You might want to narrow that down some Evan. There's always a lot going on in the world. What kind of news are you looking for?

Reading the news regularly can definitely be a mental strain. Social media can also be a drain. Sometimes it's best to just focus on yourself and do what makes you happy, be it playing games, watching films, drawing, whatever. No point in doing things that make you not enjoy life, try and avoid the things that cause you the most stress.

Knowing the news is helpful, and yeah, sometimes stressful. But mostly it's important to remember that the news generally isn't harmful. It can seem watching it that all of society is falling into madness and decay, but the news isn't all that different today than 100 years ago. It's just our perception of it that changes.

We already know the past, and see the big picture. The little details fall by the wayside. Meanwhile we're getting the granular information of today, which feels big, but often doesn't add up to anything. Don't get overwhelmed by it.
