Welcome to MR, Shane!

The pages you've post have some nice details in them, especially the checkered pattern floor. Does your story have an official title yet, or is that still in the work?

Yeah it has name but manga is still on going, i only did like 120-130 page so far(average manga have 150 page per volume so...not even 1 volume yet)
and this is long story manga...1 page probably took around 14 hours for me depend on detail in the page too

If you think about it it make sense.......i know why manga writer need to hire assistant to aid them on difficult job you know ( they have time limit b4 submit the finish product right)

Looks great.
What reference did you use for the characters. Their uniform looks a lot like the one found in the Ukrainianian militiary. I could be mistaken tough

thats some seriously good 3D objects, did you draw them completely by hand, or did you trace a 3D model?
because it is insanely good :P
either way good job, your style is very consistent, i cant wait to see more :P

I have a friend who's been drawing guns since middle school, and I showed him your M4a1.

It's nice to see such a professional looking layout. Do you have blank copies of those, or are you not allowed to share them for copyright reasons? I feel like some raiders would be interested in having them. Not me, really, since I do my own thing for the most part, but I feel like it's a question that'll be asked eventually.

Post by: Shane on June 10, 2017, 04:27:48 PM
as for the gun....you might need to do a few thing

- Learn CROSS CONTOUR DRAWING (before you can do this you might need to learn 4-5 basic drawing)

- Try draw the gun from paint or open canvas (open canvas have nice fuction)

- Learn how to create custom 3D object in Photoshop CC , illustrator ,SketchUp pro or/and manga studio

- Cast out the idea of you drawing from you imagination.WHY? because you didn't design the gun youself
drawing realistic gun and fancy gun from you head work out different.if you want to draw some fancy gun then
so be it but atleast just do what you can to get a hang on some simple gun out there first

-Invest you time to study the gun itself :  what ammo it used?,rounds capability? what mod can put in the gun,why was it design like that. gun history??. this gonna help you in case you wanted to put the gun in you manga
(fight, action scene sometime determinant who win from gun use)

-if you can build gun from 3d it easy to put detail after

and MahluaandMilk : i do the 3d build in mangastudio on that gun (get example from some picture in google)
so there no blank model to give you -.-

Here, it not finish but im trying to work on AK 47 here

AK47 unfinished
(http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f19/searkhunter/Work%20post/Ak%2047_zpsk5secfss.jpg)

It ugly right lol.....sketch always come out ugly but if you invest time to put detail in there it gonna turn out different

M4a1 you see it not easy for me really, i do a lot of draw in >eraser > take a break >>etc etc  something like that

Could you maybe explain everything about whatever it is you're talking about in the first point? Sadly, I've never really taken any specific formal art classes so all fancy vocabulary is lost on me.
Title: Re: Shane's Data
Post by: Shane on June 10, 2017, 11:27:54 PM
u draw the line to form how object really look like (curve edge etc) so when you doing
the real line it doesn't confuse whne you want to image how object look like in 3D

(http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f19/searkhunter/Work%20post/1cross-contour_zps1vfspybk.jpg) (http://s44.photobucket.com/user/searkhunter/media/Work%20post/1cross-contour_zps1vfspybk.jpg.html)(http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f19/searkhunter/Work%20post/bec8ccca21ede3c216baacad634be237_zpsprnmdmut.jpg) (http://s44.photobucket.com/user/searkhunter/media/Work%20post/bec8ccca21ede3c216baacad634be237_zpsprnmdmut.jpg.html)
Title: Re: Shane's Data

So, does that mean to draw the contour lines first, or the outline?
Title: Re: Shane's Data
Post by: Shane on June 11, 2017, 02:42:05 AM
Doesn't matter how you draw, there no fix way to do it if you can't move on you cut
that part and draw the line to form what inside look like, if you get use to it then you can just draw only outer line of that part

LIKE THIS

(http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f19/searkhunter/Work%20post/0c53a4346030ba49713eed548d9982df_zpsddlhegph.jpg) (http://s44.photobucket.com/user/searkhunter/media/Work%20post/0c53a4346030ba49713eed548d9982df_zpsddlhegph.jpg.html)

Let say you draw gun.....you can use this to cut part by part, like form the line on body and magazine separate...see if the line balance and look real enough..then you draw again attempt to connect 2 part togerther, move on with the same thing until the whole gun is finish

Yeah, you've put a good most of us here to shame with just that tank, although I'm starting to see an issue with cylinders in perspective for you. They seem to all be open faced circles here, which messes with the perspective a little. It looks like the pieces don't quite fit snugly, y'know?

GOOD point mahlu-chan, you have shape eyes.

