Yeah, we're letting a little water drip here to (hopefully) prevent the pipes from freezing.

You think 2018 would be a great fresh start... but no, I'm sitting here having to fix a desktop that suddenly up and died on me. Yay, what a great fresh start.  :glare:

Fresh start would imply starting with nothing. I accumulate knowledge, because knowledge is power.

But that is all I accumulate, because money is all spent, not saved.

Meanwhile in Chicago, mother nature is having a field day over here. She's got everybody outside wearing five pairs of socks, three pairs of pants and like ten sweaters. And we're still cold.

She's must be making up for last year's winter, because last winter felt like fall with a touch of spring.  If we don't get a snow storm by the end of January I'll be surprised.

Gotta love it when you're in the middle of rewatching a series on netflix (In this case Magi.) I'm thinking, yeah I can go through the three seasons that are out and have a good time, but apparently the first two series of Magi, Labyrinth of Magic and Kingdom of Magic have been removed for whatever reason, I'm guessing contract related. So that blows, on the upside both of the FMA series are back on Netflix so if I decide to rewatch that I won't be stuck dealing with BS amounts of ads and popups that are the cost of watching on Kiss or GoGo anime.

Fullmetal alchemist on Netflix? Is it brotherhood?  Cause if so that gives me a reason to actually use my Netflix account for once.
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018

Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: MahluaandMilk on January 06, 2018, 04:31:39 PM
I heard it was both versions, but what do I know? I don't go near things that require me to pay and don't have the decency to remove all ads.
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: Operative13 on January 06, 2018, 06:06:02 PM
Netflix "used" to have Brotherhood. They've since replaced it with other shows.  Then again, I haven't check my Netflix in a week so who knows  :ninja:
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: Coach Fro on January 06, 2018, 08:38:05 PM
That sucks. Oh well, another reason not to be using Netflix I guess.

@Mahlua: Girl don't even get me started on Crunchyroll ads. Man, they would play the same 15 second ad three times in a row and then throw in a thirty second ad in your face for good measure. Their adds were so annoying that I damn near bought the premium service.

UK Netflix has FMA, Brotherhood and the film Star of Milos, I've just started watching FMA. Have watched Brotherhood and Star of Milos, both are great.

I'm now about to start another job but means my lunch breaks are only 30 minutes long (but i have a 20 minute bus ride after driving) lots of Anime to watch with free streaming on my phone :)

Another uninteresting update of my journey.

I discovered my true family name! It was changed 4 generations ago, and well now that I know it...I'm happy it changed. It's not even a cool one either. I found some people I have a super distant connection to on Geni and they where able to find out the names up to 5 generations ago on my Finnish grandpa's side. I said previously I found my grandma's complete bloodline going back to the 1600's, but nothing for my grandpa. In no time at all to barely any effort of my own I unlocked a great family mystery. It may seem like a minor thing, and most people may care little about this stuff for their own bloodlines, but it's those little things that tell the story of how all this chance and all these situations made us into being. I'm of the belief that I would've been born regardless, because how would I know otherwise, but this simple stuff is making me think...strange, but whatever! It makes me want to be a better person this new knowledge of my family, oddly enough.

So yes, at the times the Internet does little wonders...I can only hope this "journey" and slightly obsessive interest of mine has me go to Kalajoki and Karelia one of these days...nowhere else in the world I'd rather visit.

What colour, for a short dress, would look best with long cherry-red hair? I'm thinking light yellow. :hmm:

Why did I sound like such a noob,  asking noobish questions and articulating my thoughts in such noob fashion? Everything about my old self was so cringe worthy just thought of it is making my damn fro explode! Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhh!

