. You can't really see it to much on the scans but it's still something I hope to improve. Drawing without my palms support is so difficult. Well at least it still comes out some what clean.

Thanks man I'll try to update routinely. Yeah I went with rock lees eyes just to practice getting symmetrical eyes. I will practice with more complex shapes in my next guy I draw. Also thanks for the pointer on the ears.

So just following the guideline on how to draw the male figure. As for the face I was trying to draw rock lee from memory using the face guidelines from the book. Then I decided to actually take a look at rock lee and draw a picture of him.

Thank you rojas and zealapeal. I really appreciate the feedback you guys gave me it's really helpful. It's awesome how much detail you guys put into it I am really looking forward to posting more on here.
I have noticed that my eyes aren't always symmetrical this is one of my biggest problems. As for using guidelines I  always use them is just that I free draw them instead of using a ruler. I guess that would come in handy to make sure eyes don't sag. I am looking forward to the moment when I look back at these and see the improvement from my practice and thanks to the feedback.
