(I laughed really loud at the engineering joke)
Your "Choose Your Own Adventure" comics are an awesome idea! It would work very well as a webcomic.

If you don't have the option of trying out different sizes, but you feel you need the arm movement space, it would be safer to take a bigger tablet since I suppose the 13 inch tablet might be a bit small.

No compatibility issues on my PC with Mini Display Port and on a macbook pro with usb-c, but yeah seeing what I've read on the net you need to make sure your setup has what it needs.

I don't work long hours on the tablet so I can't say it would be tiring, and I don't strain because I zoom whenever it's too small. Anyways I generally feel eye fatigue comes more from bad lighting (bright screen, dim room).

Experienced artists tend to use their arms more so it's probably better for them to have a big screen. I suggest you try out different sizes to see what suits you.

For me the size issue isn't really a problem. I own a Cintiq Pro 13 and use the keyboard shortcuts extensively, including the possibility to zoom in and out, rotate or translate the image, change brush sizes etc. I use my left hand to draw and my right hand is constantly on the keyboard moving around the image (I could use touch gestures or pen buttons but I find the keyboard faster and with more possibilities to access custom functions). It's not tiring that way because my right hand doesn't move. I'm not a professional artist, and I haven't tried a bigger screen, but my 13 inch screen does not feel cramped.

Listen to music while drawing. I can't draw without it.

Just read Boyish Games. Very nice work :). Not easy telling a story without words. How long did it take you to draw the whole thing ?

Sorry to hear you've had a bad year. Hope things get better.

I know this is an old comment but I've just read it and have to say something about it:

Some hand studies (with reference). Hands have always been my weakness and I need to fix it. BADLY. So I'm definitely gonna do more of these.

Your hands look absolutely awesome, really :). I would definitely not call them a weakness.

That's what most people say about GIMP. It's clearly not user-friendly. I've heard of Krita but never tried it. I'll give it a go some time.

Nice texture and color there. He looks great. Just a thought: in that environment, the orange ambient light would have a big impact on all surfaces. It works well for most of the colours you've used except the white parts. They should probably have some faint orange tint added to them (just like white is actually very light blue on a normal cloudless day).

I love the Throwing Fire concept. This is the sort of manga I read and try to create. The art is very nice too. As for this:

just getting by after a day of hard work leaves her without motivation to continue chasing her passion

I can so relate to this (add taking care of kids in the mix and one wonders why I make one drawing every couple of months or so). It's these details that make characters feel real and relatable.