Old me is trash. Random thought is random...
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: Vio on February 07, 2018, 05:55:19 PM
So I exchange the faulty drawing board and set up the new one today, and boi it's a lot better. It's a good size, too. The board is 76.2cmX50.8cmX48.2cm or 30inX20inX19in for our American folks. The one thing I wish was better about this drawing board is that the board itself was solid. The board is hollow inside and at time feel like I might dent it. Other than that, I do feel it's nice to use for an armature artist.
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: Robin Ryuu on February 09, 2018, 04:12:44 PM
Honestly the biggest thing stopping me from drawing comics is the lack of info on page size requirements and the proportions of everything like the margins and the bleed zone...

"The right group of graphic novels is from English-speaking countries, where there is no standard format."

Ugh. But I'm pretty sure printing companies have different requirements... This is giving me a headache.
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: Vio on February 09, 2018, 04:32:37 PM
That's unfortunate. Is it more difficult traditionally, digitally or both because of the lack of size clarity? :hmm:
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: Robin Ryuu on February 09, 2018, 05:05:04 PM
Well art stores carry different brands of bristol boards (comic paper) that have the blue page guides on them, but the size varies. And for digital... MS5 has a list of templates, but... I dunno which one if any is the right one to use.

So it's difficult either way. :/

I switched my search words to be for graphic novels instead of comic books (With a spine vs. stapled) and I'm currently reading more.

Seems like it might be a decent resource for this. This company says they can do custom sizes as well.

Anybody actually have experience with this company?

I have no experience, but I did have fun with their calculating tool. Apparently, I picked the settings were 50,000 prints will cost me $500K USD, which is around $625K+ CAD.

Hey everybody. Just wanted to spring up to give our Writing Marathon some love. If you've got a spare half hour or more please feel free to take part in this week's writing activity which is on Stream of Consciousness.

And if that seems like fun then please feel free to join up in the marathon, or maybe give one of the participants stories a review, long or short.

Aside from that, I hope you're all having a good day.  :clapping:

Nothing eats Sherbet, Sherbet eats the lions then goes for a long nap.

Think we need a group activity on here that doesn't require crazy commitment :P Used to take part in a lot of text based simrpgs back in the day, always found them fun to drop in on.

Any thoughts/ideas?

You would have the do the rping off site such as in skype or through pms and the post it as a chapter. There's rules to keep the forum from being overtaken by RP posts.

I'd suggest checking out WhiteCrow's MR Project. It's about like you're imagining I think and it had a lot of support. (I'm going to drag him back to finish that project if it's the last thing I do...)

Now things get juicy with the Olympics. The only things I care about in all of the games is the gold medal hockey ones. I don't even watch hockey, but it's of great national relevance and even I get goosebumps when I think of Vancouver 2010, one of the proudest moments for this generation of Canadians. It looks like the men's team will face Russia or the Czechs for the gold medal, but it's not as exciting when we're not facing America.

The women's gold medal game from 2014 was an amazing game where our girls made a grand comeback, we watched that one in class, very exciting game, now it's us and America again tonight. Finland won bronze yeye. I wish it wasn't so late though, I want to watch it all! These are the only times I ever watch sports of any kind, because it's more exciting when it's for all of us! If America wins (shutter) it will be one of our biggest national embarrassments since the last time Trudeau opened his mouth (zing). Let us win another game of slapping a puck around an ice rink for a statistic that makes us proud.

and America won in a shoot out.

I watched the game up to the end of overtime, when I was way too tired. It was a good game but our girls certainly seemed either too confident or scrambled too frantically for every shot on net. You could clearly see America doing more solid throughout, where we only did great in second period. It was still fun to watch, when it's our nation against our greatest of foes it's maximum excitement. I don't think I could watch normal hockey, I was zoning out a bit and didn't need to stay up so late. Lame that it was decided in a shootout though, but yes you win this time Yanks... :noyoudon't:

We lost to Germany in hockey.

Canada lost to Germany. In hockey.

Literally what is wrong with our players this year. Where these the same Germans that did 7-1? I mean good job on them, that's pretty badass actually to beat us, and now they will fight Russia tomorrow (and I will root for Germany), but still. Actually I like that Germany beat us, it's way better then America beating us. I hope they crush the Russians, I don't think our team could've beat them anyway. Everyone and their beating odds had it all against Germany, so now that they've defied that it will be very interesting to see how the last game goes, so damnit. Good job.