The top part of the tank can move the cylinders part, however the cylinders it self can be move on it own too (it have a little ball like webcam to adjust the angle itself) . but the reader wouldn't understand that so it like you said....i made it look really weird. :(  really nice to have people pinpoint what i miss. thanks

Not a problem. I seem to be developing that critical eye here lately, but I'll take it as a good thing, because then I can start viewing my art through it and hopefully building myself up too.

Don't beat yourself up too badly. Overall the tank still looks really good, so I doubt that someone would notice a small detail, especially if those parts are meant to move, because they'd be too busy looking at the awesome tread or small detail lines that provide texture.

Nice works you got there :). I especially like the ones in which you show the importance of 3D modeling. Imagining the shapes in a perspective is one of the most crucial things in coming up with detailed objects - especially when you want to show them in a comic.
Your newest one looks like some kind of a doodle so it's hard to tell what's right and what's wrong. But it's still a good form of practice.

Keep it up :).

# daisetsu : thks man, gotta say. sometime the 3D came out ugly so i had to bull*censored*(draw more line) thing up to make it look good lol

one of my character is president, and he's a kid. tried my best make him look like smart gentle kid.

Oh I like the new sketches, fav is the one on the right. I like how you give form to the arms and legs, that makes them look very natural and not too thin. I sometimes hear people complaining my figures are too skinny... and I'm afraid they are right XD Maybe I'll try someone more sportive next.

Yeah, there's a nice little link to EW in my signature. We'd be happy to see the uncut version of those there, since I can't  promise that the mods will give you a pass on that here since it's clear that it was intentionally sexualized as opposed to nude studies. From what I can see, it does look pretty good.

What I'm saying is that I'm tempted to make a dirty joke here, but there's no way to word it that doesn't break Da Rulez.

I suppose the most appropriate thing I can say is that I absolutely need everything about that outfit. I have one of those studded chokers, but even on its smallest setting, it's too big on me.

Overall, I suppose you can take it as a compliment..?

Nah. I'm a natural redhead, and we tend to have the thickest hairstrands, which actually makes our hair really difficult to dye, even professionally. My hair also retains its natural oils well enough that I don't have to wash it every day, and probably the worst thing is that I was using the wrong brush type for my hair growing up, but I got most of my split ends cut off last time I got a haircut back in like...May?

Post by: MahluaandMilk on July 14, 2017, 11:24:55 PM
Now, before I begin, I grant that I tend to fall in line somewhere more on the goth side of things, which is a different subculture altogether from punk, but I believe I can still answer your questions.

Why do punks like skulls? Well, punk started as a rebellious movement, and it was meant to draw attention, be loud, be against the grain, and be against the conservative political era in which it was born. Skulls represent death, and they wanted to break away from their environment, to put it to a certain kind of "death" in order for the phoenix of society to be reborn from the ashes of the violent conservative government and into something more accepting.

Why is spiked hair a common style? Because it draws attention to itself, especially when brightly colored. Originally, punks wore more dirty clothes, purposely torn, sometimes would get into fights just to have some real blood on that. I suppose the spiked hair was meant to look roughed up, deranged even.

Why with the black eyeliner? This isn't so much of a punk thing, but as for goth fashion, it draws attention to the eyes. Goths tend to be incredibly vain, and their elaborate make up is meant to be an expression of self. I find that most men prefer eyeliner only on the under eyelid, which usually gives a tired or deathly look, which is something a lot of goths go for.

What concept are they trying to present? For punks, it's all about rebellion, being broke, surviving through violence, and spitting in the face of the world that puts them through what they've gone through. They're innately fighters, of a sort. That's what they seem to be presenting.

What kind of music do they like? Punk, obviously. Detroit Metal City isn't something I'd classify as punk culture, but rather, metal culture, and it was satirized for comedic effect. Now, as for what constitutes punk music exactly, you might wanna talk to a guy around here called Paipis. I will say that typically the lyrics are politically charged and/or rude.

Since I don't know what you mean by weird cars, I'll continue to the next question.

What kind of hobbies do they have? That's a tough one. I've found some crossover between punk and skateboarder culture, although that likely came about later. I've also heard that some punks even started some graffiti movements, which doesn't surprise me really. I mean, this is a pretty hard question to answer, since under the subculture, they're all still people with their own interests.

Anyway, I answered the questions as best as I could from a "punk" perspective, although I could easily comment again for goth culture, and even for some of its subcultures, since I am vastly more familiar with goth and its family tree.

Thank you kindly maluh-chan, i finally understand them better.

As for me as long as they don't use real violence in modern time.they're fine doing thing they love.

and for the cars.....i got it....they like to put some spike in car..paint blood on it etc...some motocycle have a lot of scary thing around....i guess it their style lol
