Title: When this happens, do you feel self satisfied?
Post by: YoUr EyEs on December 06, 2017, 12:31:20 PM
When, you find something that somebody lost and you return it, for example, a wallet, do you feel self satisfaction? or just to hopefully get a reward?

For me it's self satisfaction.  Maybe when i was 5 or 6 it might have been for rewards but growing up I started to feel guilt.  Now I'd rather do something without a reward just because it's the right thing to do

I simply do it out of common courtesy. I would think everyone would do that out of the sense that we are expected to look out for one another, rather than expecting to do so out of some contrived reward or benefit

There's nothing more dickish than someone finding a lost item and deciding to pocket it for themselves... I'm looking at you "wallet thieves"  :cop:

Yeah, loosing a wallet can really mess you up. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Now if say, I just find a 20 dollar bill stuck in the sidewalk, I'm pocketing that unless someone is actively and obviously looking for it. But wallets contain a lot more than just cash nowadays. If anything, the cash would be the last thing on my mind.