@Manimal - Honestly, I didn't believe Canada would win a gold for men's hockey this year since our NHL players couldn't compete in this Olympic. The women hockey, though, I had high hopes and was crushed when they lost in the crapshoot for gold. :sadbye:
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: Manimal on February 25, 2018, 02:09:43 AM
Oh my, what a game that was. Russia naturally wins gold 4-3, but there was no predicting this match.

Germany defied all odds by coming this far and by fighting this hard into overtime. When Russia scored the first goal with 0.5 seconds on the clock in first period I figured it'd be an easy victory for them, but there where so many plot twists. Like Germany tying the game 10 seconds after being scored on, it seemed like they would actually win. The Russians are scary when they go full force, when they where passing the puck around in the end you knew they where about to win. Sucks for Germany to come this far only to lose, but it's still amazing enough for them to actually get to this point and it's still a win for them in that sense. Who the hell ever thought this would happen before the Olympics started.

Good I stayed up to watch this game, well worth it. Now I will go back to not caring about hockey or sports for another 4 years I suppose! Again this is what it's all about, the other Olympic events, even the summer ones if you ask me, are filler for the gold medal hockey games, and since Team Canada blew it atleast we got a cool underdog story. It goes to show it doesn't matter what team you are, nothing is for sure until the game begins. We will learn this next time and hopefully come back with great vengeance.

Yes, we can post in the Members Workshops. That's where I posted my workshop. However, I'm curious to know what that restriction is in place. I'm guessing it's to limit character workshops and such, but the child board version with the "500 post rule" might be off-putting for new members. :hmm:

The original idea was that we'd have the child board for senior members to post in so that we wouldn't loose topics in a deluge of topics by newbies. But at the time, people were posting all sorts of nonsense in the workshop board, so itade sense.

It might be time to just recombine the whole thing. I'll talk to hasith about it.

If I do, my ideal picks would be me as Bondrewd and Prushka from Made in Abyss. However, I have no experience with acquiring, let alone making, mask nor helmets. That's my biggest problem for this cosplay idea.

For those who might not know these characters, this is Prushka with best dad, Bondrewd.

I'm going to be attending a con sometime in May. I'd really like to start getting together a Soi Fon cosplay for it, but I need to line the inside of the captain jacket I have myself and who knows how much it'd cost to get together a good shinigami suit (especially since hers is actually cut a very specific way) and wig. Question of the day (Since I thought of subway):

What kind of sandwich do you get at a sub shop? I usually go for a ham and swiss with lettuce, onions and ranch.

At Subway it is always, and never different, a foot long club on Italian with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and pickles no sauce not toasted. However now that I've had a few sandwiches at an amazing Italian deli I can never eat Subway again, it is basically plastic food compared to a place that freshly cuts a variety of lunch meat and gives you an amazing sandwich for about the same price. There it is oven roasted turkey and hot salami, or Polish ham, and lettuce, pickles and mustard.

I never go to Subway anymore. I used to go to Lenny's a lot because I worked right across the parking lot from it. Normally, it was some sort of club with brown mustard and mayo (hate mayo unless paired with brown mustard). I will say I liked how Subway had spinach. I dislike iceberg lettuce, and much prefer spinach as my greens.
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: Coryn on March 28, 2018, 08:46:50 PM
I haven't been to Subway since college (we had one in the union), but I'd get a meatball on wheat with provolone cheese. Toasted, then loaded up with parmesan, oregano, and siracha sauce.

Granted it was a hold over from when I was a kid and didn't like vegetables much, but still, it hit the spot.

Nowadays my office gets lunch from a rotating variety of places once a week. That equates to a lot of sandwich places. Sometimes that means something a bit subpar (looking at you Jimmy John's), but the best is Firehouse Subs. I get the engineer, which is turkey, Swiss, mushrooms, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Served hot, as the best subs are.

PS I personally prefer this local Italian sandwich shop that's been around since the fifties, I have a number of favs but their specialty is a Turkey Sub which I love.

That is one sketchy Subway...

I want to find a solid local sandwich place around where I am. There just isn't much of a food tradition for much besides BBQ in KC. Although there was this one place my office used to get that made a killer philly cheese steak. Unfortunately, we stopped getting them a while back when the decision was made to get slightly healthier lunch options  :sadbye:

Jimmy Johns is okay but they don't toast their bread, which I prefer. I like Firehouse 'cause hot sauce.

We have better local sandwich shops here, but the only sub shops here are chains (that I know of).

They do have a great hot sauce.

Controversial topic: Horseradish? Yes or no.

Personally, you get some roast beef, some pastrami, and drizzle horseradish sauce all over that, now that's the start of a good thing.

Well most writers who come here looking for artists don't want to compensate their artist upfront or at all. *sighs* I can't buy food by saying I'll "potentially" pay for it later on. :/ (Ignoring credit cards since there's still an exchange of profit, just with a middleman.)

It's unfortunately our greatest weakness. We don't tend to attract the more experienced who know how that all works out.

Of course, we only added the looking for work boards much later on after people requested them. We never intended for MR to be a site that was designed for it. So any people that come together using them is really just a bonus.

You'll probably find it's the industry in general's greatest weakness. Generally you'll either get

Person who wants stuff for free.

They promise their story is great and they can't pay you but for sure the series will be a massive hit. 99% of the time they don't include a script and haven't done the basic bits of research/legwork into making it something fit for public consumption.

Person who wants to rev-share

Basically the same as the person above except they think rev-share sounds a bit more enticing or professional.

Generally, I wouldn't work with anybody I don't know that well. Consistency is the biggest thing and making Manga (or any professional product really) requires a lot of work and the last thing you want if your partner burning out before it even gets off the ground.

Looks like I'm late for the Sub talk. I was gonna say I do love a good Chicken Teriyaki on a flat bread with some pepper jack cheese and sweet onion sauce.

But on forum related matters, I'm starting to think I've lost it.

Everytime I login into MR on mobile and put in my password perfectly, I would get the error screen, and then on the second time it works.

And I just tried logging in, literally typed every letter as slow as I could and carefully clicked the Login button.

If only I could play all the VN's...while it is system for it I of course can't read the text. It's easy to burn discs for the system as well, but no English patches for those games...still the novelty of having it combined with all the cool games there are for it is worth it.

A literal squirrel was literally in my house just now. Like literally chilling in the back-porch window as if he just paid this month's rent.

Yall know what I did right?

That's right you guessed it. I grabbed a broom and my cat (Because I was kinda scared lowkey and needed some form of backup) and proceeded to handle business. Luckily, the squirrel squeezed through a small crack under the back door (which was probably how he got inside in the first place) and ran out the house, which was fine with me since I didn't want physically harm the thing. I hear that's a crime if I'm not mistaken.

That back door is gonna need some adjusting though...

I love writing for/in MRverse. It's so easy to just let things happen. Chapters almost write themselves once you have the base idea. That little thing on EW (http://www.ecchiworld.com/forums/index.php/topic,8623.msg13387/topicseen.html#msg13387) I mentioned earlier does, in fact, have its third chapter up now. It's only going to get more ecchi from here.

Just figured I'd drop a line here since EcchiWorld has kinda been a desert with a few spam ninjas and tumbleweeds for company lately.

Totally agree. It’s a lot of fun and a good way to improve your skills without any added stress. I feel like I get better bit by bit every time I pen down a chapter for my own Mrverse story.

I took a glance at what wrote you yesterday and liked what I saw so far. Gonna sit down and really get through it soon. Also gotta hit up that chapter you wrote for Voyer Corps as well.

But, hey, the summer is long and I'm trying to get people to hire me, so maybe if I happen to finish one of those comics and post it somewhere like here or DeviantART people will be like "oh hey a comic artist. And I will.

I posted an ad online about joining a band, got some replies. Mostly boring people. I refuse to jam with metal heads, stoners and people who like Pink Floyd. Though at this point in my life it seems I refuse to even want to jam with any people ever. I've sent a couple people my tunes and like reasonable humans they didn't reply afterward. But one guy was like "guitars are good, vocals not a fan" but then he was all "can we write music together?". My heart was-a-pumping but then I decided to not reply. Too many factors online. Of course the prospect makes me nervous as well. Someone says "want to jam" and I'm stressing, I think big picture like we're basically forming a band right now and starting on our first album. In everything in life I don't want to waste my time and bother with flakes. If we jam we're making our first song the first day we meet, and recording that thing right away. I'm just going to keep hoping for some kind of magical encounter in real life until it's time for something else.

Well I called my dad right after they left and he came with guns and took me back to my parent's house. Then in the morning we were able to get permission to see the security recordings and decided that it wasn't just some random drunk guy and then called the police. I had thought there was only one guy since only one talked, but the camera showed two guys in hoodies and gloves (in humid 80 degree Fahrenheit weather). One outside my door with the other one down the hall listening through my wall.

But the cop came, said he couldn't do anything since there was no crime, and left.

That sucks ass, but unfortunately, I'm not surprised :/ the law has a tendency not to act unless someone's, well, been physically hurt, which is BS. Look out for yourself. And try and keep your parents updated, even if nothing happens, because if they're anything like mine they'll be as on edge as you are for awhile.

Getting ready to go to a con and whoops I started smoking again due to a certain drama llama coming back to bite me on the ass.

I mentioned in my art gallery that two friends of mine pointed out last night that they feel that my art is getting worse instead of better and considering the other drama I'm going through I may be on the verge of a personal radioactive meltdown but it's fiiine. Just gonna go to the con, have some fun, come back, and work on things some more.

At least art and writing are good work to distract yourself from things that are out of your control.

I had a 'truth is stranger than fiction' moment earlier this year, or maybe I just underestimated how awful the human race could be. It was months ago, but I'm still kind of in shock about it.  I haven't really told anyone except my family about it for some reason (maybe because I don't want to get involved with the law if things escalate again or for the person who wronged me to somehow find me posting on the internet on a site she doesn't know about under a name no one knows exists), but it really f*cked me up after an already particularly difficult time. And people are telling me over and over that I shouldn't let one person control so much of my life, but I dunno. It was a really important one person.

Who woulda thunk it, though. I didn't know people actually meant it when they said there were moments stranger than fiction. Hope I wasn't too whiny.

Not to whiny if you ask me. I have to ask, though, and I ask this genuinely: are you all right? Whatever happened seems to have shaken you up pretty badly. If you don't feel comfortable discussing details here, you can PM me about it directly. I may not be able to help much, but I can offer support where I can.

I'm fine, or I should be soon enough. It could have been worse. I think it really was more of a shock than much else. Thanks, though.

Edit: I'll probably tell the story when the dust has settled because it's a real doozy. Definitely not the worst thing that could happen to a person, but still pretty messed.

So, story time from one of MR's resident ghosts. I have a bit of a love hate relationship with the shower in my home. On the love end, it's a damn good shower that's very comfortable to use... So long as nobody else in the house turns on the water. So the sink, the garden hose, flushing a toilet, turning on the washing machine. All things that most people do unconsciously. So between four and six times now I have lost the game of shower russian roulette and experienced incidents where I'm in the middle of my shower and then wham freezing cold, or what happens more often and what is far more painful, scalding hot that is enough to burn. Typically the person using the water outside the shower will quickly figure out their mistake and turn the water off after they hear me yell out a string of profanity. Today's incident however was the worst case possible, that being where I was in the very middle of the shower, and the effected household item causing my extra shot of adrenaline for the day was the washing machine which basically renders the shower unusable until the wash is done. All in all, it's a very unfortunate thing to happen in the moment, but human suffering is damned hilarious even for the person suffering in retrospect so to anyone who's writing a slice of life type of story feel free to use this sort of scenario as a bit of comedy.

Alright, story/rant done,  back to the shadows with me. I hope you guys all have a wonderful rest of your day.

You gotta stand up for yourself! Fight for your shower rights! Make sure you scream 'I'm in the shower!' as loud as you can before you go in! Or even better, make a point to disregard other people in the shower when you're using the water.

You could always, of course just have a polite discussion about it, but that hasn't worked too well in my experience. Best of luck with your showering.

If you really want to be vindictive, install electrically actuated valves along your water piping, so you can shut off flow to everything except the shower from within the restroom. I'm not saying it's economically viable, but damn if it isn't effective.

I am so glad my campus was supplied by a giant boiler plant. Never lacking for hot water. And it was a system I regularly put to the test. Love me a long shower.

We too seemed to have infinite hot water. It would sometimes just get SUPER SCALDING for like a couple of seconds and next to no reason. Years of not living alone graced me with the ability to not scream out every time it happened though. And y'all can get your minds out of the gutter on that statement; yes I'm a masochist but even we yelp at a good surprise for the sheer shock of it. Adrenaline kicks in later.

Also to all of you with infinite hot water, you're some lucky ducks. Though in summer usually things are okay, in the winter, if you're the last one to shower in my house, you get no hot water whatsoever.

Somehow this turned into the prime place for me to ramble about things, taking the site as a place for creative peeps with common interests but their own passions, I've benefited amazingly in my own music ventures in ways I simply wouldn't have on other forums, which seems odd but makes sense. I'm not complaining or saying that they shouldn't count. MR wouldn't be the same without your music. I just think it's interesting that your music has allowed you to contribute so much, and that even without  it, you've still got about 100 posts on me. Ew, Apple. It's hard to be a young person and be respected as an android user, but android phones are remarkably better in my opinion. My top reason for picking android over apple is probably that apple phones break way easier in my experience, and I'm a clumsy f*ck.

For sure on that. This thing is super resilient. I've practically slammed it into the ground a few times, and it's absolutely no worse for wear. Granted, I do have a half decent case for it, but I've seen iPhones shatter from a six inch drop from someone's hand onto a table.

Double-post whoop.

Just discovered that I graciously happened to have learned the best chords possible to start with because "I'll Rust With You" by Steam Powered Giraffe only contains chords I now know (G, Em, Am, D, C).

Update: It's not that difficult to play despite the fact that I couldn't find the strumming pattern anywhere. I kinda made one up based on the stress of the lyrics. Sometimes my chords still come out a little muted but it definitely sounds like it's trying to be a song as I play. Give it a few days/couple of weeks and I might actually be able to play this. Am to G kills me though.

Is it weird that I like, don't count when I strum? I just kinda know where the stresses are and somehow it fits with a down up pattern anyway (well actually more like down up down, down up down).
I've never been able to count time. My brain just doesn't focus right if I do.
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: Manimal on June 10, 2018, 06:22:39 PM
Am to G is a tricky one eh, it's a total move all fingers. I never focused on counting, timing or anything related to that when I started playing. It sounds like you have the vibe anyway, good to get early on. I think that stuff comes later on anyway.
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: MahluaandMilk on June 10, 2018, 06:26:43 PM
It's usually Am to D to G but yeah my fingers get confused. From G to Em to Am I am pretty okay though. Glad to hear that it might start kicking in later. I guess I gotta learn to strum before I can count and strum at the same time. That would make sense.

This may be an online summer course, but my professor is extremely unreliable... Twice (Out of 3 times) I've had to send them an email when a quiz wasn't up when the schedule said we had one. Luckily his phone turned back on before any major turns were needed to be made. And totally understand your freak out for Ubers. While I myself haven't had any out of whack problems with it so far, I've read some stories online and heard some from other drivers. Needless to say, getting driven around by total strangers isn't exactly 100% safe.
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: EffulgentFirefly on June 21, 2018, 08:28:53 PM
Yeah, ubers kind of give me the chills. I mean, most people aren't serial killers, but you know. That situation sounds like a total nightmare. There's nothing more awkward than when someone asks for directions and your first answer is 'uhhhhh... this way... probably... maybe...'

Something I have concluded after nearing a decade of writing is that it's really hard to find people who care you write, or are willing to help you out. My friends try to pretend they do, but it isn't a formidable skill in the eyes of most. The only people who've ever really taken in the fact writing is like breathing for me at this point are the other, older writers I've known, but even then, it's more like them patting a kid on the head and saying 'wow, that's great!' when they say they want to be a superstar rather than taking me seriously.

It isn't a hobby that gets you any glory, that's for sure. But I guess that's part of the challenge, eh?
Title: Re: Chit Chat 2018
Post by: MahluaandMilk on June 21, 2018, 08:41:27 PM
Yeah. Writing in some senses is more difficult than drawing. It takes all of your senses as well as your whole logic brain and creative brain working together. I guess what makes it hard for outsiders to appreciate is that in order to do so, they have to engage just as much. They have to sit down and read. It's easier to just look at a pretty picture and tell what's good and what's...not so great. With writing, so much more can be going on, and it can be kind of draining to read because of that. That's why I haven't really reviewed any of the new writing (including yours, I'm afraid); simply put, it's more time and thought consuming.

I appreciate the effort regardless, though. I know it takes a lot to do it. I hope I can just get my future students to see the value in it, too. I've known many a person for whom a "hobby that doesn't get you any glory" saved their lives.

But, just because I don't say much directly doesn't mean that I don't support you. Like I may have said elsewhere, any form of creation is a sacred thing to me.

Yeah, and most people haven't actually tried it to know just how much of a pain in the ass it can be either! Don't listen to 'em. Young kids wanting to tell stories is how we've gotten anything worth reading, watching, or listening to in our species' time on this rock. Some people are just incapable of putting two and two together about that.

@Fro: I mean, the app on your phone also tracks the route. Just whip that out.

But this is why I take Lyft. Not saying they're 100% free of troubles, but I've had some sketch Ubers before, and I ain't never had a sketch Lyft yet.

@Mahlua Yeah, that sums it up in a nutshell. I try really hard not to compare myself to or even be jealous of artists because of that, because it's like comparing apples and oranges. Still, I mean, it's hard not to have those thoughts. And it really can take a lot out of you to read and review writing (which only convinces me further beta readers must be legit angels). Thanks for the support. It's nice to know someone's there, especially for writing and the arts.  ;D

@Coryn That's 100% true, haha. I think especially because you're typically taught how to write in school, no one really takes into account writing stories is a bit of a hassle. Hopefully I can just be part of the next generation of creators and that'll be that.

Maybe there's hope for the next generation with me going into the education system.

Step one, though: no one must realize that this is me. My online identity cannot be discovered.
Step two: don't get fired for existing in the capital S South as a gay Pagan.

Doublepost whoops.
But seriously what the actual frack is MR? We turn writers into artists and everyone into musicians? I used to draw more than write, now that's flipped and I've picked up a guitar.

It's like we're a blender. Everybody goes in for one reason or another but somehow come out all mixed up in different arts.

If there are more of you with YouTube cosplay shows I wanna know, and when I actually get my butt in gear with making all my cosplay and fursuit stuff--

TL;DR I think the essence of being a raider is slowly shifting to being a self-made jackass of all trades.

I finally saw Phantom of the Opera, and it was kind of great. Me and my mom (who insisted we go) got some of the best seats in the house, five rows from the stage and a couple rows in front of the chandelier, and the orchestra was f*cking incredible. It would be a dream come true to play in an orchestra like that one day, honestly. I already love theater and broadway and all, but this one took the cake. If you ever go see one big show, make sure it's this one. The seats in the front dozen rows are totally worth it, especially if you want a chandelier almost dropped on your head and like to feel the heat of the fire. 10/10 would reccomend.

On a completely different note, I was gonna man up and get involved in a couple of the communities I'm part of, both online and otherwise, considering I usually keep my head down and try to tiptoe around everyone in case I accidentally disturb some sense of order or hierarchy. But it seems like the combination of camp nano starting in a few days and my music have struck again, and effectively taken up too much time. What a bummer.

Don't you hate it when this happens:

Good mood to draw: Check
Comfortable position: Check
Computer is working: Check
Photoshop is open: Check

Wait I can't see anything...  Did I miss something?
Glasses: Nope

No problem, I just need to find them
Bedroom: Nope
Downstairs: Nope
Car: Nope
Bathroom: Nope

On a side note, I think some people have noticed some of my critiques and want to know more about who I am because of that.  Well you are in luck, since I couldn't find my glasses I ended up typing my art journey if anyone is interested in reading it (totally what MahluaandMilk said about MR being a blender).

But seriously what the actual frack is MR?
I think maybe now we are just an anime club? lol
We are just creative people bonded by a love of art/story which is probably fulled by a love of manga/anime :P

Normally I either have the motivation to do things or the inspiration for things to do. Rarely do I have both at once. That's why I don't create much, lol.
If I knew what inspiration even was, maybe I wouldn't be struggling so much lol

@MK glad you found your glasses. They're never where they should be XD. My mum buys them in bulk, so eventually there will be enough in the house that they cannot statistically all be lost at the same time :P

Yikes. Stay hydrated and cool, Robin

In other news, I've finally come to terms with the fact that I will almost always spread my earholes for cyberpunk sounding music, all in that synthwave/futurepop/darkwave/industrial spectrum. I've just slowly accumulated so much of it that I hadn't noticed just how much of it was in my library until I looked at what all was in my recently added. (Hint: Covenant, Assemblage 23, more Psyclon Nine).

I've always wanted to draw/write cyberpunk stuff. I guess despite the fact that the game Galerians:ASH scared the crap out of me when I was a kid, it inspired me in a lot of ways.

All that, plus there's my, ah, history with the Rammstein album Reise, Reise.

UK is ridiculously hot at the moment. Heatwave for at least another 2 weeks, we've had a whole month of sun.

Quote from: BBC News

Figures show last month was the driest June on record in south-east and central southern England.

Scotland also had its highest temperature ever recorded, with 33.2C reached on 28 June in Motherwell, according to provisional figures from the Met Office.

Grass and forest fires are going around too.

so when we moved here we were so excited because we have a front yard, a back yard we can make it all look good so i buy solar lights for the front :3... this is where it starts, neighbour's kid, around a year old kept pulling them out and the mother has been trying to get him to stop doing this but parenting now a days is harder than it was when i was little

so this went on since spring, yesterday i super glued them to their piked bases, today i bring my mom out for some fresh air and well the super glue worked but... he managed to snap the pikes off in the ground... so now i cant get the pikes out of the ground, they are now garbage, i hate kids

thats what the problem is, i dont blame her parenting, she lays the law, he responds by screaming in her face and kicking, she puts him in time out, the cops show up at the door (he screams and screams til someone thinks hes being abused or murdered) the problem is that the dad just recently left, he used to be the one to watch the light snapper and the mother watched the little girl, now the little boy freaks out and throws rocks at her if shes givving any attention to her other child

=w= the one time i watched this the grandmother dropped her and the kids off at home, she gets out of the car just yelling "get that *censored*ing kid out of my car!" apparently he started screaming the moment they started driving home

i asked mom and she said my sister, brother and i were little angels when we were younger... but then again, she was able to whoop our asses back then
